A very nice gentleman picked up the phone and was very sweet about adding hot sauce and they also gave a side of free fruit and fried vegetables. Unfortunately, my experience here a few months ago was very disappointing. The staff was nice but upon entering, what seemed like the table the cooks were eating on hadn't been bussed so staring at a table with dirty dishes and food was off-putting. I pre-ordered my food via DoorDash or some other food app but I had to wait nearly 30 minutes for the food. The Thai bbq chicken I ordered was dry and sour. I spent probably $60 here but the food had little flavor, some was nearly inedible. So my daughter got bit by a squirrel, which lead us to the ER room for shots and clean up. She said she wanted a CVS in thw city of Glendale, but they sent the prescription to a CVS in Los Angeles ON Glendale Bl. We were frequent customers for around 20 years. Moved out the area but still grab takeout a couple times a year when we are passing through. We haven't found a Thai place near us that we like better than Thai Taste. I like their combo specials that come with a salad, tempura and fruit cup plus entree and fried rice. Usually order a couple chicken satay and couple beef satay combos. We add on a papaya salad, a noodle dish and maybe a ginger beef a la carte to share. It's plenty for 6 of us. Our favorite Thai spot. We always get the silver noodle soup, it's subtle, the perfect sickness cure, loaded with veggies and some chicken. Our favorite pad thai, saucier than most, crisp cabbage/carrot/bean spouts add the perfect cold texture, we go for tofu normally, it's good. Outside of those two, pretty much anything on the menu is tasty and consistent, we've had most of it. Food here is mostly great and Thai taste has been a favorite of ours for many years now. However, this will be the last time we set foot here. At least for a while. Today our Tom yum soup (no tomato) order was loaded with tomato and the waitress never came back to offer refills or check in on us. But the main reason for not coming back after this last visit is because they added 18% gratuity to our bill on a party of 4. The food is fantastic, the couple who runs it is so sweet, and it's super conveniently located if you're a Silverlake dweller who doesn't want to waste time finding parking in Thai town.
