I'm really torn with this place. We've gotten takeout here 3 times. The food is good but the prices are just way too high for the location and area we're in. I attached a picture of a container of chicken kaprow I ordered on my last visit, $11 and the container isn't even half full. I mean, it's not like they are using noticeably better ingredients then any other Asian takeout restaurant around here and their location is in an ancient strip mall in the back end of Manassas, not exactly high-dollar real estate. The food is good, it just shouldn't cost $60 for a few appetizers and an entree. We always just end up feeling a bit ripped off after we eat here. read more

I'd been waiting to try this spot for a while, so when I saw it pop up for delivery the other day I figured why not? The chicken pad thai was pretty standard - what you expect but this is not a bad thing. It was a nice sized serving and the chicken was very tender. I had plenty for leftovers. The sesame beef dish though left a lot to the imagination. The flavor was great, but the container was barely filled not even halfway. For the $14 I'm not convinced this was an appropriate serving size, and I think that was the biggest disappointment. Dropped a star because they misread our online order and missed the comment section where we asked for extra ginger in one of the orders. Been there many times, food is always good. Only complaint is they should tell that pad thai always has fish sauce and you can't make it completely vegetarian. But there are other vegetarian options, like curries and rice. Service is great and Thai tea is amazing. read more

Note: based on delivery food review. I tried to order through Yelp but it was cancelled. So I tried again through door dash which went through. Best Thai food I've tried in my area so far. Pad Thai had a lot of flavor and they put just enough sauce so it wasn't dry. Parang curry had a lot of sauce for my rice so I was happy with it. It had chicken some broccoli and red pepper. Summer roll tasted fresh. The only thing I'd recommend is a better sauce for it. I expected it to be more of a peanut sauce but it was more hoisin I think. Picked up dinner here tonight and it was excellent! The food was outstanding and service was friendly and efficient. We ordered chicken pad thai $11.95 and tofu fried rice $11.95. Both were delicious (except for the pile of black/white pepper on top of fried rice which caused heartburn) and a good portion. We will definitely go back when we are in the area. read more

Since moving & not being near our usual Thai spot, we've been on the hunt for a place nearby. We tried Thai Tyme out and were super impressed! The interior of the place is so cute - love all the decorations & different seating arrangements. They have a large menu with plenty of options. We ended up getting the Tom Kha soup with chicken, the Eggplant entree with beef, and the crispy duck basil. The Tom kha was delicious! The flavor of it was so good - highly recommend that one. We both loved our entrees - the duck was breaded which was different than we were used to, but still good! The eggplant was very good - lots of good spice to it and fresh veggies. It was a Sunday afternoon when we came in and they only had a few other tables filled - I thought the food was really good and we had great service at first, but it was a little slow once we got our entrees (trying to get boxes and our check took a bit). I love food. I've worked in restaurants both fine and not so much. I've done the service end and been in the kitchen. This was food prepared with respect for the ingredients and with love of the doing. They aren't just following a recipe - you can tell they care about each dish and each ingredient. First off I ordered this to be delivered. It took some time but was well worth the wait. I started with the fried spring rolls - tasty and a repeat - not the best I've ever had but definitely a great value. The rolls were perfectly fried and the dough was almost like a delicious flaky phyllo. The layers retained their crisp even after the car ride and I can only imagine how good they'd be right from the kitchen. There's three of them as opposed to two (which makes that a great value) plus the sauce is very excellent. Sweet with a little kick to it. Yumm. I also ordered and tasted the shrimp pad Thai and the lamb chops. OMG seriously amazing. The pad Thai is what I use to compare Thai restaurants. This was sweet, savory, has a tiny spice taste and is wonderfully balanced. The shrimp cooked to absolute perfection - made me wish I had ordered extra shrimp. Pad Thai generally doesn't travel that well in my experience and this was no exception. That the taste is that delicious after a car ride is a testament to the preparation. There's enough for two people in this order. Lastly the lamb yang. This dish is worth going there for. The lamb is so tender and flavorful that you'd think they slow roasted it for hours. There's layers of taste to this that are complex and incredibly satisfying. The broccoli it came with made me stop. The rice was fresh, fragrant and each kernel gleamed. The carrot as beautifully prepared as the rest. You can taste the respect for the food in those veggies. Amazing. Also I had enough for leftovers - at least dortwo or three more meals. Worst food I've had in a while. I usually eat Chinese or Japanese food but me and the wife thought we would try this new place. What a mistake that was, the most expensive item on our receipt,12.95 turned out to be only half a bowl of food.The rest of the food was still a little on the low side on quantity. Very good Thai Food. I've been to this Thai place before but it has been awhile. Simply put, the service is good, the ambience and interior decor is enjoyable and very well done. Most importantly the food is a strong selling point as I found all the flavors were there. I will say the loss of 2 stars is my honest opinion that the price point is a bit steep. I love food. And even more-so, I love eating out and enjoying foods all of all different cultures. As I sat down to order food, though the food is the star of this show, this star is asking for a bit more in dollars than what is provided out on the table. We love Thai Thyme! We usually order the duck rolls as an appetizer, so good! It comes with a dipping sauce and it's almost like have Peking duck but in a fun roll! My go to entree is the crispy duck in basil sauce, I don't have anything bad to say about this! Even with pick up it's always hot and crispy, comes with rice! This place has been bookmarked on my yelp for quite some time so finally decided to give it a shot! It was only 5 miles from where I live and I can't believe I've never been to this area. We went on a weekday around dinner time. It was pretty empty at first, but quickly got busier. We ordered the papaya salad, Tom kha soup, beef drunken noodles, and chicken ka prow. Everything was delicious! I have to say it is even better than my old favorite local Thai spot. The server was friendly. Waters were filled quickly. The only thing was the place is a dead zone. Ordered take out today. Extremely overpriced for what you get. $14-$18 per order for very small portions. I ordered mixed vegetables with shrimp. I got 5 shrimps, a couple of slices of carrots, and a few leafy veggies. My entire meal would fit in a small cup. I had to make a sandwich after finishing because I was still hungry. I also got shrimp fried rice. Again a couple of shrimps, a hand full of carrot cubes, and a few peas. Real pathetic. Total for the family was around $100 for 4 adults and 2 children. Great Thai place! We came here on a weekday so it was pretty empty. The service was wonderful! They were fast and patient with us (we had no idea what we wanted to order). Looking around, they seem to have a different deal every day which is awesome. It's a clean restaurant with cool decorations! We started with the duck roll and wow!! Definitely order these. The sauce it came with was to die for. It was kind of sweet, but also thick. The duck was flavorful. I ordered the crispy beef which was pretty good! It was a little dry though, but put some soy sauce on it and it's great. I got the sticky rice too and it was perfect! The service was great, and the food came out quickly (part of that might be due to the fact that it was early for dinner, and there was only one other couple there. Both dishes tasted wonderful! My family and I came in here one night and ordered what felt like one of everything. My parents don't each out much but when we do most of the time it's thai food and Thai Tyme didn't disappoint. The interior was beautiful and the two people who helped us throughout the night (and took our many orders) were super helpful. We started with steam dumplings (HIGHLY RECOMMEND, they come in fives and I wish I didn't have to share with my family), fried tofu, calamari, papaya salad, and spicy wings. The steam dumplings and papaya were delicious, and I normally don't eat papaya salads. Tofu was very tasty as far as tofu goes (grandma was with us, she approved), spicy wings had a unique flavor to it, but the calamari was nothing special. The tom yum soup was very tasty and bold in flavor and the portion was actually very generous. I was expecting your average rice bowl size but it was almost twice that size. For our entrees we got the crabmeat fried rice, crispy whole flounder with sweet and sour sauce, and drunken noodles. The fried rice and noodles were also good and had a lot of flavor to them, but I personally like my fried rice a little on the drier side than what it came out to be. Thai Thyme offers flounder in multiple sizes at varying market prices and we got the largest they had to offer. The fish was well cooked, super crispy, but unfortunately the sauce it was paired with did not complement it well. The sauce itself was good and I enjoyed it on my rice, but I would have much rather enjoyed it with fish sauce with some ginger. For dessert (we are just a family of five but we ate like a family of ten) we got the roti, the coconut ice cream, and the fried bananas. We enjoyed all the desserts but I think everyone agrees the roti was the favorite - imagine a crepe wrapped in sugar (perhaps brown sugar?) dipped in condensed milk. First time I ordered pad thai I asked for extra sauce but it was delivered extremely dry and was barely edible. Second time I made sure I called and practically pleaded for them to make it extra saucy and not over cook it they said yes, they made sure of it.
