Nice ambiance, attentive service. Not the best Thai I've ever had but pretty good. It also offers lunch specials. Worth popping into if you are on 99 in Katy and feeling Thai and you're already too far from Katy Asia Town. Lots of parking since it's in the strip mall with a huge Kroger.

I got the crying tiger steak and it was SO GOOD!! The meat was cooked perfectly to medium rare, just as I had asked for. I loved that it came with sticky rice AND papaya salad! Although I was slightly confused with the steamed vegetables. I ate it all, but they weren't seasoned at all. The sauce that came with was good too. The only thing was the meat was pretty well seasoned for me so it was a bit too salty for me when I dipped it into the sauce. The service was promptly and our server was friendly. Minor complaint, my friend's entree took a while longer for it to come out for whatever reason when she got a pad Thai.

Order one thing got another. What can you do. Maybe we have to come in and sit down because delivery prices was crazy. 20$ and it isn't what we even wanted

Urban Thai Kitchen has not lost its touch. Still the best Thai restaurant in Houston area. As we ordered the lunch special, we also go cup of soup, egg roll and salad. Soup was tom yum chicken with good number of chicken pieces and mushrooms. Egg roll with the sweet chili sauce was good as well. We ordered the green chicken curry. They use Thai eggplants (small one) and was delicious. Ordered the basil stir fried ground pork & egg rice plate. Ground pork was very tasty. Comes with fried basil that were crispy. We ended our meal with the mango sticky rice. Instead of the standard white rice, they used purple rice. Probably one of the best in Houston. Service was quick. It wasn't busy when we came in on a Saturday morning. Restaurant is very nicely decorated. They have a wall of the Thai alphabets. Definitely will come again when we are in the area. Highly recommend to check them out. This is our go to place after Thai Gourmet closed down.

My colleagues and I come here quite a frequently for lunch. The service is amazing, the food is excellent quality and I absolutely love this place. I highly recommend giving it a try their lunch special it absolutely an amazing value A soup, a salad and egg roll and an entrée is a steal. And the ambience is cozy and friendly. Absolutely a hidden gem that needs to be checked out.

This week I tried the Tom Yum Pork/Shrimp Wonton soup on the lunch menu! This place never misses! I can always count on consistent Thai flavor and quality in the food prep for their customers. The prices have increased but I still think it's a good value for the amount of food and quality you receive at this family-owned Thai restaurant and I always refer all my friends in the area to try them out. I love to order my favorite dishes; the green and red curry, pad kee mao, pad see ewe, shrimp pad thai, basil friend rice and khao soi. My favorite appetizers are the money bags, shrimp rolls, and tulip port dumplings. So if you're in the area stop and try it. Sometime the mom owner will come out and great you to say hello. She's even treated me to a delicious Thai tea which is equally delicious. Can you tell I enjoying eating at the place...LOL

Urban Thai is a restaurant located in a shopping strip near Kroger. Cozy setting if dining in. Service was pretty good overall. The Thai tea was a little too sweet. Got mild spice for all 3 dishes. Pad kee mao with chicken was delicious but more on the sweeter side (probably shouldve done medium spice?). Was not too crazy about the chicken khao soi. It's savory and chicken quality was great, but I've had better at other restaurants. Finally, for the massaman curry, the SO picked beef as the protein. I personally would've chosen chicken or tofu. You can tell from the cuts that the beef was going to be tough to chew (and it was). Aside from the beef, everything else in the curry was delicious! There was an option to choose naan or rice. This restaurant is worth trying once!

Great food. Good service. Restaurant is always clean with a pleasant atmosphere. We are fans of the lunch special that comes with soup, salad, and a spring roll.

Thai Tea: Sweet, delicious, and exactly what a traditional Thai tea should taste like--no complaints at all. It was rich, refreshing, and one of the highlights of the meal for me. Che Tai: The Che Tai tasted a little too artificial for my liking and was definitely different from the version I'm used to. It may have also seemed less sweet since I was drinking Thai tea alongside it, but overall, this was probably my least favorite drink of the night. Crying Tiger: This was probably my family's favorite dish of the evening. Paired with rice, the meat was flavorful and well-seasoned, though on its own it leaned slightly salty for me. The texture was also a bit too chewy, and I personally would have preferred a crispier bite. Even so, the flavor was still enjoyable, and both my father and brother really liked it. Grilled Atlantic Salmon Curry: The presentation was beautiful, and the salmon had a nice crisp on the outside. However, I could tell it was slightly overcooked, and the meat itself tasted a little bland, almost as if it had been frozen for too long. The Panang curry was comforting and coconut-forward with a creamy texture that I enjoyed, though it lacked the sharper punch I've had from other Panang curries. Lobster Papaya Salad: I liked this dish much more than the seafood salad. The seasoning was mellow, and the fresh young papaya was well-seasoned and refreshing. Unfortunately, the lobster still had a slight fishy taste that didn't sit well with me afterward. We ordered everything mild since my brother can't handle spice. My father thought the salad was too sour, but my brother enjoys sour flavors, so he liked it more than we did. I also personally didn't enjoy the green beans included in the salad. Yum Talay Seafood Salad: This salad had a softer, more acidic flavor, but I wish the taste had been crisper and brighter overall. The sourness felt muted in a way that didn't fully work for me. It was still decent, just not a standout dish for our family. Service & InKind Experience: The service throughout the meal was a big reason why I still gave this place 4-stars. Our waiter was attentive, friendly, and already familiar with the fact that we were using InKind, which made everything feel smooth and effortless when it came time to pay the bill. Overall, Thaicoon had beautiful presentation, attentive service, and a few dishes my family genuinely enjoyed. While some of the flavors didn't fully land for me personally, the atmosphere, service, and seamless InKind experience still made it a solid visit.

I tried so many Thai places looking for a Thai yellow curry with chicken that's comparable- and just could not find it anywhere. A friend mentioned this place, and well, I live in the Heights so this is a trek for me. I will travel for yellow curry though, so trek it I did! I'm so glad I did. This place has now become one of my go-to's and has been added to my rotation. I go pretty often, and I dread the drive everytime until I get a taste of their food. It's also where I take my out of town visitors- it's that good. Located within a strip mall, but it's got a cute ambience, with low key music, and wallpaper that pretties the place up. My regular order includes their Thai tea, cheese rolls, yellow curry with chicken, pad Thai (wrapped in an omelet- so cool!) and their fried rice. Alllllll of it is so good. Oh whoops and my husband loves their beef drunken noodles. The servers are all super friendly and always helpful with suggestions. I couldn't recommend this place enough. But also don't go so much that I can't get a table please!

Soft music, white and red walls with Thai decor. Natural lighting during the day with warm interior lighting. It appears that there has been a makeover to the restaurant. I like the new look more. It seems more upscale in appearance. Dress code here is business casual. 4. Food - I've had their YELLOW CURRY WITH CHICKEN AND WHITE RICE. The only complaint I have, although not exactly about cleanliness, I would suggest that management take a look at the lock in the men's restroom. Although it was locked, someone was able to enter still. SUMMARY This is a petite Thai cafe. Everything about this place was enjoyable. I would definitely come back to try again and will highly recommend this place.

BF hosted a major get-together for friends and chose this gem as the gathering spot. No regrets all…read morearound--everyone thought it was a great place to eat, catch up, and spend the afternoon. Malaysian Grilled Chicken Satay - Super tender with a sweet peanut sauce that really accentuated the flavors. Probably my favorite appetizer so far--had to be extra careful around my BF after this! Definitely my brother's personal favorite; I'm sure he ate 3 of them! Hainanese Chicken & Rice - Very tender and chewy with a mild flavor. The ginger-and-scallion sauce at the bottom was very refreshing, and the aromatic rice was among the most delicious I've had! I saw that the grains looked similar to Vietnamese broken rice because they weren't fully rounded. For some reason, this made the texture so much more appealing to me. Curry Chicken Puff - Love the curry flavor of this and the delicacy of the puff pastry. The shell isn't too thick, and the vegetables are very well infused with the curry, making them strong contributors to the overall flavor. Despite it being a pastry, I didn't feel overwhelmed by the carbs--indicating that the breading-to-stuffing ratio of this sat at the perfect pinnacle. Malaysian Roti Canai - One of my absolute favorite dishes here. I would come to this place just for this--the whole table compared the combo to crack. No joke. The chicken and potatoes are some of the most tender pieces in this dish, and you could slurp the broth like it's its own dish. I watched this go way too fast, and even two orders per table were not enough to satisfy the crowd. Malaysian Roti Canai (w. Egg) - Love the original much more, but this was still very delicious. They made the egg very thin, so it didn't overwhelm the roti. The egg took away from my favorite roti taste, but it was so well seasoned I wasn't even that angry about it. Malaysian Char Kuey Teow (Migoreng) - OOH. This has a unique flavor --much more savory than packaged ramen. The texture of the noodles is very inviting. It's much less salty compared to the pre-packaged Migoreng. The flavor was more umami. Rich, deep, and just the perfect amount to coat the noodles. Stir-Fried Mixed Vegetable (w. Tofu) - This is a very saucy vegetable dish, but I didn't mind it at all. I loved it, though it was the last dish I had and I was definitely stuffed by then. The sauce reminds me of a thinner Migoreng sauce--more viscous than a loose sauce, but not as thick as Migoreng. Very good, but my taste buds were definitely overwhelmed by then. Malaysian Milk Tea - Not as sweet as I expected. I was told the tea leaves were imported from Malaysia, and our table ended up ordering six of them. The lingering bitterness in the aftertaste is something I'm very fond of, and the tea flavor is exceptionally rich. The milk infusion in this is exceptional. Malaysian Lime "Calamansi" & Plum Drink - Tasted like a lime-tamarind drink to my BF, while my brother and I thought it tasted like Vietnamese chanh muối. Overall, Uncle Chin's lived up to the hype, just as I knew it would from the day my BF brought home leftover roti from his very first visit. The buzz of having 16 people definitely distracted me from paying close attention to every dish--I even missed taking a few photos--but one thing remained true: everyone was talking about the food. Every time a new dish came out, the table erupted with commentary about its flavor, uniqueness, and overall impact. Some dishes stole the show more than others (my lovely roti, hello), but every single one earned its place on the menu. Very sad we didn't get to see Uncle Chin sing, but with 16 people to serve during the lunch rush, I'm sure he was pretty overwhelmed.
