Tasty food and fresh. Flavors just right. Tending towards pricy but it is on "the island" so you expect that.

One of the best places to eat in Lantana. We always get the Tom Yum Soup (the spices are on point), Edamame (always perfectly salted) , and recently the Bangkok shrimp has become our favorite rolls due to our amazing waitress' suggestion, (followed by the Mexican roll ((especially in mango season)) and Dragon roll). The beef satay comes sizzling hot with amazing honey/garlic and Thai peanut sauces. Their spring rolls are so crispy and light, served with a sweet orange sauce. We've also enjoyed the dim sum, gyoza, and Asian Bbq ribs. All are quite tasty . Everything here is so fresh and delicious. Never had a bad experience or meal here. The red bean ice cream is our favorite sweet here, followed by the Thai tea and Thai donuts (so crispy and light with the sweet condensed milk drizzled on) Fridays and Saturdays they have live piano and singing, which we always enjoy. Table side lotus candles and handmade painting on the walls. Great management who always great us with a smile no matter how long since we've been back! Amazing food, even better service. Can't ever go wrong. Thaikyo sits at the end of a strip mall located right across the street from an ocean-front hotel we are visiting. After eating a couple of meals in the hotel, we decided to venture out for some sushi on a Monday night. Thaikyo was just a quick walk. I made our reservation through Yelp, so we were easily accommodated upon arrival. It was busy - people we're at the bar and the restaurant was nearly full! It took a little while for waitress to visit our table, but once she did everything rolled right along. We ordered Miso soup and vegetable spring rolls as our appetizers. For dinner, we tried two sushi rolls (My First Love and Dragon Roll II). I'm allergic to all fish except salmon, which the waitress and kitchen navigated perfectly. We splurged on a bit of rice, too, with my boyfriend ordering a side of chicken fried rice and me a side of steamed white rice. We couldn't finish it all and that was the plan. We just wanted to try a bit of everything. It was delicious - EVERY bite! If we lived here, we would definitely be regulars at Thaikyo. We placed an order for pick up. Price was higher when we went to get it, we were told prices were rising every day. Get the food home, we order ribs... 4 RIBS for $18?? Sesame shrimp was terrible.Over cooked and dry. Chicken & broccoli was just not good. Gyoza tasted nothing like a gyoza I've ever tried. I did like the crab rangoons. It was just a waste of money. Saw the reviews and decided to give Thaikyo a try. Got seated right away. Service was very professional and attentive. Meals were tasteful and portion size plentiful. Hot and sour soup was good. We found the waitress unknowledgeable about any food in the restaurant which was confounding. When we ordered, there was a long wait. After the meals arrived, we decided that the wait wasn't worth it. The decor was pleasant, but that's not worth anything when the food doesn't measure. read more

You haven't tried Thaikyo yet? Great food has no borders. Chinese, Thai, Japanese are all favorites of mine and I am very picky and critical which is why I try so many different restaurants. I am always searching for a great meal. As luck would have it, this was one of my first stops after just moving to Florida and I was glad I did. I noticed Buddha depicted beautifully on the upper wall on the right as I entered the restaurant, an auspicious sign for sure. They are billed as an "Asian Fusion" restaurant and now I understand why. As I was led to my table, I noticed how beautiful the sushi dishes leaving the sushi bar and being delivered to seated patrons, about to enjoy a feast to behold. But confusion struck. What would I order? I came for Thai food and now I want sushi. Such a third world problem... I thought as I browsed the menu. The menu is fairly standard; lots of curries, pad thai, Buddha delight and such, but then I noticed a few interesting standouts. The Pok Takk looked amazing (in my mind as I read the menu description) and so did the Midnight Steak, both unique to me, I kept reading. OK, I will confess, I came for a plate of Pad Thai, I had a hankering since I left Massachusetts, and this was just about next door to my new apartment. So, I decided to get it and put the exotic stuff aside for the moment. I placed my order and within a few minutes, a full portion of one of my favorite Thai dishes arrived. It was good, not like my usual Pad Thai, but really good and unique. That was all I needed to know because I vowed to return soon and dig deeper into their delicacies to see what else I would enjoy. Not two days later, I was back. Once I get an idea into my head, I'm fixated and silently yet deliberately drawn back. This time, I wanted another all-time favorite. I wanted to Red Curry with Shrimp. Ahh, I know it well, I've sampled it many times in many places, including Bang Kok and if you can't enjoy Thai food in Thailand then stick the Tex-Mex. But, this time I added a few select sushi items to my already crowded little table. The Tamago is said to be the actual test of a great sushi bar, but I have no idea why. It's sweetened scramble egg on rice. Why??? No idea, but I ordered that and the Salmon and Tuna. The sushi came first. Rice temperature? perfect. Not cold, not warm, chilled exactly the right way, sticky but not too sticky. The salmon was buttery smooth, served atop a perfect mound of hand-formed rice. I tiny dab of wasabi to which I added a small amount of soy sauce. While in Japan, we had sushi at several wonderful spots and watched as the natives barely used any soy sauce, while us Americans drowned out the natural flavor of that chef's creation with the stuff. I learned my lesson, go easy on the soy sauce and enjoy the natural flavor of the fish himself. So I did. I was glad. It was awesome. I scarfed down the sushi in a moment of bliss. Note to self, slow down will ya? Yummm I was wonderful. Knowing my curry dish was on the way, I deliberately left some of the rice behind and hoped I had enough room for the main course. My waiter arrived, plate in hand, ceremoniously clearing my dining area and lightly, slowly lowered my dinner to the level table, which made it even more wonderful than it would soon become. The temperature was perfect, it didn't linger long in the kitchen before being served, the spice was a bit soft for me, I like the heat. Note to self, order it extra spicy next time, but the flavor was wonderful. The coconut milk base was not thin like water (some are,) a deep orange/red with a lot of aromas. I inhaled as I savored that first bite. It was heaven. I was full after the first few bites but that didn't stop me from finishing it. The experience of a great dish, served at the right temperature is a bit rare and when it happens, I have to sieze the moment and enjoy it to the fullest extent of my capacity, which isn't very big. Finally, I was done for now, but not for long. The following weekend I returned with my daughter in tow, she likes appetizers and that's what she ordered. She loved them and declared that dad found us a great new place to eat. She was right, I did. Sadly, I can't have every meal here, but I happily return as often as possible to try another delightful option. It's a beautiful place, the food has been consistently good for me, but a bit pricy for some. I would rather eat a great meal than get medical attention so I don't mind paying for a great experience at an amazing restaurant. Go see for yourself, but come hungry! read more

Very disappointed with this place. Pretty on the outside but the food and service not so good. For appetizer We ordered the Tom Kah (coconut chicken) Soup which was extremely bland and the chicken tasted Super over cooked or out of a chicken of the seas can. For main dish We ordered the Drunken Noodles dish with (again with the sad super over cooked or out of a chicken of the seas can) Chicken. This dish though not as bland was over cooked. I have not been to Thaikyo in a couple of years. Very disappointed. I will say our server was nice. My friend ordered a glass of red wine and it had turned. Really stunk. Server even smelled turned his nose and said it shouldn't have sat out so long. Ordered well cooked Edamame. Came out cold. Sent back and it came out barely warm. The Shrimp Pad Thai was very bland. My friend had Drunken noodles and there were not very many noodles and was soupy. Finally my friend sees a giant spider web attached to the booth to the ceiling right above my head. read more

I wanted to surprise my wife for Valentine's Day by bringing her here to Thaikyo, we had been here before and she loved it. However on this night 2/14/21 it was not so special, we had some questions about certain items on the menu and it took forever to get someone to help us and even then he wasn't sure. So we ordered really not knowing exactly what we were getting. And on several occasions two young guys were constantly taking or trying to take plates from our table when we weren't done eating, how Rude ! I literally had to say we are not done as he was grabbing our plates that still had a little food on them. and last but not least some inconsiderate guy kept pushing back on his seat which was also the back of mine.overall not to happy on this special occasion. read more

I tried the red and green curry. Both were quite a high price so I assumed it would be very large or have quality ingredients . Just moving into the area I was looking for a good place to get some food and I spotted this restaurant while at publix. It's my anniversary with my husband and we both work late and was looking forward to getting some food after a long day of working..also wanted to just relax at home with some take out to have some fun during this stressful time of Covid-19. We got our take out and opened up the food and I wanted the chicken teriyaki and when I opened it, I was beyond upset because the chicken was extremely dry and the sauce was on the side. The person who took our order didn't mention to us that it was going to be on the side, which they should mention to their customers. I called the restaurant to express that I was upset about this and wanted to see if we would be able to get a credit, or maybe be able to have it re-made. When I called one of the females who work there pulled the phone away from her face and mocked what I had just told her to the manager I'm assuming. The manager came on the phone and told me that since they closed at 10:00 pm and we called at 10:05pm that there is nothing they could do and that they feel as if they did us a favor by taking our order even after they were closed. We only called there because on google and iPhone maps it shows that the restaurant closes at 11:00 pm. If they closed at 10:00 they simply could have told us that they were unable to take our order. I have NEVER had an issue like this from a restaurant and I am beyond disappointed and upset because why should someone be treated like that.... My husband and I just recently moved here from California so the whole All Of The Asian Foods In One Place thing is quite new to us. We were skeptical but this place looked great from the outside so we gave it a try. (You serve Tom Kha Gai AND sushi?)(Really?)(This is so weird... because like, back home we had separate Thai and Japanese restaurants and never the twain would meet.) First of all the location itself is beautiful, even for a strip mall location. I really love the decor and the outdoor seating is lovely. The service was fantastic. Our server was prompt, attentive and I could swear she could read our minds. She always appeared right when we wanted her there. Couldn't have wanted more from our server. The food.... was mostly good. I have to admit that I was disappointed with the tom kha, it tasted a bit flavorless to me although I'll admit it's possible my taste buds are fried after years of misuse. I've eaten a lot of explosively spicy food through the years. Also, I'm a complete maniac about soup and trend toward being ridiculously picky which may explain why I was also disappointed in the miso. Yeah, two soups in one meal because I am ridiculously in love with the soups. I thoroughly enjoyed the ginger chicken however. I'm also ridiculously picky about how my vegetables were cooked and the veggies in this dish were perfect. Chicken was tender, not over-cooked, dish was flavorful and I loved it. Very good food! Ate there in 2018, and again today and was not disappointed. They don't disappoint if you ask for your dish to be "Thai" hot and spicy! Their hot and spicy sauces are absolutely amazing. Lots of heat, and good flavor! The waitstaff are really good as well as I have both ate there and did takeout. My only warning is the parking. It's next to impossible to find a space during snowbird season as Basil and Publix is crazy busy, so research the best times to go if you want to go in and eat. Definitely worth every second of it, and takeout is hot and fresh. We will definitely be returning! read more
