It's not very far from where I live, so it's always to come here and not drive very far. The service is great and the waiters/waitresses are kind and take their work seriously. Their chicken drumsticks are so amazing. It's crispy on the outside and cooked tender- it's just right and it's absolutely satisfying to eat. The fried rice is all right, it's not the best but it's better than most asian restaurants. Their pho is always a must, the broth is just right and a little more rich than most clear broths. Their sandwiches are good. I took my husband their for the first time. We ordered pad thai for our 2 year old with no peanuts, because she is allergic. They specifically came back to ask if their was an allergy. We explained it was for our daughter who has allergies. When we got our entree it was spicy! They wouldn't correct it, and explained pad thai is normally spicy. So my daughter went home hungry until we got home. My husband was very disappointed and will not being going back. His family owns a Vietnamese restaurant, and he would have accommodated his customers better. read more

We were very disappointed with the bubble tea. The bubbles in the tea were hard and not chewy. We had them remake it twice and still same result. The bubbles tasted stale. They didn't even offer to take it off the bill. The soups were ok not the best. One soup tasted like just a big bowl of corn starch! Pretty good pho for being in the suburbs. The broth itself was tasty in the Pho Tai that I ordered but lacked a depth of flavor to bring it to the next level of "wow this is amazing" for me. This is a convenient place to stop by for a quick lunch whenever I'm craving pho or vermicelli noodle salad. The veggies with the pho order are always fresh- no wilty basil or old bean sprouts- a huge plus! The service is fast. I also tried their Spring Rolls and wasn't super impressed because the shrimp, pork, noodles all seemed a little on the dry side and the filling was almost all noodles and lettuce. It just reminds me of how much better homemade spring rolls are when you can put as many whole shrimp (not cut in half like so many restaurants do) and veggies in the roll. Anyway, it was worth a try. I've also tried a couple of their American Chinese dishes in the past and wouldn't order again. Stick to the Vietnamese offerings on the menu and you'll be a happy camper. read more

I moved to the northwestern suburbs of the Twin Cities a year ago and always went to Minneapolis or St. Paul for authentic Vietnamese food. I finally thought that I should find some Vietnamese restaurants in my area and decided to try this place with my sister the other week. For being a Vietnamese restaurant, I was a little bummed that they only had three options for pho. I asked for beef and meatball pho and the broth was clear and flavorful. It is reasonably price and the service was quick and friendly. I'm glad I have now found a place near my house for pho, but do wish they had more Vietnamese dish options - including more pho options. read more

Yay! Finally, a great Vietnamese restaurant in the NW suburbs! I no longer have to drive all the way to St. Paul or Mpls for good Vietnamese food. Thanh Vi's rice platter and bun are definitely one of the best I have tried in the Twin Cities. Unfortunately their pho is not as good. Fortunately, I tend to get the rice platter more and just eat pho at home anyway. Their desserts are good too; try their tri color and their DELICIOUS almond cookies. OMG You have to try them. They are the most buttery, flakey, and yummy cookies ever. We always get a package when we stop by. And we stop by A LOT. At least 2-4x a month. Sometimes, I feel embarrassed coming here so much. I'm wondering if they're thinking, "Didn't we just see you last week? Do you people even cook?" We have been coming here since they opened a few years ago. Service has improved a lot. I saw them struggle at the beginning (I believe this is their first restaurant), but the owners and the whole staff are very nice. Another great meal at my favorite local Viet restaurant! Why do I keep going back? 1. I love their pho tai. Am I a pho expert? No. All I know is this soup eats like a meal. The plate of basil, jalapeno slices and bean sprouts is the freshest available. Add the extras and some Sriracha sauce to the pho and you are all set. 2. The dinner combos are terrific value/flavor and include a side item such as eggroll. Again, am I an eggroll expert? No. But Thanh Vi eggrolls are freshly fried, hefty, full of flavor and come with a delicious lighter dipping sauce. Service on this visit was delivered on a carousel, but 2 out of 3 were friendly and the owner knows my name- which is nice. Exotic- No. Expensive- No. Flavor- Yes. Quality- Yes. Value- Big Yes! Stopped here for lunch with my son today, a first time for both of us. We both were very pleased. We shared an order of egg rolls. They were really good and could be a meal on their own if you wanted them to be. I ordered chicken chow fun. The chicken chow fun was heavenly, the light char on the chicken, the vegetables had just enough crunch, not too oily or greasy, perfect proportions of meat/onion/bean sprouts. It was as close to perfection as it could be. It made me wonder if they made their own noodles. And if not, where do they get theirs from? My son had the beef pho and said it was really good. It looked really good, with a lot of condiments on the table to customize it to his taste. As far as the service goes, I'm not quite sure who our server was, because it seems like it traded between a few people. Also, it seemed like the servers today (Sunday) were in their late teens. So I don't really expect excellent service from that age group, so I gave a pass for that. And we were served our meals at different times as well (someone else mentioned this in another comment). I appreciate this attention to detail because I like eating my food while it's hot. I think that chow fun can turn greasy on you if it sits for too long, so I was okay with this small breach of restaurant etiquette, as it depends on the dish. Lastly, we ordered the bubble tea. The Honeydew flavor. OMG. I'm going to have serious cravings for that stuff! Even if the tapioca pearls on the bottom are kinda creepy. Came here for lunch yesterday, they had a very clean atmosphere. Great staff and service. Fastest i've ever gotten food in an asian restaurant, don't know if it's always like that or if its because it wasn't as busy when we were there. Ordered the chicken wings, beef potatoes, honey walnut shrimp, and special fried rice. The beef potatoes was delicious. The potatoes were nicely thin and fried to crisp like potato chips, loved the flavoring too. The walnut shrimp was kind of disappointing though, the batter was way too thick and doughy. I wouldn't recommend this dish here. The chicken wings and the fried rice was ok. They were good, nothing too special, but nothing bad about it either. This review is only on two things: one my take out experience and two the egg roll. The man who took my order and delivered my food upon walking in through the doors was extremely friendly, he asked me how my day was and genuinely seemed happy that I was ordering from his restaurant. In breaking open the bag as soon as I got to my car (I needed a treat before I got home) I was greeted with a golden, crunchy and thick pork eggroll easily the best I've had in Minnesota in being a native. Amazing food! Egg rolls are the best. I've only see a few places in my travels make their egg rolls the way they do. Full menu of Asian food and the back half is all authentic Vietnamese. Going get Pho next time. It was a warm day the last I was there. I did try their Pad Thai and it's great! I could elaborate on many dishes we've tried. All are good. Lastly, clean and well run. You can tell the owner and management have this place organized. I've been to so many Asian restaurants and since it's all family and too many cooks in the kitchen (so to say) the place is run like a family kitchen and not a business. My boyfriend and I eat here pretty frequently and I always leave impressed. It is very hard to find good Vietnamese restaurants in the north metro. I especially like their Pad Thai. I've been in here twice within the last two days their Pho was great, although I was expecting a little bit more "pop" to the broth before adding my own spices and sauces. I've had their beef pho both times, as well as cream cheese wontons (delicious) and an egg roll. My first time here, I ordered Five sandwiches and I came to pick it up, sadly one of the staff members gave me an order of two only. I had to come back, wait for them to make some more. This is my first review ever on Yelp or on any restaurants. I guess I was that annoyed of them tonight that I made an account just for this. My family of ten and I tried to eat there for dinner tonight. Aparently they closed the doors before the hours listed online, 8pm. There were still customers in the restaurant when we got there. So I'm thinking the doors were probably closed by 7:30pm. I guess we won't be going there anytime soon. What kind of customer service is this when they won't allow customers in up until cosing time? Maybe they ran out of food for us, but who knows we weren't even allowed access. This reminds me about a time a while back when my family went there for dinner and they ran out of pho noodles. How can a restaurant keep customers when they don't have enough food available? Don't get me wrong their food is not bad, but they don't have good customer service. Sometimes, for customers it's the way we get treated from the workers there that would make us decide to go back there or not. read more

I've been coming to this restaurant for almost 5 years and it has slowly been going down hill but today the food was awful. You can tell when the cooks have changed because so has the food. This place has soda and the carbonation is off because the coke taste like diet but I always looked past it because the spring rolls and wontons are great, hence the 3-star rating. Today I got #67 RARE BEEF PHO which I always get. And it came out pipping hot but my beef was already fully cooked and the rice noodles were over-cooked and practically mush in noddle form. I was unsatisfied with my meal I didn't even finish it all like I usually do. Today's pho was not up to par with what they usually serve... and mind you, I probably eat here 3-4 times a month. Another thing was all my food came at different periods as well, my pho, then my appetizer followed by my second appetizer and finally after about what seemed like 5-10mins my children's combination platter. I expected more from this place where I regularly go and enjoy. Time to find a new spot. read more

The service was okay until they forgot to bring water. I had to go up to the front desk and tell them . The waiters seemed embarrassed. I said it was okay. It wasn't busy because it was a Thursday afternoon. The waiters jut sit around and there were still tables left to clean. The place isn't very clean only in the morning of course. Nothing really popped to me. But next door there's another restaurant, Thai Fusion, and their service was WAYY better . It was small but busy. Their food is excellent and cheap. We came here for the first time. I ordered the pho and my husband ordered egg noodles. Also got spring rolls. The waiter was friendly but not pushy which is what I like.
