Before I start, I do not know this restaurant, I don't know any owner or employees that work here. This was my very first time hearing about this place let alone eating here. It's my girlfriend and I anniversary and she really wanted Italian food. She looked around for at least 30min until she found this place, and I will not lie it looked really nice, so we went. We get there the place is beautifully done up. We order our food and we wait about 20-30 min. It finally gets to us I ordered the gnocchi and I get two bites in and there was a large piece of black plastic in my food. I pull it out and we waited about 15 min before she finally checks in on us for me to tell her about the problem. I'm letting you know I hate confrontation and I do not like to complain I promise you that. I told her nicely," I found this piece of something in my food..." and before I can go on she takes my plate and says "sorry about that" and just walks away. She takes the plate to the back and then comes back out 2 min later and starts taking the orders of her other (larger) table. Which okay I get it they are where your bigger tip is going to come from can't keep them waiting. But also was kind enough rude. She gets what I think was the manager after and he says he's sorry and says I do not have to pay for my meal. I wanted to give a second chance and asked if I could please have the menu I will just order something else because hey, I'm still very hungry. My girl friend is upset about all this so I just order to go. Pay the Bill, and head back home (45 min away). So I open up the box heat up my ravioli eat one, and as I'm about to eat a second ravioli I notice the black hair. I pull it out to make sure and yes it's definitely a f..king hair. That being said I'll never go there again. They wasted my time, money, and gas also ruined our anniversary dinner. Like I said I have nothing to gain from "planting" anything in the food and complaining. Just want to spread awareness that the chef or cooks back there don't care about what you're eating so pay close attention to your food. read more

I've only visited one time for lunch, but I have a feeling the food is awesome all of the time. The restaurant was very busy on a Friday lunch hour. The walls were adorned with framed photos of Dean Martin and Rat Pack music played over the sound system. Either they LOVE Dean Martin or his family owns a stake in the restaurant. I started with an order of garlic bread ($3.79). A platter of eight large diagonally cut sections of bread arrived. This was only $3.79?!?! Wow! The bread was perfectly crisp on the outside and slightly soft in the center. The top half of the bread was soaked in butter, but too much. They applied the perfect amount of garlic and butter IMO. This was some of the best garlic bread I've had. I wish I would have added the cheese to the order. Next time.... The Chicken Parmigiana lunch special ($9.79) came with unlimited house salad with house Italian dressing and garlic bread sticks which were crispy and chewy with a coating of butter and garlic. The chicken breast was coated with bread crumbs mixed with Italian seasoning, and it was tender and juicy. The house made red sauce was on the sweet side. I can't believe it took me so long to try this place, definitely among the best Italian food anywhere in town. read more

Though my birthday was 2/10/2021, my sister wanted to treat me to a celebration lunch. She asked where I wanted to go and I didn't know. So, I suggested an Italian restaurant and insisted that it not be a pizza place. I wanted a pasta dish prepared by a pro. I certainly got what I asked for! The lunch menu didn't really explain the amount of food we'd be taking home. Really, it didn't matter, it's my lunch tomorrow. (and we all know Italian food is better the next day). We were served a salad with so much vinaigrette, the lettuce was wilted. Personally, I'm not thrilled with vinaigrette as a salad dressing. We should have been warned. The breadsticks were terrifically cold and dry. Not that it would've helped but where was the butter? It may have salvaged the heat lamp rampage we, as patrons, had to deal with. Let me regress just slightly. I should have known this experience wasn't going to be pleasant. We walked in, asked for a table for two, while the host was picking up our menus. He began to walk away without acknowledging us. Sometimes they check their seating, but this guy said, "Are you coming or what? In an effort to identify this guy, he had dark, curly hair. Stood about 5'10" and a bit on the chunky side. (Manager: check your schedule for who was host during lunch on 2/15/2021.) This employee needs to be spoken to, retrained in customer service. If I ever come back to That's Amore (This was my first time), I will pick out that employee and get a manager to speak of this. The restaurant was fairly busy, which is good to see, but I don't think certain tables were anywhere near the 6 foot space requirement. There were 2 chairs at tables of four who were too close to one another. Every other table should remain empty to comply with State rules. This final statement is a personal peeve of mine but you'll understand. I am diabetic, and I'm not the only one to ever patronize That's Amore. Most of us have to shoot our insulin approximately 15 minutes prior to eating a meal. I noticed your establishment didn't provide a sharps container. It's obvious that your restaurant has no concern about their workers and customers. Those little needles are extremely sharp and will stab through a garbage bag easily and insert itself into the skin. There is blood and germs on those things after they're used. A pair of rubber gloves isn't protection for anyone. Most likely it will be a worker who's exposed to blood-borne infection. It only takes the installation of a red, approved, locked container. Think about it. My diabetic friends have chosen to boycott establishments who put people at risk. The food was great, plentiful and a good deal for the price. 41 months ago I met a stranger in this fabulous restaurant. It was Wednesday Feb 18, 2018. We have been inseparable ever since. On the 18th of each month we have a date night. When the 18th falls on a Wednesday we excitedly return to the magical place that started our life together. The atmosphere, the staff, the food ALWAYS amazing! Just the same way as the restaurants name translates from Italian. That's Amore means That's LOVE! And yes if you visit this establishment you defiantly will find LOVE! I think this is more catered for the older crowd. It was remodeled a little bit looks better than before. They have pictures of Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. The food was just ok nothing to call Italy about. I'd prefer more seasonings on my lasagna and little less sauce and it was a little mushy in texture. The salad was decent just a little over dressed and good breadsticks come along with meal. There is a nice outside seating space looks nice with the flowers they have around it. Well a restaurant that I have been going to for over 20 years was a complete let down for my husband's birthday party. It was a surprise birthday that I called in a monnth in advance and explained it was a surprise and tHat I will be arriving 15 min aftEr everyone else shows. When we did show up I told the server my name and party for 2. She looked at her book and said "Oh! That big party that's upstairs!" I gave her a dirty look and my husband instantly knew he had a party upstairs for him. Then sHe got cocky with me and said she didn't knoW it was a surprise. The day before that I called and asked if I could bring a cake because I'm a cake decorator. They said sure for a extra charge of $1.50 a person... so I cake that's gonna cost me $20 to make will cost a extra $24.... When I asked why. They said cuz they cut the cake. I didn't need them to cut the cake. I needed nothing but some extra small dishes to put the cake on. So we go upstairs and our table was pushed all the way against the wall. So there was only one way in and one way ouT. So anytime someone to was sitting up against the wall had to get up or use the restroom. Everyone else had to stand up so they could get out. That small closed in room was packed with people was so loud because it was so closed in everyone was shouting at each other just to talk. Then our waitress asked if we wanted separate bills and we saId yes. Then a server stopped her and said don't do it that way because she will get a better tip! So she came back and said she can't do it that way for a party so big... Then she wrote on the bottom of the receipt how much her tip should be 20%. Unreal!!! read more

We were out in the area to see the Christmas lights at Boerners Gardens. We searched Yelp for a local, delicious restaurant. WOW! We were so impressed we had to hop on Yelp afterwards to write a review. First off, the adults meals come with a delicious salad and breadsticks. We didn't know about this beforehand and were so pleasantly surprised. I'm not a big salad eater but my mom LOVED it. She said the flavor was amazing and that they used fresh veggies. None of the lettuce was wilted and the olives were a nice touch. The kids liked the breadsticks. Immediately upon being seated we were all served waters, even the kids in kids cups. The kids got the Alfredo and Mac & cheese. Both good. They could use a little Parmesan to increase the flavor. Dad got the chicken Marsala which he said was delicious and homemade. Mom got the salmon with risotto. THE RISOTTO WAS SOOOO GOOD! She loved the asparagus too, it was Parmesan encrusted. Every touch they put on the food was appreciated. I got the cheese ravioli which were great. My kids enjoyed them too. I would highly recommend. Just delicious. The prices were good too. We had three adults and two kids in our party and the bill was under $90. The manager checked on us several times during the meal. The restaurant was bustling and he still made a point to do that, I appreciated that. We will def be back if we're in the area! read more

Very Rude!!! Called to schedule a funeral luncheon. When I said that to the woman who answered the phone, she snapped, "What's the date." I responded "12/30." She snapped, "I need the day you want to have it." I said, "I said 12/30." She said, "you want to have a funeral lunch today at 12:30?" I said, "No, on December 30th." She snapped, "Well, you didn't say that." I said, "You asked for the date and I gave it to you twice." She stated, "So, you want to have it at 12:30 on the 30th." I said, "I never said 12:30." She let out a huge sigh. I said, "Are we alright here." She said, "Well, obviously I'm having trouble understanding you." I said, Yes, obviously."Eventually, she said, I'm really swamped here. I will have to call you later." I waited several hours, but she never called back. I called back and unfortunately they transferred me to her. She must be the person for events. I did not refer to our previous conversation. I simply said, " I need to book a funeral lunch." she asked the date and when I told her, she said, "We're completely booked." I'm sure that was a lie. We made a reservation and the host was friendly and accommodating. Our waitress was helpful as we had a few questions about the menu as we hadn't been here in over 10 years. Our food was delicious, I'm already craving the spiedinis that I had. Loved their red sauce for the pasta and breadsticks, the salad was 10x better than olive garden, I can see why they sell their dressing. Also, loved the decor and patio is set up beautifully. This place was voted #1 Italian restaurant in Milwaukee. I'm not sure what #2 taste like, but this is way better than Louise's, Maggianos, Buca's & The Pasta Tree. The Chicken Marsala was so tender & simply delicious. The lasagne was melt in your mouth delicious. The calamari was the most tender I ever had (needs salt & and extra lemon slice). Nice old school Italian restaurant! Hating the local Italian chains the family and I enjoy coming here instead of the others. We usually order cheese ravioli, chicken parm, and fettuccine Alfredo. The entrees come with breadsticks and salad. We always add a little marinara for dipping the sticks. The sizes of the dishes are pretty big and we usually share so everyone gets a taste of each dish. read more

This place is a Hales Corners institution and one heck of a fine restaurant. I have always been a sucker for an appetizer called shrimp caprese which is large enough for a meal. I've had the steak sandwich french fried eggplant and shrimp alfredo and they have all been super delicious. My husband and I had lunch yesterday with our daughter and family. The asst. general manager Luis was very accommodating especially since we had 3 yr old twins. Our server Tony was very informative about the menu and how an item was prepared and saw to our every need. It was slightly disappointing. I usually order the tortelloni in a garlic and herb sauce expecting it to be like any other time I've been there which is rich and creamy, full of garlic and herbs. Not so much. It was yellowish and soupy reminding me of chicken noodle soup and the spice wasn't there but the salt definitely was! My boyfriend even puckered his lips after a taste. The salad which is everyone's favorite, I'm sure, was very wilted and seemed like we hit the bottom of the bag even if we were there early enough. Disappointing. Not sure I'll return. read more

We came her upon a recommendation from a friend. Honestly, I don't think it was worth the drive. The server we had was less than enthusiastic and our meal was mediocre. The red sauce overpowered the chicken part and the white sauce was congealed. I would have given them two stars but the manager came over and asked about our meal. He wanted to make things right but we weren't interested in waiting on another meal so he comped the food and sent over a tiramisu on the house. The tiramisu was delicious. Another bonus point was their drink prices. They were extremely reasonable. My husband's Peroni was only $3.50 and I didn't notice a bottle of wine over $24. read more

I don't know what the attraction is... I have tried to like their food but I am always disappointed. Friends keep inviting me to this terrible place, never again! This time I tried the Chicken Piccata...the worst ever! No capers? Who makes piccata with no capers? The breading totally separated from the chicken and the angel hair was dry and tasteless. Made a dinner reservation for our 2nd anniversary. I came here a good amount while growing up, but only remember ordering the fish fry. I had a craving for spaghetti and my husband wanted steak. The menu met both of those requests! We started with wine and really TASTY homemade fried calamari. It was a perfect start to the meal along with free salad and breadsticks. I love salad and this was a nice option, but it was not as good as another famous free salad offering. My spaghetti and meatballs were absolutely delicious and my husband was happy with his steak. They brought us a cute, free sundae for dessert! A few areas for improvement include the temperature of the restaurant - it was super HOT and that's saying something since I am usually freezing and it was pretty noisy too. The servers did a great job navigating the very crowded dining room, but a little more space between tables would be nice! We will definitely return next time we are craving Italian food! read more

On HWY 100 and Edgerton; Won prize for worst meal I've had; chicken cacciatore: bland and not a bit of flavor, no sauce, some dark reddish flavoring of something here and there, supposed to be sauce, mostly dry pasta and bite size pieces of chicken; then there were some bits of pepper probably 1/2 inch or smaller. Hard to imagine a restaurant could serve something of such poor quality. The sun room was lovely with beautiful plants and waitress excellent but all that did not make up for such poor food.. I think the pandemic has probably contributed to many restaurant problems with lack of help, etc.. A person I was with was not happy with the food as well. read more

I went to That's Amore with a group of my relatives. The staff seemed rushed and disinterested. I was disappointed that the service didn't equal my experience of their typically delicious food. We all enjoyed the house salad bowl and breadsticks. The house Merlot was a very nice accompaniment to that first course. I had the Chicken al Pietro. It was fabulous. Mushrooms, asparagus and sun dried tomatoes in a wonderful mushroom sherry cream sauce. The portion was so generous I enjoyed the leftovers for lunch the next day. My husband had the Sicilian steak with Fettuccine Alfredo combination. He said the platter was subpar. The steak was small and dry and the pasta was dry as well. So it was a 50/50 night! Meh! This is a blah version of Olive Garden. The portions are hearty, but the food just isn't very good. It tends to be the place where you'll find hoards of high school students going to school dances because the food is affordable. You're better off paying more for less food that tastes good. read more
