Hot dog with sweet tangy BBQ brisket, shredded cheese, and onions? This thing isn't playing around. It's the kind of meal that shows up wearing sunglasses at night, smelling like smoke and bad decisions and I'm here for all of it. That brisket's like, "I've seen things," the cheese is melting like it's emotionally unavailable, and the onions are there just to stir the pot. And to top it all off? The lady who took our order was so nice, she had us feeling like family. Like, "go ahead and get comfortable, baby -- your plate's on the way" kind of nice. One bite and I knew... this wasn't just lunch. This was destiny on a bun.

We came here on a Saturday night with a hot dog craving! It's inside Aunt Bill's Soul Food Restaurant. The place has a southern feel with a stage for musicians. You can order from either side. We had the #1 bunless and the #5 frito pie dog with loaded Mexicali fries and the kids had mini corn dogs. To be honest, I wish I had ordered from Aunt Bill's. The dogs were good but I felt like something was missing. The service however was great! Rose was our server and I think next time I'll order from Aunt Bill's.

It was pretty confusing finding the restaurant because it's inside of Aunt Bill's Soul Food Cafe, but there's a sign on the side that points towards the side/back that says it's for That's My Dog drive-thru orders. We drove around the building looking for a normal sign and entrance before we realized it was inside Aunt Bill's. I expected a fast food set up where you order at a counter and they call your number for you to come get your food, but because it's mainly Aunt Bill's Soul Food Cafe inside, it's a "wait to be seated, your server will be out shortly" type of deal. Btw the menus have Aunt Bill's on one side and That's my Dog on the other. We didn't want to do to-go because we live far, so we dined in. There was a very noticeable nail salon smell as soon as we walked in. I think there's a nail salon in the plaza, but I didn't think it was next door. Hopefully it doesn't always leak in, but it was very unpleasant in the beginning. Thankfully, we didn't notice it anymore by the time we got our food, but that was only because we had to wait 30 minutes for our food to come out and we probably just got used to the smell by then. Most of the customers sitting were there for Aunt Bill's, and I think that's part of the reason it took so long for us to get our two hot dogs. It was pretty busy, but it felt like a lot of people had to wait a long time for their food too. Can't imagine that the drive-thru could take that long though so maybe that would've gotten priority. The service was nice, quick, and helpful and the restaurant felt very clean. I'll probably order ahead and go through the drive-thru to skip the long wait though. TEXACALI: I ordered a 6" dog but got a sausage dog instead. I wasn't upset about the free upgrade, but it was way bigger and harder to eat because of this lol definitely delicious though! Why hasn't anyone else put brisket on a hot dog before?! It was fantastic! Loved the slaw and bbq sauce too! It was definitely a fully loaded dog! The only downside was how messy it was and that I had to keep picking up the scraps that would fall, but it wasn't that big of a deal. BIG SAM: This dog only comes in a sausage option, so it will always be big! It was delicious as well, but maybe even messier because of the mac n' cheese. There was a point where all of the mac n' cheese had fallen off lol so yeah, expect a delicious mess.

Our visit was pleasant. Customer service was great and the food was okay. There was so much cheese on it made the bread a little soggy for me, if I return I'll definitely order with light cheese. There is indoor and outdoor seating. All in all a 4/5 for me, which is still pretty good :) Updated review: I definitely have to try out the new location! This place rocks!!!! Ambience is very chill. Food: we had the slaw dog and the brisket dog. Both were amazing. I asked for jalapeños on my slaw dog and as you can see they even find chopped the jalapeños to mix in with the Cajun slaw and sauce! Awesome presentation Service: Trey was our server and was great and patient with my kiddos. Even talked to them about their soccer game they just played. He then was listening as walking by and heard us discussing how much time we had before my son's baseball game. So without asking he brought the check and Togo boxes just to help us out. Awesome dude! The girl at the front was the sweetest thing and constantly checked on us. This place has something special!

Gave 2 stars for decent service which I feel is bare minimum an establishment should be great at. Out of all places I could've chose I chose you but man oh man was this disappointing. For a first time experience I gotta say I was let down and this place did not live up to the hype. I'm new to the area and decided to try a new place. I was pleasantly surprised to see this places existed but do not be deceived. I saw all those Frito Pie dog pics and Dirty Dog pics and said Finally a place that does it right! Too bad I didn't look, most of those pics are super old. I went last Saturday July 26,2025 and man idk if it was just a bad day for staff or the place has gone downhill but I ordered the dirty dog and I assume you the under delivered. Don't believe me just look at my pic and compare it to pics from years ago. Does it look bad? Not at all. Is it what I saw on Yelp? Absolutely not. The 2 hotdogs I got for me and my wife were mostly bread and mustard. Where was the chili, cheese and onion? Well it was there but barely. Almost as if they cut back and purposely decided to no longer load the hot dog as they were in those pretty pics. Even the flavor was sub par and I swear the chili cheese dogs I make at home with Oscar Meyer, Sunbeam buns, shredded Kraft cheese and Hormel Chili tastes the same if not better. I wish it would've been better but it just wasn't. I will give them credit on the loaded fries. That was a pleasant surprise. Just to be clear I came there for the main course not sides. Hopefully they will use this review as a coaching opportunity bc that wasn't it.

Katy is rarely a destination for me unless I have to physically stop so yesterday I decided while in the area I would support a black-owned business for lunch. I was drawn to That's My Dog because of their offerings-especially the Keto Bowl. It did not disappoint. The brisket was tender and the flavors were a perfect savory and sweet blend. The sweet tea was sweet in all the right ways. The servers and staff were almost polite and despite there being a large party ahead of me, I still received my food quickly. Owner Kevin was on-site and greeted everyone and visited with the guests. I also appreciated that the tables had notecards encouraging people to give reviews. One of the parties included military personnel and I overheard Kevin thanking them for their service and giving them a military discount. One thing to know you can also order from Aunt Bill's which is a soul food restaurant and the primary focus. To avoid getting distracted I only looked at the That's My Dog menu. Check out this business and support them as they support the community.

Quick notes: It shares space with a soul food restaurant. The place is super clean and it smells strongly of chemicals. There is an automatic 15% gratuity added to all orders. Pros: I had the Brisket Dog and it was delicious. The one dude working there waiting tables was gracious and respectful. Cons: It took over 45 minutes to get 3 hotdogs. 1 of which was drowned in ketchup in a comedic manner. It was sent back only to be done incorrectly the second time. All of the tables around us were constantly pulling the wait staff over to request their missing food items. Overall opinion: If you really want to try the brisket dog (which is amazing) maybe call in your order in advance. People genuinely seemed to like their food when it arrived and arrived correctly. Also, maybe they won't charge you the 15% gratuity for some hotdogs *shrug*.

Why 5 stars? Because it's hard to imagine hot dogs being much better. --- --- --- I bookmarked That's My Dog almost exactly one year to-the-day before I was finally able to visit. I know that because Yelp released its Top 100 in Texas list on May 12, 2021. May 14, 2022, I ate some That's My Dog(s). The only reason it took me so long is because I believe this was maybe the third time in my life I was even in Katy. With Mom out of town, I planned a guys date with my son to head down here and then visit a nearby playground. It's easy to see why this place a 5-star average with nearly 500 reviews. If I'm desperately searching for reasons why someone would give anything other than 5-stars, it would be that the hot dogs are basically impossible to eat without making a mess. I felt like I needed to take a bath after I was done. The dogs are stacked much higher than the legal limit with toppings that make you forget you're even eating a hot dog. All of that is a good thing in this Yelper's eyes. And if you're someone who thinks of that as kind of a nightmare, than TMD is not the place for you anyway. My only personal hangup is that I ordered a #1, a #3 and a #6, but instead, I got a #5 instead of the #1. Since I had my son with me and it took me a minute to realize this error, I went ahead and just ate it anyway. And it was great. All of them were great. I don't even think I could pick a favorite because they were pretty equal in terms of the enjoyment they provided. I also observed a lot of happy regulars coming in and out while we were here. They have definitely built up quite a following here and it's well deserved. Friendly people and amazing gourmet hot dogs. 5-stars from me just like the hundreds of others who have walked through these doors!

After reading the great reviews we decided to stop in for a late lunch. It was a little hard to find the store front as we learned it is a combined restaurant. The collocation is more advertised. There was a stage with a drum set indicating there may be live entertainment some nights. After seeing the menu for the collocation (Aunt Bill's Soul Food Cafe), it was really hard to stick to what we came in for - the hot dogs. The service was a little slow but that is because everything is made fresh to order. And let me tell you, the wait is worth every bite. We all got something different to try a little bit of everything and all the flavors were sooo satisfying and delicious.

Baby when I tell you I am a forever customer at That's My Dog.... I mean FO EVA!!!! I'll start with the customer service. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and Mr. Kevin introduced himself and even took the time to ask my name which is very rare these days. The whole staff was so nice and I honestly felt like I was with family. Now let's get to the hot dogs... I got the family deal and chose The Brisket Dog, The Puppy Dog, Grandma Reeves, and the one with chili and cheese. I opened up that brisket dog before I could even turn the car on and before I even decided to reverse it was GONNNe smh. It was so good that I had to go back in and tip $5 more and even then I didn't feel like $10 was enough lol. Now the restaurant is on Morton Ranch... y'all I ate the Grandma dog before I even hit I10( that's about 2 lights down‍). I live in Rosenberg and it took everything in me to not eat my kids hot dog before I got home lol. I have been twice and headed back today! The service is great everyone is so friendly! Today, I finally got the opportunity to go and try That's My Dog, tmd30.com. The food was amazing. My wife had the Frito Pie Dog and I had the Texicali Dog. The slaw on mine was perfect with the dog and brisket topping. As good as the food was, even better was the friendliness of all the staff. Where do I start! I love the fact that it's an experience when you walk in. They are so welcoming, treat you like family. They acknowledge you even though they are attending another customer. *,The shoutout they give when you Tip brings a smile to your face lol. So don't forget to tip!. They skimped on my brisket I came in close to closing time and I guess they were running low on brisket but didn't tell me. Sucks cuz it was my first time here and I was excited to try it. But it was still good, looks like they added more cheese to the fries and more coleslaw to my dog to hide the fact that there was barely any brisket in any of them. Wish they could've been honest about it. Maybe I'll try them earlier in the day see if there is a difference. read more

Soul Food Sunday needs its own review! I'm writing this as I slip into a food coma. Everything was amazing! I'm not a fan of okra but Ryan hooked me up with the succotash with as little okra as possible. The Mac n cheese is amazing, probably my new favorite Mac n cheese. Ribs fall off the bone and melt in your mouth. I always have Ryan mix the mild and spicy sauce for the meat. The smothered potatoes are massive. Unlike other places where you get a little toppings with mostly dry potato, this is a perfect blend so every bite has potato and toppings. I was stuffed but had to try the desserts. So so good. Even with 5 of us (2 of which are teenage football players) we have plenty of leftovers. I love TMD. When Ryan calls you family, she means it. read more

Nice place to stop at. Staff were fast and friendly. Restaurant was clean and organized. Hot dogs were of good quality and cooked well. Only taking a star off because the french fries were undercooked and could not handle all the toppings and sauce so they became soggy. Will definitely give them another shot. read more

This spot is AMAZING. High quality food and service! I've had my order messed up and BEGGED them not to re do it.. and they so nicely brought me the correct order. So glad they did because it made me come back the two times I have!!! Soul food Sunday from this place is something I wait on ALL week. Food is hot, seasoned,buttery buns. The fries are perfect the mango Ice refreshing, the service on point. Clean, private areas to eat with your family, you must support this place not just because it is black owned, that really distracts from how great this place is! The staff here know how to run a business period. You will not be disappointed spending your coin here you will get what you paid for. read more

There is a certain void that has existed for me when it came to a neighborhood hotdog joint. James Coney Island is only a blip in this vastness. That's My Dog's first impression begins as you step into the shop. The gentleman at the cash register and the lady preparing the food immediately greet you like one walking into the place of family members. I had a Dirty Dog, which is chili, mustard, onions, with the option of regular, foot long or link (JV, Varsity, link, respectively), I had the link. My wife had a Cajun Slaw Dog (slaw, tomatoes, and spicy house with the same options, she chose a JV. Also in honor of french fry day, we ordered Mexicali Fries, (bbq brisket, queso, pico de gallo, sour cream, and Cajun slaw sauce). There were three other families in the cozy and modest dining area. We waited as everything is made to order, but we felt very well taken care of before we knew it, we were eating. My dog was tasty and steaming hot. It didn't take long for me to make a massacre of my dog. The chili, though not a traditional copper hue, was good. Jenni knocked out her dog no problem and she did enjoy it. All her ingredients worked well for her palate. We shared the Mexicali Fries and that was a treat. It was such a savory treat. The only thing was for the price we were hoping for a little more, but what we had was YUMMY! All our dog entrees came with potato chips and a fountain drink. First impressions are important and we felt VERY WELL taken care of. We were constantly asked how we were doing and it all felt so sincere. We will return to continue to fill that void. read more

I visited on Saturday afternoon after my son baseball tournament and This was THE BEST HOTDOG EVER!!! The Brisket and sauce was so delicious and the frito pit fries I never knew what my life was missing until Saturday! And the Customer Service listennnnnn this is the service every establishment needs! Fun and friendly like family. Me and the owner even exchanged jokes about my Steelers mask lol... PS... I've been wanting to try this place based off of the reviews that I was reading. The staff was super friendly and very welcoming, but that's about as good as it gets. I've chased down some hotdog places and this place, food wise, might be the at the bottom of them all. I got the hotdog with the chili, cheese, onion and diced tomatoes. The flavor was blah and the bread was super soggy. The hotdog fell all apart. I also got the frito fries (chili, cheese, mayo) and they also were blah. Doubt I'll be trying them again read more

Let me first say that the customer service here is unmatched! We were instantly greeted by the young lady at the front and the owners came out and introduced themselves. Everyone was beyond kind and courteous. They also referred to us as family which just makes you feel welcomed. My husband and I had never been and they gave us their recommendations. We both got the brisket dog and they showed us the size of each one so that we could choose. We upgraded from chips to fries and were able to choose from fountain or can drinks. We got our food to go and decided to taste it in the car. That quickly turned into us just sitting and eating the entire thing. The sauce on the brisket was sweet, but paired very well with the hot dog. It was ssssooooo good. The fires were well seasoned and had just the right amount of crisp. You know how some fountain cokes can taste really bad or like it's a knock off? Not this one! It actually tastes like coke. The owner happened to step outside and saw us still sitting there and asked how it was and even asked if we needed a refill on the drinks. We were fine but there's that excellent customer service again. We weren't even out of the parking lot and my husband was making sure I knew we'd be back the next time we were in the area. Wow, I've Tried most of their dogs and have never had a bad one. First I had the Brisket Dog with the spicy BBQ sauce and it was so good and my wife who isn't a big hot dog fan loved it as well. FYI: The spicy sauce is not very hot which was perfect for us. Next I had the Texacali dog with the spicy sauce and I couldn't believe that I liked it even more than the Brisket Dog. I've also had some custom dogs where I picked anything I wanted on them and each time I've had great dogs. I never even heard of them until they set up their cart in front of what would become their brick and mortar store on Morton Ranch Road. So glad we came!! Just moved in to the area and I am scoping out the food spots and THIS is probably one of our best finds. I've sworn by my guy "YoYo's hotdogs on Rice Village for 5 years now because his are so different from everything out there and That's My Dog is up there also. So So good. Lady welcomed us and asked if it was our first time and suggested the #5 with a smoked sausage so that's what I got. It was incredible. Brisket was perfect, got the mild sauce (probably go spicy next time) but the sauce was great. Before I bit into it I was pre-judging the bun since it wasn't hot (wasn't cold either though) but I forgot all about it after first bite. Fries were made to order and were excellent also. He does some of the butchering himself so he knew exactly what I was looking for. I ended up being served the most fabulous Wagyu steak I've had in a very long time. Unlike the other steaks that can have a seasoning on them, the Wagyu is just salt and pepper and then is served with a beautiful compound butter slathered all over it. They make that butter in-house and it has wine and shallots and bone marrow and other wonderful stuff. Trust me, it's amazing! I ordered extra on the side and poured that all over the top of the steak. Delicious!! Sometimes little things count and it was served with grilled onion that was tasty. I could have had a side of mashed potatoes or asparagus, but I decided to treat myself and try the mac-n-cheese instead. Half of that food was my lunch the next day, so I left enough room for dessert, where my choice was the apple pie bread pudding with cinnamon roll ice cream. That was nice and moist and I enjoyed it. The flavor was unpleasant and left a very bad aftertaste, making them one of the least enjoyable dishes we ordered. Good customer service isn't just about enforcing rules--it's about how those rules are communicated. We just drove from Pearland to That's My Dog in Katy!!!! We are almost in a full sleep coma!!!! Everything was fantastic from the moment we stepped our foot on the concrete curb outside the restaurant to wait in line. You are greeted by the loveliest lady who offered us ice water while we waited and ran down the menu and favorites. The added bonus was the arrived on Soul Food Sunday's which they offer in addition to their regular menu. My Man is a hog dog lover and a cook on the side from New Orleans by way of Mississippi and has high standards on food We ordered the Brisket Dog w/a link a small side of slaw. I am not a fan of coleslaw but while I was asking about it the whole line of customers chimed in about how good it was. My "FAMILY" that is the owner (you are greeted once in line with ...hello Family") I loved that BIG on Customer Service. I had a opportunity to try the coleslaw and it was really good!!! ...not too wet and had great crunch and a kick of heat!!! We also ordered the Detroit Dog which is chili, cheese, onion and mustard(light) both are EXCELLENT!!! We then ordered Willie Mae's fried chicken and side which ran about 13$ for 3 wings and 2 sides. We ordered extra wings. They are that good!!! We also ordered extra sides that ranged from Mac and Cheese, Sweet Potato's, Greens ( they are sweet)‍ and succotash that is a mix of corn, okra, sausage and tomatoes. We are not fans of okra and would you believe FAMILY fixed that side with NO OKRA!!! All the sides and chicken tasted AMAZING was still hot when we got home!!!! Lastly our EXTRA GREEDY SELVES ordered dessert which was 7 UP cake and a peach and apple cobbler!!! My plate is the one with the fourth of hot dog slices I could only eat a 1/2 of the Brisket dog and I'm about to pass out!!! Award winning restaurant, That's My Dog, has been a family staple ever since we discovered their amazing BBQ brisket dogs! We have followed the owners, Kevin and Ryan, from the time they were working out of their cart stand till now that they're in their brick-and-mortar shop! We have had every dog on the menu and they are all fantastic!! The fries are wonderful but I highly recommend the Mexacali fries! They're delicious! Soul food Sunday is worth a trip as well. Family recipes made with love! Although the food is fantastic it's not the only reason we go to That's My Dog. It's the owners and their wonderful staff! Came in here about a week ago, because I've been seeing the Suburban with the "home of the brisket dog" sign. not for sure but I think most everyone that works here is family or at least they gave me that vibe which was Very friendly and welcoming as soon as I came through the door. One of the girls helped me by making recommendations as it was my first time. This hot dog stand is amazing!!! My roommate and I always make it a point to go here when they come out to Walnut Creek usually Thursday, Friday and/or Saturday nights. I've tried almost every hot dog on the menu and I haven't found one i wouldn't order again. We usually end up buying one to eat there and one or two more to take home for later. "That's My Dog" is difficult to find as two shops have been combined and the exterior signs are confusing. However the hot dogs we ordered were very good, just could not pick up the loaded full sandwich, had to cut it up piece by piece. Service was good. But the real problem I found after I got home was without any notification, my ticket included a 15% gratuity Not noticing that the gratuity was already included, I added a generous amount to the ticket total including the gratuity. Came with all the fixings. Fries were golden crispy. This is a food truck. There are benches outside to sit with limited amount of parking. You can still find it easily to park as there is plenty of dirt and gravel. They had self service kiosk, right outside the food truck for easy ordering.

It came with fries (I guess that's their version of chips), onion rings and a hush puppy. Fish was just the way I like it for London style, which is a flour batter rather than corn meal batter. The sides were all good. It was just a lot of fried food. My wife's chicken avocado sandwich was huge. A massive chicken breast split and tons of avocado. I got a bite and it was very good. Good meal, reasonable price, friendly customer service so no complaints. I just wish they had real chips.

I went to the bathroom to wash my hands while my daughter and husband finished ordering, I came out and told her never mind we were not eating there and that the bathroom was disgusting. Also, I looked at the fans and thank goodness she did not turn them on! The dust was so thick and would have ended up getting all over everyone eating. What is it with the Katy locations A/C and bathrooms?! Is every JLB like this? I'm just trying to find a solid burger place since our move here. I'm just gonna stick to Old School Burger from here on out.

I wish I still had the picture, but they looked like regular fries with a random sprinkle of cheese -- nothing about them said truffle. For a $6 upcharge, I expected actual flavor. When I asked about it, I was told it had some kind of oil and seasoning, but there was no taste at all. When I brought it up, instead of fixing it properly, he offered to just add cheese -- and ended up pouring nacho cheese on top. That didn't improve anything. The fries were still bland and definitely not worth the extra money. The burger was very basic, honestly tasted like something from Sonic. The wings were also off. I ordered hot honey lemon pepper, but they just tasted like plain hot sauce. No sweetness, no lemon pepper flavor -- just heat. On top of that, I ordered at 7:45 PM and didn't leave until 8:30 PM, which is a long wait for food that didn't deliver. Overall, the food lacked flavor, didn't match what was advertised, and wasn't worth the price. I wouldn't come back based on this experience. Wish I could get a refund not worth $22
