Wow! My companion and I stopped in on an early Saturday evening after months of "you know, we should try that place sometime." We are glad we finally did. 1762 was formerly known as The Warwick Hotel, and that's the prominent markings you'll see from the street. It is a really excellent spot on the square in Hummelstown with cozy charm and exceptional service. My companion was initially skeptical when she saw wine on tap but immediately changed her mind when she saw the offerings--good quality and reasonable price point. The beer selection is also good. Not a huge number of beers but well-selected. Although we didn't have a full meal we did enjoy the sausage and honey appetizer, which was outrageously tasty with sausage from a local butcher in Hershey. Service was efficient and friendly, especially considering the bar (where we sat) was hopping. We also met the owner, Dave, who rolled up his sleeves to assist at the bar while also personally greeting customers. Our biggest regret is that we waited so long to finally visit...and we'll definitely be back soon.

TEAM DINNER SOLVED -- CONTACT THE 1762 at the Warwick! Long post, but absolutely worth the read. For out‑of‑town tournaments, we always try to organize a team dinner. Too often, the places we choose fall short--someone's allergy can't be accommodated, siblings aren't happy, or the kitchen simply can't handle a large group. I reached out to several restaurants. Some said they could handle us, others said it shouldn't be a problem... but none inspired confidence. Then I called 1762. A young man answered and immediately assured me they could accommodate our group--and even mentioned they would likely open their private room for us. He was so confident that he encouraged me to speak directly with the owner and even provided his cell number. My first conversation with Dave, the owner, sealed the deal. He asked thoughtful questions no other restaurant had considered--food allergies, timing, how his operation works, and his commitment to local, organic, and locally sourced ingredients. I was sold. After consulting with the other coaches, Dave and I discussed headcount and whether we should arrive during prime dinner hours or come later and "hammer" the kitchen with 35 full-menu orders after 8 PM. We chose the latter. When we arrived, the staff welcomed us and guided us to the French Room, which was fully prepared and ready for seating. Dave stopped in to greet us and share his passion for local sourcing. Two of his best staff--Jensen and Albana--handled 35 patrons with grace, efficiency, and professionalism. They absolutely owned the room. The feedback from coaches, parents, siblings, and players was overwhelming: "I've been traveling all week--from Atlantic City to Hershey. This is the BEST and MOST REASONABLY PRICED meal I've had all week." "This was one of the best meals we've had out in years." I could list comments from all 35 guests. Not a single negative remark. Well done, 1762. We cannot wait to return.

Really cool old building, clean place with fast service. 2 burgers we got were really good, wings were good but different since they are smoked. Wife says the Chicken BLT was good but not great lol. She did love her Long Island ice tea.

Great little restaurant not far from Hershey. They seem to have several separate rooms for dining, so it was not too noisy. They do have a bar area which seemed to be more lively. We started off with the mushroom flatbread, which was delicious. Hubby had the mahi-mahi special and I had a shrimp dish. I got to choose what kind of topping I wanted on my shrimp, which was really interesting. I chose the sautéed mushrooms. Yum. Plus, lots of great choices for sides. We will definitely come back when we are in the area!

We have been to the 1762 twice now and each time has been a good experience. We like to come here for "special occasions", as it's not fine dining per se but fine enough for me! I always order the steak and the wife always orders the crab cakes. Both times, both entrees have been fantastic! Service has been great and food comes out pretty quickly, for things that aren't premade! We'll be back soon, for certain!

Stopped off on our way home from our trip and we found The 1762! My wife loves calamari so we were happy to see that the calamari was gluten free and absolutely delicious! I got the 62 burger and it was perfectly made! My wife got the bacon bleu burger and added mushrooms. She said it was the best part of our trip coming here. I love this place as it was an old hotel and I love that they kept the old style of decor throughout the entire building. Very historic! Finally the service was fantastic! Our server was very friendly and attentive with our gluten free needs. Highly recommended to anyone that may be passing through for a bite to eat!

The restaurant at the Warwick Hotel in Hummelstown is a gem! It's named after the year Hummelstown was founded. The menu is seasonal, which I love because it keeps it fresh and allows you to try something new every time you visit. Right from the start, there was a cozy vibe. We were seated in the enclosed patio area which had nice views of Main Street. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable. The drink list was impressive and we thoroughly enjoyed the cocktails we tried. I ended up getting wine to have with my entree and the manager noticed I was enjoying a dry red. He came over and offered to allow my husband and I to try a glass of an expensive bottle that had been opened. He seemed to genuinely be interested in our opinion on the wine and you could tell he was proud of the restaurant. Food was great, cooked nicely and they had an eclectic menu. I will definitely be back and will bring other foodies along to try!

The 1762 is a gem! We happened upon it after a visit to Troegs. Shortly after arriving, the owner stopped by our table. The menu had many great options to choose from including many gluten-free choices. My husband had the 1762 Burger, and I had one of the specials for the night: halibut cheeks. Both dishes were great! We also had the calamari appetizer which was excellent. The service staff were attentive and the atmosphere was nice as well. We will definitely be back.

Bison burger and fries

Great place for dinner in the heart of Hummelstown with both on street parking and a lot out back. Staff was friendly and attentive, and the owner Dave even came around to chat. Lots of gluten free options. The Thai calamari was delicious, lots of flavor. The bison burger was a solid option but the real hit was the salmon with so much flavor and seared just right.

We went for Valentine day dinner. Wait : need rsvp Service : very friendly and informative Ambience: romantic and cozy. Only downside is that the table arrangement is a bit tight. I wish it's a bit more spaceful Food : my husband love their steak but for me, it is ok. Seafood chowder is pretty good. Carrot cake is a bit sweet for me. Drink : I love their drink. Would love to come back just for the drink Price : a bit pricy side for the area but we have a good time overall

We've eaten here a few times before and have always had great meals, so we wanted to bring our friends to experience this hidden gem. I made a 5:00 p.m. reservation, and we arrived right on time. We were seated a few minutes early, which was a nice start to the evening. Our server greeted us promptly with water and then returned to take our drink order. My wife ordered the Dragon Fruit cocktail, I had the Rye Old Fashioned, and our friends enjoyed the Watermelon Refresher and the Black Walnut Old Fashioned. For dinner, our friends ordered the salmon and the burger with fries. My wife and I shared the Green Goddess Salad and the Korean BBQ Short Ribs. When our meals arrived, everything looked absolutely amazing. We all dug in, and every dish lived up to the presentation. Our friends said the salmon was fabulous, and the burger was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The Green Goddess Salad was fresh and delicious, but the star of the evening was definitely the Korean BBQ Short Ribs. They were incredibly tender, packed with flavor, and simply OMG good! Even though we were all full, we couldn't pass up dessert. We shared the Pineapple Upside-Down Cake, and it was the perfect ending to an outstanding meal. From the drinks and food to the friendly service and atmosphere, Hidden Still Spirits continues to impress us. We're glad we brought our friends here, and they were just as impressed as we have been on our previous visits. We'll definitely be back again!

Ambiance: 4/5 Nice, typical brewery vibes -- quiet, laid back, and a great space to hang out with friends. They have some neat arcade games in the back which is a fun touch. The outdoor seating exists but could use some freshening up to really elevate the outdoor dining experience. That said, it didn't take away from the overall experience. Solid spot. Service: 4/5 They did a really good job accommodating a large party. Not the most stellar service I've ever had, but no complaints. Great job overall. Drinks: 5/5 This is what they're known for, and rightfully so. Great beer selection -- tasty and a solid variety. Five out of five on the beers. My wife got the strawberry lemon drop, and she absolutely loved it -- said she could have had fifteen of them. It reminded her of a drink we had at a fancy bar in Vancouver that she hadn't found since. The fact that we found one in Central PA that matched it exactly is a real testament to the quality of their drink program here. Food: 4/5 When you look at the menu, you'll think you're in for a fine dining experience. Pump the brakes -- you're at a brewery, and the food is bar food. Good bar food, but bar food. We got a wide variety: * Wings: 3/5. Good, but could have been crispier. * Duck Fries: 5/5. Absolutely banging. Great truffle flavor. Would not hesitate to order these again -- highest recommendation at this establishment. * Nachos: 2/5. Big portion, I'll give them that. But subpar... just didn't do it for me or my friends. Try it yourself, but don't say I didn't warn you. * Harvest Salad w/ Crispy Chicken: 2/5. Twenty bucks for a small portion with a forgettable dressing. Would not order again. Overall: 4/5 Don't let the menu fool you into expecting fine dining. It's a brewery with a unique and wide-ranging menu, and they do a good job with it. Get the duck fries. Get the drinks. Enjoy the vibes. You'll have a great time.

I ordered a crispy chicken Ceasar sandwich and was less than pleased. The Caesar portion had a strange smell and taste that didn't compliment the sandwich and the crispy chicken cutlet was very tough and involved alot of tugging to rip and chew. I honestly dont have the best culinary experiences with englewood when I have gone in the past and don't visit often. Ive previously eaten other chicken sandwiches and pizzas. The chicken sandwiches miss the mark in taste and mouth feel and the pizza is usually too greasy. The saving grace of the night was our waitress! She was brilliant, funny, and attentive to our 7 person party. Really appreciate it! The bill was well over $300 dollars and I dont think it was worth it for the quality of food received.
