2 stars because the drink was delicious (strawberry Basil lemonade) and the service was good. The food tho...ummm it was not good. First of all, the menu posted online was not the same as when we got there (special Sunday menu) the meatballs were dry as shit and clearly not fresh, the spicy bolognese was way too spicy (I can handle a-lot of spice wasn't worried when I ordered) and the pasta was chewy. Ugh so disappointed because it was also very expensive and the prices on the menu are inaccurate (surprise they've raised the prices 2-3$ per entree). I wish I had a Time Machine to go back and not eat here. read more

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at 1762. Their menu offered a nice variety of dishes. Since it was Monday we had an order of their wings (6 for $6 Mondays). Smoky and tender. We split a porterhouse that was done perfectly and their grilled green beans were excellent. The cocktail menu and beer selections were on point. Saw a few beers from Lord Hobo that are hard to find outside of New England. And the owner Bill was awesome. read more

I made dinner reservations for 6:45 on Friday. I got there early but was seated promptly. By the time my three friends and their baby arrived I had worked my way through a drought of one of the best draft beers I have tasted in quite a while. When I knew my party was on the way I ordered the calamari starter which arrived right after my friends were seated. To say that the presentation and the dish itself was incredible doesn't do it justice. Quite simply it was the best we had ever tasted. I can only speak to my own meal as everyone else enjoyed the well presented burgers and crab cake. I ordered the duck breast main course and was very disappointed. It was rubbery and the skin was just fatty and soft with nothing to recommend it. Our service was prompt and our server knew his menu and beers. It is a great looking place and we had absolutely no hassles with having a very quiet 5 month old with us. We will go back. I would like to post this but you won't let me. read more

The items we ordered were very tasty with balanced flavors. One of of had the pork belly spring rolls and the blackened steak tip tacos. The other ordered the seafood corn chowder and the goat cheese agnolotti. Portion sizes and prices were appropriate for the small plates. Service was prompt and friendly. We were greeted at the door by the owner who offered us a friendly run review of some of their locally sourced items. For dessert we shared a crepe filled with bananas and Nutella and topped with toasted marshmallow and pistachios. It was good but nothing spectacular. Many items on the large plate list sounded luscious, so we will have plenty reason to return to try some new items. read more

I was in town on business and I found this restaurant on Yelp. First I showed up before they were open and the really nice hostess let me come in early because it was really cold outside. I was lucky enough to get a reserved table an hour before it was reserved. New in town from Arizona and just relocated to the Area. Stopped at this restaurant to have a nice dinner to my surprise I was very disappointed. I came in me and my boyfriend and was pretty hungry from being pretty busy all day. He ordered the filet mignon and I ordered the prime rib special. Our dinners came his was perfectly cooked medium rare, my prime rib looked like a steak well done, the waiter took it back to be recooked came back again well done apparently they don't know how to serve prime rib, when I ordered medium rare, ,but the insulting part is that I sat there, while my boyfriend ate his and waited for mine. Then mine came again ( I was starving ) so I ate it, and they took off $10. 10 lousy dollars! Manager never came over to explain or say sorry for waiting forever for my food and it being wrong twice or any other communication or comment good customer service you will definitely not get at this place!!!!! The waiter said sorry, but not the same when management doesn't come he stated the manager said I could take some money off. wow. Will never recommend this place again to anyone, nor will I ever come back was quite expensive for the meal that you got anyway, and was completely awful. What a disappointment! Me and my boyfriend, go to a lot of restaurants, for that's what we do, we are foodies and I can guarantee you this restaurant will not serve you a good meal if that's what you're looking for!!! Very pricey for small portions. Filet was good but there wasn't very much of it. Forbidden rice was AWFUL. salmon was over cooked first time but they were super nice about bringing another one. Pasta overdone and fish tacos really lame. Server was very nice as were all the people but not good food for the price. Seems like they are trying to make dishes so different but they just don't work. It's a new restaurant so hopefully they will tweak some things and improve. read more

The 1762 Tavern is in the old Warwick Hotel, and it's such a welcome addition! It's the same owner as Babe's in palmyra, with a different menu and the same high-quality food as the sister restaurant. I went to the soft opening with my spouse, and we had the fried chicken sandwich, the salade niçoise, the pork belly egg rolls, and a side of street corn. I haven't had such a good Niçoise in literal years, and the tuna was perfectly done! It really fills the niche of an upscale-but-not-too-pricey place on the square in Hummelstown. read more

It's definitely no longer the The Wick, the local hangout that was our go-to for a frequent last-minute bar or dinner option. That said, David (owner) welcomed our group at the door and explained The Wick/1762 conversion. David also provided us with a sample of one of his drink experiments...very tasty! The wait service could not have been better. The food was very good but no longer Wick prices. A basic Cuervo-based margarita was a little pricey, as well. We will return, however, not as frequently. read more

Very disappointed. First, don't see much difference between this renovated restaurant and the Wick. Second food was good but only lukewarm. We were unable to use a gift card purchased this week because the website for the Warwick is still selling gift cards. 1762 has been in business for 3 months and the Warwick website is still up. This place is historic, tastefully upgraded with a menu that is fascinating, creative, delicious. I plan to continue going regularly to eat all the way through the menu of "small plates." Then I"ll start on main courses and then appetizers and then soups and salads. By then the menu will have changed and I can start all over again.
