I was very disappointed in the customer service and commitment to "scheduled appointments". I had a 1430-1500 appointment when my vehicle wasn't taken back to be worked on until 1618 and there was nothing they could do about it. Cause me to miss another appointment and make me take another day off work. I would never use this company for any work. I purchased a remote starter deal through Groupon. I'm not sure who I talked to but they let me reschedule my appointment 3 times due to unexpected sick kids, schedule changes, etc. I was able to drop my car off in the morning, go to a soccer game, and pick it up later that day. They took the time to explain to me how everything worked. I would definitely go back to get other work done and would highly recommend them for remote starter work. read more

I couldn't disagree more with Trash M (an appropriate name for someone so bitter). These folks bent over backward for me after my children decided that my car stereo should hold more disks than was intended. In the end it was determined that it would be best to send the stereo to the dealer for repair. And this was after they spent time taking it apart and after I had picked out an after market stereo. They handled sending it to the dealer for me and it was ready in a week. I worked with two different people and they were both very helpful and I will let any and all know how pleased I was with their service. Oh, and to further dispute Trash M. I originally went to Best Buy, and I was told that (due to the make and model of my vehicle) they could not help me that is how I ended up at Audio Connection. read more

I went to Audio Connection after purchasing a LivingSocial coupon for an automatic car starter. I had to wait for them to do the job because it was early and I didn't want to ask anybody to get up and drive about 25 miles to entertain me. There were restaurants and stores within walking distance, but it was too cold and windy to walk, so I stayed in the waiting area.The guys who run this place were fantastic! I saw several customers come and go - they were all treated with respect, even someone who called with a "misunderstanding" about the price --- with no labor included. I went in the Saturday before Christmas and was amazed by the people stopping in just to say "Merriy Christmas." (Huh? for an Audio shop??) They rushed my job because I was waiting. Before I left the Manager explained how my device works and went over the warranty. It was a nice experience and I just love my remote car starter. Sometimes I walk by the window and just start the car to see it work. (it turns off if you accidentally leave the car on for 20 mins and there is an anti-theft feature) read more

THE GENERAL MANAGER SEAN IS A CROOK. I come in frequently to get my interlock check usually with no problems at all. I am greeted by a friendly staff who gets me in and out efficiently. Today was not the case. Sean was not attentive to his customers or friendly at all. In fact he was rude and might I say not very good at his job. What usually takes 15 min, took him over an hour. After going in I am given an appointment but usually they don't stress it too much if you are late, come in early, or show up on a different day. Today I came in and what usually costs me $80 is now costing me $114. I pulled up previous paperwork that clearly showed I had never had this problem with any other employee, he shrugged rudely and said that it was policy. Now all of the sudden when I I have never been charged a late fee, I am slammed with one. I am very disappointed in the way I was treated and would not recommend them to any of my friends/family. read more

Please do yourself a favor and pass by this business. They are way over priced compared to the quality of service and professional experience of their employees. Do your research and shop around and you will find that other shops in the area are significantly less expensive and provide better products and a higher level of quality service. They have an extremely high (NON-REFUNDABLE) labor rate that safe guards them against being fully accountable for the poor and often faulty work they provide. They try to reassure you with a lifetime guarantee on repairs, which is a joke because they should just get it right the first time, so we do not need to come back over an over for a repair or correction of their work. This old out dated policy does not consider the customer at all and the time that is wasted on having to come back for repairs/adjustment/corrections. They also pocket any deposit money for parts they recommend you order for the enhancements you are making if those parts are not already in the shop. This place is a joke and a scam and I hope no one else waste their time or hard earned money at this establishment. Do yourself a favor and drive an extra 15 minutes to HallStar in Laurel for much better pricing, service and know how. Thanks!!!! read more

I went to The Audio Connection in Columbia where I had a remote car starter installed. I purchased their Groupon special for a basic remote starter, but they also offer a 2-way remote starter upgrade that I really wanted. When I came in for my appointment and mentioned about wanting the upgrade, they didn't have anymore in their store inventory. But Greg called the other two stores to see if they had one they could deliver that day - good thing there was one available because I drove all the way from VA that day! Within a few hours, earlier than expected, I received a call as I was out at Starbucks waiting, that my car was ready. The shop was apparently understaffed when I arrived due to an employee calling out sick, so it left an impression when my car was finished earlier than expected. Greg was very friendly and helpful. So far I'm very happy with my purchase and the service I received. I'd definitely recommend them! read more

Bought a remote starter for my parents for Christmas. Steve was awesome and gave me the box so I could wrap it as a gift. Had the install done today. They were courteous, friendly, knowledgeable. I have been dealing with the Columbia, MD Audio Connection for many years. Each time I have been there, I have had great service.

I called and asked them how much it would cost to install 2 subs and an amp. They said that it would be 125 for labor. When I came the next day to get them installed they were asking for an extra 35 dollars. I asked the manager why that was and he said that it was because my subs were not already in the box. I wouldnt mind paying the 35 dollars if they told me up front but they didnt. That is poor customer service. They do good work but their customer service is terrible. read more

I had a great experience at the Audio Connection in Columbia, MD and I would highly recommend this place! This was my second experience and it was so good that I wanted to submit a review. My first visit was back in December 2014. I had two remotes to my remote starter and both of them stopped working. The first remote the guy told me it was "damaged" and he couldn't service it for no cost. He took a look at the second remote and after tinkering with it for a bit he was able to fix the issue. I didn't mind that the first remote didn't work because I only needed one remote. A month later the one he fixed stop working again. I came back and the same guy helped me right away just like he did the last time. He was really nice and took care of my issue right away. At first he told me it was the battery but after replacing the battery it still wasn't working. So then he told me he would replace it. As he was getting prepared to replace it I was having a casual conversation about how I had to go back to the "broken" remote because I learned it would work if I took the case apart and press the button directly on the board. He asked if he could take a look at it and told me he would be right back. He quickly drove my car in the shop to program the replacement remote and was back in less than 5 minutes. He handed me both remotes and informed me that decided to replace both of them for me at no cost!!!!!! I was super excited!!! I really value amazing customer experiences and just from my expereince with the remote I will make sure to continue to do business with this shop. What I love is that on both trips they appeared to be very busy. But he stopped to take the time to ensure my issue was resolved which I appreciated very much. read more

The Audio Connection staff is very friendly and courteous, but more importantly, knowledgeable and efficient. I needed some fog lights installed on my new Accord (I purchased them through Amazon because Honda was rip off). Greg explained the process; I made an appointment; and the job was completed on time. The fog lights look great and they even replaced the switch at no charge because it was too big. Audio Connections in Columbia, MD has one of the most horrible services and labor that I came across. I have a practically new 2008 Lexus IS250 that my dealership (Lexus of Len Stoler) outsourced to Audio Connections. Audio Connections was responsible for installing an iPod interface kit along with SERIUS radio. After installation of the unit I am experiencing aggravating squeaking and retelling noises coming from my central console and the dashboard. Audio Connection is not able to resolve this issue after several fainthearted attempts and now the manager (Sean) is telling me that he is not able to hear any noise, essentially lying to my face. The noise can be heard loud and clear. At one point we went for the test drive, at what time Sean had identified the noise, had me pull over and vigorously pulled the carpet out of the center console to look at the work. He was extremely rude during the test drive and I left his business feeling insulted. I brought my car to Lexus of Annapolis that identified the issue and asked me to bring this issue to the attention of the dealership responsible for outsourcing this work. Manager of Lexus of Len Stoler told me that they are discontinuing their business with Audio Connections. My humble advice to you: DO NOT use any services provided by Audio Connections in Columbia, MD. read more
