Michael Russell with Beef Dip Sandwich Au Jus and Potato Leek Soup
    Michael R.

Absolute perfection from start to finish! We dropped in for dinner expecting typical pub fare, but the beef dip sandwiches here completely stole the show. The shaved beef was meltingly tender, piled high on fresh, toasted bread that held up amazingly well to the rich, deeply flavorful au jus. Every dip was absolute perfection. Also the potato leek soup, was a favorite. Scotty, our server made the dinner perfect because his service went above and beyond. He was really friendly brought our food out right away. The ambience of the restaurant is just like it is in Ireland. If you're looking for an Irish pub, this is the spot to be. We'll definitely be making this a regular dinner spot!

Some of the drink menu. There's 150 whiskey choices.

July 27, 2026 Never tried this pub before today. I'm missing the food I had in Dublin and wanted to try this version. It was good but not the same rich and savory flavor of the stews I enjoyed in Dublin. Mash was served inside the stew instead of on the side. The bread at Auld Dubliner's was ok; not as good as Dublin's. I loved that Harp Lager was on tap. Decor inside has the traditional Irish pub feel. Server was friendly. The only down side is parking can be challenging since it's downtown Long Beach. Delete the parking dilemma deter you from trying the Auld Dubliner

Stopped in for a pint. Decided I needed a couple of Scotch Eggs. Not sure why I was so surprised by the bill when it came, but that's what'll happen when you don't look at a menu. Next time I will!

Right across from the Long Beach Convention Center, the Auld Dubliner (located in the Pike Place Shopping Center) provides an authentic Irish Pub experience for locals and conventioneers, alike. Our group of three had a chance to stop in for lunch after catching a movie, and it ended up being a good experience, albeit pretty expensive. They don't have lunch specials, so expect to pay around $20 - $30 per person before tax/tip. (Happy Hour is after 3). Our small group had varied tastes, so decided to try various things to share. Our server was gracious in giving us extra plates. Fish & Chips ($24) - battered & fried haddocks with hand-cut chips & cole slaw. It was one giant piece of haddock filet, covered in an excellent batter. It's SO greasy, but had been deep fried very well, and an excellent example of a British fish fry, for sure. The fries were quite a bit thinner than chips I've had before, similar to any well deep fried fries at any fast casual restaurant. The cole slaw was fine. Beef Dip ($20) - really liked the bread, soft enough to easily eat without dipping, but sturdy enough to eat quickly if dipping is your thing. The meat was OK...thought it was sliced a bit thick, and there wasn't that much of it. Irish Nachos ($16) - for the price, thought it would be quite a bit better It was beautifully made, but basically nacho meatless toppings on top of the same generic fries. They do have a list of traditional British favorites, including Scotch egg, Gunness beef stew, and shepherd's pie. None of which really hit our fancy, so perhaps would be better to get those unique items vs more standard items that most restaurants have.

Loved the authentic Irish vibes you get at this bar. Irish music playing in the background as you chug your cold Guinness. I had 3 beers (half and half and 2 Kilkenny's) along w my crispy fish tacos and fries! Staff members were friendly and did an excellent job pouring my beer w perfect foamy head! Would visit again if in town, but for thos visiting, make sure to get a cold one!

It's been almost 20 years since we've been coming to the Auld Dubliner (aka the auld Dub). When we first heard the rumblings that the infamous Irish Pub Company was building a new Irish local, we couldn't wait for its opening. And since we first walked through the doors, we were in love. In love with the atmosphere, the perfectly pulled pints, the food (Dear God the Corned Beef Sandwich is a religious experience! ) and the characters of the staff. We've spent many occasions and life's moments here as well, From birthday dinners to at one time making it out Sunday Supper place to catch a traditional set and our dinner. The Sunday musicians are so good back in 2012 we hired a few to play at our engagement party, and brought a bit of the Auld Dub into our home. Today was no different, popped In for a family birthday celebration and stayed for a Sunday set. The music was fabulous the food amazing and the staff excellent! Ordered the usual: Curry Chips (cooked extra Well Done), and the best corned beef sandwich this side of the Atlantic! It's served perfectly on a crunchy swirled rye bread with an amazing apple jam of apples and caramelized onions. Just excellent! We also ordered an Irish Full Breakfast, which my soul craves every now and then! Basically you can't go wrong eating here.

We were waxing nostalgic for the Auld Dub, so away we went. There was no wait and there was a group of people at a table playing Irish music...I don't think they were Irish music enthusiasts who meet up, I think they were paid to play? They really set the tone for a great weekend. I wish I would have gotten the name of the band. If you love bar food, Irish music and an ice cold beer, this your place.

My friends and I were looking for a place to grab some food and drinks before heading to the queen mary dark harbor event. We decided to give this place a try. At the front of the entrance there was a sign that says, grab a menu and find a seat. We came here on a Saturday evening around 5pm. Our server took our order once we were seated. Two of my friends and I had the fish and chips and my other friend had the pub burger. The fish and chips was okay. The tartar sauce didn't have much flavor. Very bland in my opinion which made the fish and chips alright. The fish was good but nothing special. I do have to say our server was great. Brought our drinks quickly. Overall this place was okay.

Rolled in on a Saturday night with my girl to catch the SC game and run through their Halloween cocktail list, and we had a great time. Service (5 stars for Louie) Huge shoutout to LOUIE behind the bar dialed in all night, never missed a beat, and kept the vibe fun without ever letting our glasses run dry. Absolute pro. Drinks Kicked things off in true Irish pub fashion with a couple Irish Car Bombs, then dove into the themed cocktails * Poisoned Apple Martini -- best of the night for me it was crisp, seasonal, and balanced. * Vampire Kiss -- also good, festive without being too sweet. Closed the loop with another Car Bomb because...tradition. Atmosphere Classic pub energy with plenty of game day buzz, and once the live music started the place really came alive. Good crowd, lively but friendly perfect for posting up at the bar, watching the game, and soaking in the scene. Bottom Line A strong spot to grab a drink, catch a vibe, and enjoy some themed fun it's a solid 4 stars.

Had an amazing experience at the Auld. Starting from great customer service to going above and beyond. The food was absolutely delish, with good quality ingredients. Their whiskey selection is outstanding including Japanese whiskey, which is my to go right now.

Came here for lunch during Day #1 of my conference across the street. I ordered the Half and Half, the Guinness BBQ Burger and Champ. The beer is always yummy (big Guinness Fan!) the burger was juicy and the BBQ sauce was yummy. I just wished there were more sauce (I like a lot). The champ was super yummy and it added flavor to the already yummy mashed potatoes. Next time I'm in Long Beach, I know where to go. I love my Irish Pubs. Also, they had live music The wait from sitting to getting my drink order was decent but I assumed my sitting spot was slightly hidden.

We decided to order the Fish and Chips as it was recommended by the host, the Kilkenny Burger, and Irish Whiskey Steak. The fish and chips came with one very large piece of breaded fish. The fish was cooked well and was flaky. I did think it was oily because by the time I was cutting into it, the grease soaked into the bottom of the fish and it the breading was a little soggy. The burger was tasty, but had the same problem. The bottom bun became very soggy as it was dripping with extra grease. We ordered the steak medium rare, but received it rare instead. The steak was still tasty and the mashed potatoes and sauce were good and flavorful. As we were ending our lunch, a band set up outside. They asked us if the speaker level was ok as we were sitting a little close. I thought that was very considerate of them to ask. They said they were a Sublime inspired band and played some awesome reggae tunes, so much so that I was almost late to my other commitment as I did not want to leave. Overall, we had a good time at Shenanigans. They had good service, decent bar food, and great entertainment. I would probably try them again next time I am in the area.

The location is great -- right in downtown, easy to find. The space is huge, with a downstairs, an upstairs, and a full restaurant on the opposite side from the bar area where we sat. Cool setup overall. The service is where it fell apart. We walked in and told the hostess there were two of us; she just said "sit anywhere" without showing us to a table or explaining how things worked. We sat in a booth for a while -- no menus, no server, nothing. My friend was very drunk and badly needed water, so eventually I went up to the bar myself to ask how it worked. Turns out you order everything at the bar -- but nobody tells you that up front. I had to go up three separate times: once to figure out the system and get waters, once to place our food order, and again later just to get a water refill. That last refill was the most frustrating part. The bartender who'd helped us earlier saw me standing at the end of the bar and just walked away. I waited and waited, didn't want to be that person yelling over other customers, and eventually another bartender helped me out. It really wasn't busy that night either, especially for a night with a whole festival happening nearby, so there wasn't a good excuse for it. On the plus side: my hamburger was genuinely really good, and the whole meal for two came out to about $30 -- the cheapest we ate the entire trip. My friend got a tomato pesto cheese sandwich, though he was too far gone to give me a real opinion on it. Food gets a thumbs up, but the lack of any real table service and being ignored at the bar soured the whole experience. Probably won't be back unless I hear the service has improved.

Plenty of seating inside as well as the outside patio which was pretty big as well. The ladies behind the bar were amazing. Busy as they were trying to take care of everything and everyone. Drink specials did sound nice but we opted for the happy hour beer. Bar area was quite roomy with communal tables as well a private table. Bar seating was great as the television was right in-front of you. The tufted leather seats, leather high top seats give it that cigar lounge. A cool spot right in the heart of downtown Long Beach. They didn't serve food but was informed that hat someone was serving classic hot dog and burger out front. Having walked in and enjoying this place, it was worth it. Also one of the bartender that worked at another place we've been to also worked here. The whole place was nice and greatly enjoyed. Will be back for sure.
