Where do I begin? This is going to be long, but trust me you'll be better off reading the entire…read morepost. I purchased a 5 series BMW from this junk yard of a car lot the last day of JulAlong with the car, I purchased an extended warranty. In 3 days the engine blew and I contacted Bill. Man what a crooked liar of a business man. If this guy says he's your friend and cares about you and your family, watch out because he's about to get you GOOOOOD. Be very wary of a car dealership that has a body shop and mechanic off site. (Which was also cited for operating without a license.) Highline Auto Repair in Montclair just in case you're wondering. I was told that the car would be taken to somewhere and then they ended up taking it to a BMW dealership that said the engine needed to be replaced and would be in the neighborhood of $28,000. Since the car was under the dealerships "30 day" warranty AND my extended warranty, I figured it would be no worries and I'd have a new engine. Or some suitable solution. Boy was I wrong. I was told that my problem would be "pre-existing" and that the warranty company would not cover the repairs. Bill said he'd find an engine and we would discuss moving forward. What he actually did was replace the engine without my consent with some junk yard engine that had 20,000 MORE miles on it than the car actually had!! He then had the audacity to tell me that I owed him 1/2 of the repair. Which was only $3,000. How it went from $28,000 to $6,000 you could probably figure out. At any rate, I didn't want to go that route but I wasn't given a choice. He did the repairs even after I implicitly told him not to. I guess he forgot when we signed the contract it was MY car and MY property. After I refused to pay, he had my car on his lot for about 4 months. I was making the payments and got fed up. I had a spare key so I went to pick it up. Keep in mind these guys held my plates and registration. On the same day I freed my car from this guy I had a drivetrain malfunction light come on and the car didn't idle right. It had no power and acted like it was going to die. So I took it to a mechanic who said the spark plugs were all corroded and one of the coils needed to be replaced. Also the air filter was nearly completely clogged. So after $555 I was back on the road. What Bill didn't know was at the time the engine blew I contacted an attorney. I asked Bill several times to just take the car back and let's unwind the deal. At least 5 times I asked him in about 10 days. He said my only option was to pay to fix the car. I told him there was another option, but I'd rather not go there. I gave him several chances to make it right but the greed of this guy made him act like he had me pinned. The Auto Fraud Legal Center in San Diego immediately got on it and although it did take some time because this slimeball likes to stall, Bill finally took the car back and returned my down payment, all of my monthly payments, the insurance premium paid while he held my car hostage, the $555 repair bill, my court costs and my attorneys fees. All in all like $30,000 plus he ate the cost of the used motor. So, if you're there and see a White BMW 535i cream colored interior with za little hole in the passenger seat with 62 or 63K miles, just know the car actually has like 85,000 miles. I'm sure they'll show you a Carfax and everything. But I've got the invoice from BMW with the VIN that says otherwise. Oh, and I have the settlement agreement too. Just do yourself a favor keep driving past this cesspool. Because yes, dealerships don't have a crystal ball to see how a car will be a few days after it leaves their lot. I understand that. Most dealerships use that as a defense. But they have COMPLETE control over how they handle the situation if it arises. Frankly, Bill did a fantastically poor job of handling this situation like a professional. It took a court case to get him to budge. Very sad. I hope this helps anyone reading this. Thanks for paying me my money back. Enjoy the car! Avoid this dealership....

Once of the best choices I have ever made was going here. I have taken some time to write this…read morebecause I did not want to write a review that was without merit or value. In other words I truly wanted this review to be full of truth of experience and worth. Couple of things I was worried about. Buying a Car off Holt. Lets be honest there are not a lot of things that I have known that are good to buy off Holt other than street tacos. Not exactly the place I would think I would have an amazing customer service experience with great people and great product. Steve, and the Team here is what I would call Magnificent. I was not exactly what you would call an easy sale. I was also a bit strangely organized financially because of my type of business so I proved to be a bit of a challenge for them. Calm and collected they were never worried. Only me. I left this place driving an excellent car with great milage and what I would call no buyer remorse. Mostly because of the experience which I thought would or could get salted over time but it has not. There were a few issues with my purchase that involved the navigation and control module. Steve assured me he would help me take care of it and another minor issue was that the lights are so fogged up they hardly look they are on. Once I get to a place where I can drop this car off I will have it handled but either way I can say this. There is reason why this organization is 5 Stars. They do everything right. They have the cars you are looking for and more importantly the attitude needed to make a good experience. In sales its about the CAN DO attitude. I was frustrated and felt a bit hopeless and they made me feel like I mattered. Steve Knows Sales and the Finance Guy not only knew finances but also computers. It feels good to be treated with respect. This is going to be the place my entire family and friends get their cars from. Here are the reasons. GREAT PEOPLE GREAT PRICES STAND MY THEIR SALES AFTER SALES AND AFTER SALES CARE WORK WITH YOU TO MAKE WHATEVER THEY CAN HAPPEN THEY GO THE EXTRA MILE. THEY WORK WITH BAD CREDIT / ISSUES WITH CREDIT THEY WILL DO WHAT IS IN THEIR POWER TO MAKE THINGS WORK I won't share what Steve did for me as I closed the sale with him and took my new used car home but it was very kind and I think he does it for alot of people. A Little bit counts and goes a long way. I am thankful and grateful for LA COSTA Sales and look forward to more reviews and my family buys their next cars here. There is NOTHING and I do mean nothing that could have done better. Excellent work guys. Sorry for the delay but I really wanted this review to be full of truth, reflection and longevity. CONS: Holt Ave is not somewhere you want to be late at night. CONS: A Little Stuffy in the Sales Room CONS: Issues with Car / PRO - Not an issue for a team of people who want your experience to be a good one. They know what to do, how to do it and where to go if anything does come up. Used Cars are not exactly iron clad anything can happen but they seem to have most of the things you need covered or can handle any minor issues you need to take care of or the direction to point you to. 30 Years + Years of Business and Integrity and Experience makes this place a no brainer to shop for your next used car. If you are going to buy a used car and have no choice the good part is the choice of where to buy it has already been made up. Reviews like this for a car dealership like this is unheard of. Truly A Diamond in the Rough. BUY YOUR CAR here!

The 2 Lacosta brothers running this business are the most honest and trustworthy salesmen you can find in the area. They specialize in affordable used cars! Come here to buy, sell or trade! My family has been coming here since our struggling origins. When I say struggles, I mean, we were a ONE CAR household. My dad would drop my mom off at work in the mornings and either he or my aunt would pick my mom up from work. We had a humble living and even with one car, we couldn't afford anything too new. The La Costa brothers were there to provide their automotive knowledge and extremely reliable recommendations. The cars we purchased from them throughout the years had no headaches. When it was time to afford to budget a second car into our household, it was legendary. We felt extremely blessed and fulfilled to have what others would imagine to be basic necessities. La Costa Auto Sales was a major factor in making that transition possible for their reasonable rates and reliability. I will always always feel grateful that they were able to be there for us during tough times. Pass forward to the present, we are blessed to afford to buy newer cars from the Honda dealership, but that leaves us with an "old" car on hand. Honda offered quite an insulting value, and my dad immediately said No thank you! We knew selling it to La Costa Auto Sales would be an honest amount, whatever the offer would be. We saw Steve, and he did a thorough inspection and pulled up the car's official reports, and gave us his professional opinion. We knew it wouldn't be much, but we definitely trusted and appreciated any "value". That car has been good to our family for two decades, and it was really hard to let go. We trust that it will be good to its' new owner, and still keep the car in our prayers. As a family who has bought, traded and sold cars with La Costa Auto Sales for nearly three decades, I can in all honestly give them the ultimate seal of approval. When we have relatives or friends who are just starting out, need a used car for a beginning driver, or looking for a reliable used car, we would always direct them here and trust that a positive transaction would take place for both parties.

I was there to see a high mileage car, this was well over 10% of the value of the vehicle, so the advertised price was meaningless. They offered to remove some of it (but still weren't willing to sell the car for the advertised price), also weren't willing to allow for a pre-purchase inspection. I wasn't enamored enough with the car to make those concessions. Edit to add: I was specifically told that the added items were mandatory and they would not take the entire price off. The "dealing" started at $1600 over the advertised price (on a $13000 car) and they brought it down to about $500 over the advertised price, while telling me that I was actually getting a deal because the addon package price was going up to over $2000. This car had 107K miles on it, I was not looking to buy a paint protection package. I was told they price the vehicles low to "be at the top of the search" and then add the added items to bring the price up to what they are willing to sell the car for. This is explicit false advertising. This wasn't a miscommunication, the deal sheet was quite clear and I was told they would not go any lower. If they were willing to sell the car for the advertised price I would have written a check on the spot. They also declined to allow me to leave a deposit so I could have a mobile mechanic come for a PPI, and while they offered to sell me a 3 day option to return for $250 they also said if I did need to return it there would be a restocking fee of "at least $500." I kind of laughed at the idea that if a mechanic found a major issue their inspection missed they'd charge us more money.

Not to mention I've purchased the car 2 months ago still no plates and barley got my Stickers and guess what only valid for 2 months "because I insisted getting registration done sooner" but wasn't notified or told that I only "insisted" because I was harassed 3 times by the police regarding my car Being a 04 with no plates apparently older cars are supposed to be sold with plates. Very upset that I choose this car, I knew the mileage was on thehigher side but expected a better experience. Also I had a lot of other problems with this car before I had to let this car go , my starter went out and I texted them regarding my problem but fixed it myself and funny I was a couple days behind on my paymen due to working 3 jobs at the time, they asked if my car was fixed and then my car was repossessed the next business day due to "lack of communication " like really not because I was late but because of lack of communication not only that but they stole 380 dollars from wallet and tried to act like they didn't know what I was talking about even the officers that came out to the lot agreed that these people were shady and there stories were fishy and didn't sound right.

During the time my account was open and I was making payments on the vehicle his car company illegally tracked me(there is no tracker or tracker agreement for the car) and they showed up where I was numerous times without any true need. Once they even illegally entered a gated private property and entered the car. We did not know this at the time until we came to our car and over $200 was missing. We called the police and reviewed footage, they told the police "we were just checking on our property the car is ours we are the lien holder"). I finished making all payments on the vehicle in September 2025 yet they refused to respond to my communications for over 120 days in which I was requesting they mail me the car title. I had to come back to the state of CA in person to the lot to demand my car title. In addition to that I registered the tags for this year in February and learned they are still the lien holders over the vehicle and have not released the vehicle with the DMV although ca law requires dealers to release the title and vehicle with the DMV within 30 days, it has now been six months since I fully purchased the vehicle. I am now in the complaint process with the state and more than likely will have to proceed with a lawsuit just to have the legal rights to a car I already fully paid of as of September 2025. These people really are scammers , a big headache avoid these dirt bags if you can ! I attached receipt with my review see the images yourself. UPDATE: I FILED MY COMPLAINT WITH THE CRIMINAL DIVISION OF THE DMV in March 2026. Since that time We Care Auto has been enlisting individuals to harass me to stalk me to illegally surveil me to illegally track me and to intimidate me. They have been following me all around from County to County making threatening remarks harassing me breaking into the vehicle committing and onslaught of crimes such as reckless endangerment reckless driving breaking and entering trespassing and residential burglary to retaliate against me for filing a complaint with the state and contacting law enforcement AKA asserting my rights and engaging in protected activity and this in not the first time they have engaged in this conduct. In May 2024 they engaged in similar conduct by illegally tracking me and breaking and entering into gated private residential property, and causing a large disturbance that impacted more than half of the gated community and put my housing at risk all because they indicated they did not know if I was going to make my car note payment that month which was due on that very day that they committed those Acts, the business day wasn't even over yet. Citizens have a right to file a complaint and contact law enforcement and access the courts. Nobody scared of these clowns so they might want to leave us TF alone. As far as we can see they are gon get themselves and the ppl they are sending out hurt and in trouble. We already hired investigators and it leads back to them, our documentation is certified. We going to go get our car checked and if we find out that they have illegal tracking equipment on the vehicle we paid in full and fully purchased from them in September 2025, they are going to be in court by next week for privacy invasion harassment illegal surveillance, ETC!! I FILE A LAWSUIT FOR A LIVING IT'S NOTHING TO A BOSS!!!! DEAR COMMUNITY, YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!! & Yes I got a good car, it takes me all over, got it from here two years ago very easy no real hussle (at 1st) and the car runs good no major repairs have been needed. The car is great even at over 200,000 miles. Just pick if you want to deal with these ppl. Maybe your are desperate but at least you know the cost of your desperation.
