But when I had a known defect, and it cost me $2,000 to fix on the road at a dealer (and 2 nights hotel over a weekend after being towed from middle of nowhere), they just lied. They promised to get back to me. I understand being busy, so I waited for salesman to return call. Then I escalated to manager on duty when I stopped in store (and returned their inventory control fobs). No response after 4 phone calls. Then I escalated to Sales manager. Promise to resolve and work with service manager. Multiple calls later no response since before Memorial day. We are now well past 4th of July and looking hard at Labor Day. Even if they would not honor the problem, I asked if they would reach out to Subaru of America on my behalf to see they support. So 2.5 out of 5 for commitment to customer. The part that really frustrated me is they screwed up filling my license plate transfer for 3 months that they charged for. That set me up for an Deerfield cop with ALPR to give me a ticket that took me hours and hours of time at: - the Secretary of State, - talking to my insurance company, - talking to McGrath (at various levels and waiting for someone else to be in 'tomorrow'), - talking to my lawyer, - calling Springfield office of Secretary of State, and - a whole day to drive up to Waukegan for the ticket costing me more gas, tolls and a day of work. So 1 out of 5 for following their contracted, legal, fiduciary duty to file paperwork with State of Illinois (by simple computer website). I hate seeing a License plate holder from any of the McGrath dealerships on cars around Chicagoland. TLDR: They lie and don't follow up to their commitments.

I just wanted to come back on here after our most recent service and leave a better review. They got rid of a lot of the people I had problems with and it honestly feels like things here improved a lot! I'm also writing this review to say that Jocelyn Nava is our go to service agent. Working with her is always pleasant because she truly displays great customer service skills. I'm glad to see that she still works here and a lot of the people who exuded bad energy are gone. It was also nice that they washed my Rav 4. I appreciate that a lot. Service has improved immensely.

I already have some reservations with this place because of their owners questionable political leanings (feel free to google him), but the thing that kept me in the contract was the service work that they did. That ended today. I came in and somehow left with over $400 in charges to fix up my car. While this might be small potatoes to most, I do have a service contract. On top of that, they charge for "shop supplies" and have a 3% credit card fee. I asked them to explain "shop supplies" and they really couldn't. Since I had to get to work and didn't want to argue over $38, I accepted it this time. They used to be really hands on with the customers and really walk them through the process so that everybody felt valued. I saw the Rep once when I walked in and she just went through the motions. No more updates, texts, anything. From now on, I will be bringing my car in for oil changes only. I will not be spending another cent more. If the will refund me the remaining part of my contract, I will go to the Toyota dealership a little closer to my house that is not part of this group.

It was a decent experience then, but it was an excellent experience now. We even used their service department and never had an issue. We initially were going to buy at a dealership closer to our new home, but they just couldn't match up to what we were looking for and it felt icky. So we went back to Evanston. The lot at the dealership itself is a bit small and doesn't hold all of the cars in inventory. So as we were looking for the perfect vehicle, we realized that the right cars were at their other lot behind Target. So we had them find the 3 we were considering and pull them out for us to check out. The one we went there for missed a few boxes on our wish list, but the new soul red CX70 with the moonroof was exactly what we were after. Lastly, was the financing, we actually went in expecting to buy at 4.9 percent and they ended up financing at 1.9 percent. That value is really hard to find! The price was right, the interest rate was right, and the car was right. This has been a pleasure.

So if you have a brake problem they do a supposedly entire car inspection to upsell you on tires, brakes, filters, fluids etc. All that time should be spent on working on the reason you brought your vehicle in the first place!! Total rip off!!!
