Many dealerships, and their service departments, get ragged on AND trashed, and deservedly so. However, my experience with Jennings VW left me rushing to share how wonderful they were. About a month and a half ago, some lowlife stole the catalytic converter and attached 02 sensors from my vehicle overnight. I had the converter and sensors replaced at a shop through my insurance, but my Check Engine came on afterwards. The sensors were replaced first with aftermarket parts, then a second time with OEM parts, but the light kept coming on each time. My insurance authorized me to take it to the nearest VW dealer so they could diagnose the issue, and that dealer turned out to be Jennings VW. THANK GOODNESS!! I called and scheduled an appointment, and when i arrived, Michael was there to get my info and have my car looked at. He was incredibly, *incredibly* polite and friendly, and kept me well informed the whole way. I had never been to Jennings before, never purchased a vehicle from them, so it's not as if i was anyone special. I was just some random dude needing an issue diagnosed, but i was treated like a VIP customer who had purchased multiple vehicles from there. Michael explained everything to me, gave me a timeframe on how long the parts would take to arrive, the install time, etc, and i left my car. I picked up my vehicle today, and everything is in working order, just as i had hoped. I cannot sing Michael and Jennings VW's praises enough. If negative stars was possible. Took my car in because it was shaking. was told my rotors are bad (car had less than 15k miles.) Had to pay out of pocket for replacement. Then engine slipping, took 2-3 visits to "find" a problem. Replaces something and it was ok for 2-3 months. Transmission is slipping again and I was told, Tiguans do that, nothing we can do. Took in for a noise the car was while turning, was told its covered under warranty when I dropped it off. Got a phone call saying my brakes were supposedly incorrectly installed when I had my rotors done and that's not warranty so i have to pay because they fixed the problem (without permission. I paid just to figure out later that day, they NEVER fixed the problem. (apparently it wasn't the body shop that improperly installed my brakes or they also improperly installed the brakes this time around). Someone name Otto, service director calls me back and says bring it in this time free of charge. I said i want a refund because i never authorized repairs but reluctantly paid when you claimed you fixed it, but clearly did not. I made a comment that i have a new car but nothing but problems (he laughed at me and said "new car?" so i said "sorry 3 year old car which i consider new") BEYOND rude and condescending. goes on to tell me to call VW and complain why they make cars that the engine stalls when shifting from 1st to 2nd, thats not his problem. Conclusion is he will not refund me for a job he charged me for but never did. Told me to take my business else where. So I contacted VW directly. As of now I am waiting to hear what is going to happen. But the lady at VW was very nice, was confused herself why i needed to pay out of pocket for rotors months after buying a brand new car (it had 7 miles, not sure if Otto considers that new). I have owned every kind of car, but this has been my worse experience, but i really think Jennings is the problem more than VW. BEWAREEEEEEE!!!!!!!! I will hire a lawyer if I need, I have all the texts and lies documented. Note to Jennings. You need to hire new people to deal with customers. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! read more

WOW! I have never had an easier, more fluid, wonderful car buying experience. They really know what they are doing here! I found my car online and called and spoke to the manager, Arek who was wonderful. He gave me a bottom line price and didn't make me play the typical car buying game. If I could rate it at - 5 stars I would. I have a 30 plus years of car leasing experience and have never been treated as badly as at this dealership. They lied about upfront costs and ripped off my daughter who was leasing her first car. To make matters worse they absolutely refused to resolve the issues and the sales person Daniel Sepulveda was outright rude and nasty accusing me of extortion when I tried to offer a solution. I've never been treated so horribly in my life. I am currently in process of filing a complaint with VW customer relations, BBB and state of Illinois consumer affairs. Updating my review, service has redeemed itself and Lily got the last star for a wonderful sales job on a new Atlas. I just purchased my second car from Jennings VW and I am very happy with the service received. The first was a Tiguan 3 years ago during Covid when they were honest and did not profiteer like many other dealerships. I will not go into my experience which was positive since the salesman left at some point. This week I purchased an Atlas from Lily with an assist from Arek. Lily was extremely knowledgeable about the different products and really worked hard to make the deal. The car I chose was actually on order to the dealership and she maintained exceptional communication while I waited for the car to get in. When the time came to close the sale, they did not play games like many dealerships. Arek the sales manager came into the room, they made an offer, I countered, we both waved our hands in the air and we came to deal. There was no running back and forth and playing games. Once we were ready to make the deal, it took only a few minutes to hammer things out. For this purchase, I visited a variety of dealerships of several brands. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. I have never felt this disappointed and taken advantage of by a service department. I brought my Volkswagon Golf here with a focus on looking into the front assist not working. The EPC light had also turned on a couple of weeks before this, but immediately turned off when I restarted the car and it continues to drive like normal. I figured I would still mention it since they were taking a look at the car anyways. I was in for quite a surprise when they called to inform me that the "turbo is going out" and that it would be upwards of $8K for parts/labor. Not only was this a shock as the car has 75K miles on it and was only purchased 3 years ago, but it also induced an incredibly high level of panic & stress that I would not wish upon anybody. They warned me that my car could break down at any time and proceeded to quote me an additional $1K for fixing the front assist (the original issue I brought it in for). I decided to get a second opinion as opposed to paying them $9K and paid the $350 they charged me upon picking up my vehicle for "diagnostics". They had originally tried to charge me $450, but luckily someone with a soul at this dealership pointed out that it should actually be $350 to the SENIOR service advisor writing up my receipt. Beware of Jennings Volkswagen and think twice before getting service done or moving forward with any sort of transaction at this dealership. They will capitalize off of you without batting an eye and will dismiss any questions/concerns you have. Also! The second opinion I got confirmed my turbo is fine and didn't even charge because there "wasn't any work to do on it". Their estimate to fix my turbo (if I ever need) was half of what Jennings quoted me. I am grateful that there are still honest, transparent auto repair shops out there UNLIKE Jennings Volkswagon. read more

We didn't end up buying a car from this dealer because post covid, car buying is different and they either have the one you want - as is - or they don't. In this case, they didn't. BUT. I would absolutely return in a moment to do business with them and would recommend them highly. We talked to Daniel who was an incredibly down to earth salesman. He was transparent with all fees and costs associated with the car. Our interactions were straightforward and there was nothing off putting about any of it. The one wrinkle - they didn't have (and weren't going to soon get) the car we needed and so we couldn't complete our purchase with them. I had the best car buying experience I've EVER had thanks to Jennings VW! This past week has been super busy and overwhelming for me, so when I contacted Jennings to end the lease on my 2018 Tiguan early and swap into a newer model, I stressed the importance of not spending my Saturday at a car dealership for hours. Without skipping a beat, everyone at Jennings totally honored and respected my request! Kyle Altick, my sales rep, did most of the paperwork via email, an associate in training, Kidy, spent whatever time was needed to process everything when I got to the dealership by going over everything in the car and answering my questions (safety and tech features, etc.), and Eric Dickson (financing) made the paper signing quick and easy. Plus, everyone from the receptionist to the cashier was super friendly. I got to the dealership at 10am and was driving out with my GORGEOUS 2021 Tiguan SEL at 11:15! I got my last Tiguan at Downtown VW three years ago and have received terrible service ever since (from sales to service). They were the first I went to as my lease was ending, but they wanted to give me a lower trim for a higher price. Jennings gave me the exact same trim I previous had for a price I was comfortable with. Sold my SUV of 13 years and needed to find a vehicle asap. I spoke with Ziggy (Sales Manager) on a Tuesday night and discussed my needs. He said to come in in the following morning and he would have a salesman help me. I showed up the next day, Ziggy greeted me (5 min prior to then opening up) and introduced me to Jonathan. Jonathan asked me general questions and then took me out on a test drive. If I could rate them zero I would! Buyer beware! Dirty sales tactics! This dealership has gone off the deep end with absolutely atrocious customer service. We bought our very first VW Jetta from there in 2000. 23 years and it's awful! Jonathan Daniel was our salesman and flat out lied about trade in value. Do Not buy here! Ziggy will just continue the lies and does absolutely nothing to make the deal fair. I went to dealership to try to get a resolution today and they are extremely rude, defensive(because they are guilty) and accusatory. They lie to you about trade in prices. Act like they can match or beat carmax and then come in much lower. Lie about the condition of your car that still has remaining warranty, how two new tires and new brakes installed in July. Pretend they contacted carmax, but after further investigation carmax says absolutely not. They switch the trade in value saying they are giving you $28,600 but then in the finance papers they give $25,740. I would have walked out and left the deal if that was clear. The finance guy gave us his whole life story all while never touching on the trade in price of our vehicle. I wonder why. They lied and said my costco pricing required the $300+ dealer add on security system. They didn't make us aware of this additional cost in any of the emails asking about pricing. Costco said absolutely not they didn't require it. Costco is now currently investigating the deal as we went in with the costco auto buying program. They try to talk you into a bunch of extra warranty stuff you don't need in the finance room instead of of being honest about trade in prices and this phantom security system they would not show me how it actually works while in the dealership today. They are dirty snake oil salesmen. Never Again! Arek continues to lie and pretend they didn't use unscrupulous sales tactics. Don't believe the lies! If you choose to buy here, get them to email you every number you agree on. Triple check your paperwork that all numbers are correct! Because they will bait and switch on you! Jennngs VW lost my trust yesterday and today After 3 years of taking my VW Jetta to Jennings for service, and all the years we took our prior 2009 VW EOS there, I was really disappointed to realize that I was being oversold on my next service which is the 40,000 mile / 4 year service. My car is 4 years old now, but we bought it in another state when it was about one year old, and had 9,000 miles on it. Now it has just under 27,000 miles. Jennings says my car needs new spark plugs For this service. The service advisor surprised me with this yesterday, and today the service director Ado said the same thing - even after he agreed that the online VW service manual states that spark plugs for my car are an 80,000 mile or 6 year (whichever comes first) maintenance item. While Jennings is a convenient location for us, we have 2 other VW dealers nearby, so we're switching dealers for service. ive been to.d all my car really needs is an oil and oil filter change. read more

Recently visited the dealership to explore the possibility of acquiring a new car. Long story short I was unable to make a deal that worked for me. Generally, my experience was good my problem was with the so called general sales manager. Initially friendly but when I challenged him about the value of my probable trade-in vehicle things changed. He was off by two years as the age of my car. He was very dismissive of my opinion of value, because the car is in excellent condition.
