I am so glad I found this place. The beer list is extensive and the food is good. I had never had a cherry sour before but it was delicious. The schnitzel sandwich was great. The peppers in it really add to the sandwich and the chicken was crispy. The servers were all great wish I could recall their names. This place is about an hour out from where I live but I would def make the drive back again.

A friend and I were meeting up over a quick lunch. She really enjoyed her soup of the day which was chock full of sausage and flavorful broth. My salad had veggie goodness on it along with chicken. It was refreshing to have a salad with a topping such as asparagus. No drinks for us this time, although we did get a chance to take a peek in the speakeasy. We will definitely be back to check that out! Excellent service. The manager was so cool that when I asked for change in ones, and he didn't have any, he sent one of his servers to the bank to get some. Talk about service! Great location just off the 210 in The Colonies with plenty of parking.

Janet is incredibly rude. I came off the bike trail and needed a glass of water. I was witnessing my friend's AMAZING RIFF RAFF band perform and she decided to be incredibly rude. LUCKILY Ian had the upmost respect and helped me find where to put my bike and show support after your my awful encounter with Janet. Moving forward take some tips from your sister store in Claremont. The service you provide EVERY guests matters!

Came here with friends for the first time. We enjoyed the Claremont location so we were excited to try Upland location. We came for drinks and small plates. The dark ambiance and "Special entrance" is pretty cool! IYKYK. Our server Katrina was super helpful and gave us great service. The bartender knocked the drinks outta da park! The tobacco smoked Old Fashioned was perfect for the experience. The Stagg Jr Old Fashioned 130 proof is dangerous, but amazing! Bring a designated driver for that one! The bone marrow with toasted crostini was fatty and flavorful.Reservations are recommended if you want to enjoy the cigar lounge

First time at this location, and had been awhile since being at the one in Claremont. The food service and atmosphere were top notch. The drinks were amazing and our server Katrina was very friendly. Will definitely have to come back. My favorite drink was the Stagg Jr old fashioned.

My husband and I have been to The Back Abbey in Claremont, but we recently came to the one in Upland for the first time. We came during the weekend when they have their brunch menu available. A plus for us is that they have an outdoor patio that's dog friendly. We arrived a little after 10:00am with two of our dogs. We were immediately greeted and told that we could pick any table we wanted. There's actually a very nice view from the outdoor patio. We were trying to eat a little cleaner after the holidays so we both got water and both ordered the Steak Salad ($18.00) and added avocado for an additional charge. The Steak Salad comes with grilled beef tenderloin, mixed greens, peppadew peppers, red onions, and feta cheese dressed in sun-dried tomato vinagrette. It was very good. Our server checked on us several times, refilled our waters, and asked if our dogs wanted a water bowl. They had a lot of items on their brunch menu that sounded really good so next time, I will have to try more items.

Came here with my girlfriends and our fur babies and it was the best! Our server Britney was amazing and we'd come back just to have her again! The food was great -- we got the filet salad, pomme frites, blt, and beignets. For drinks I got a chimay and delirium which were also awesome. Outdoor patio was a vibe and we enjoyed the ambiance. 10/10

My friend recommended this place to me around her birthday but we couldn't go that day. We decided to visit today and I was so excited because she was hyping the place up but it turned out to be underwhelming. The menu was two side front and back with not many options and or substitutions, the prices were a little insane for what I would allocate as something basic, among other things. I ordered their breakfast burrito pictured in the photo to which I had to to order a meat as an add on and when it came it unfortunately looks as if they just stuck the steak in there and said "there you go". The food had no seasoning and needed salt, pepper and even hot sauce to make it edible to my standards. I was the most excited because my friend told me they had beignets so I was expecting the traditional large size, light and airy, golden brown with to much powdered sugar but when they came they were comparable size of a half dollar, they were mostly dough and had hardly and powdered sugar. The inside was mostly pretty but they were unsettling photos in the establishment that for lack of better word made me feel unwelcome

I stopped in to The Back Abbey in Upland specifically to try their Abbey IPA from Hamilton Family Brewery--and it did not disappoint! The beer was excellent, with a smooth, well-balanced flavor that really hit the spot. Beyond the beer, the overall vibe of the restaurant was great. The bar is welcoming and well-stocked, and the outdoor seating made for a perfect place to relax and enjoy the day. Service was friendly and attentive, rounding out a very enjoyable visit. Whether you're in it for the drinks, the food, or the atmosphere, The Back Abbey delivers.

Our (2) Bach Abbey Burgers, steak and Pommes Frites, fresh made potato soup and a huge pretzel. Too bad we couldn't try drinks from the bar

The blue cheese burger I wished were a bit stronger in blue cheese flavor (as a person who loves lots of blue cheese), but the burger was definitely filling for both the eyes and the tummy. The only thing I wished is that the burger didn't feel as heavy/greasy, but if that were the case, I probably wouldn't have chosen a burger. That said, the grease did feel like it took away from the flavors, making the burger tasting milder than I had wanted. That said, it was very enjoyable overall. The dog menu was surprisingly different from what I've seen. It was surprisingly healthy looking with the amount of vegetables they added to my dog's bowl including some Brussels sprouts. There was no rice at all, which was fine for me since my dog doesn't really like rice. Unfortunately, he is so picky, so he picked out the chicken from the vegetables even with me pre-mixing it, and I think the vegetables are too firm to his liking. However, I appreciate the food being healthy and the portions, even if he himself will not really eat most of it. I'm sure some other dog will do a lot better with the bowl!

We had about 26 people, and I was so concerned that I wouldn't be able to find a place that could seat us all on a Saturday evening. I emailed with Alex, the taproom manager, a little less than 2 weeks before the date I wanted, and she told me that they would be able to accommodate us! I was so incredibly relieved! After our axe throwing, we walked the VERY short walk across the street, and Alex and her staff had our tables ready to go for everyone! They made our huge group feel so welcomed and taken care of from the moment we got there! Alex explained to us that the food and drinks are ordered at the registers, which made it so easy and convenient for everyone to not have to worry about doing separate checks for a big group (that can get confusing and messy sometimes). The beers, seltzers, and food were all incredible!!! Even the most particular people in our group raved about how good everything was, and trust me when I say, that is a high compliment! The staff were absolutely incredible as well! They were so knowledgeable about the beers, so patient with our big group, and were just so helpful and kind! Everyone is still talking about how great everything was, and I'm truly so grateful to Alex and the rest of the staff at Rescue Brewing for making my husband's birthday so amazing!! We appreciate you all so much, and we can't wait to come back soon!

I must say, the brewery really stands out with their bright and appealing logo out front. When we went in, the place was packed, but we were able to find a table for the four of us. To our surprise, they didn't just have a huge beer selection--they also offered a large variety of seltzers and cocktails for anyone who wasn't in the mood for beer. I decided to try the Tart of War, and my taste buds were in for a pleasant surprise. This sour beer had delicious notes of strawberry, pineapple, coconut, and vanilla. The brewery had a lot of TVs, which was perfect because I was able to catch the Lakers game that night. The bartenders were super friendly and worked efficiently, even with such a large crowd. The 90's alternative rock playing in the background had all of us nodding along. Overall, we had a fantastic time and will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu. They also seem to have a happy hour on Wednesdays from 6-9 PM with food and drink specials, which is definitely worth checking out.

When we called ahead, no one mentioned they were only serving a limited St. Patrick's Day menu today. Nothing from the regular menu was available. My daughter ended up eating plain fries the whole time because there wasn't a single kid-appropriate option. It felt misleading after being told it's family-friendly when we called prior to coming. The place was packed. The line was out the door, and we had a long wait. Inside was uncomfortably hot and stuffy too. I was eyeing the Cottage Pie but asked the server about peas (not a fan), and she said it might have a lot, so I passed. My wife ordered it instead since she doesn't mind peas and surprise, zero peas in it. She said it was just okay, nothing special, so I guess I didn't miss out. I went with the Irish Nachos instead. They were fine, but the house-made potato chips were underwhelming. Crispy but not flavorful. The standout was the lemon pepper wings. Those were actually really good. Green beer was a fun thematic touch too. Atmosphere is lively for the holiday, but for a regular visit or even future St. Patrick's Day? Probably not coming back. If you're planning to go on the big day, brace for crowds and waits. And for fun, here's a limerick summing it up: There once was a pub in Upland so grand, For St. Paddy's we joined hand in hand. But the menu was slim, Kid options were grim, Just fries for our lass, what a bland! The heat made us sweat, lines out the door, Cottage Pie? "Peas maybe." We weren't sure. No peas in the end, Wife said "meh" my friend, Nachos were fine, wings we adored. Green beer was cool, but that's all the cheer, Average at best, won't return here. Three stars is the call, For the holiday thrall. Fun once, but not every year!

The bottomless mimosas ($29.99) sound like a great deal, but just know how they run it. There's a 90-minute minimum, and they don't bring a bottle to the table--you get one mimosa at a time, and you have to finish it before they'll bring another. The first one I got tasted like straight orange juice barely any champagne. I sent it back and to their credit, they remade it much better They mentioned they control pours to keep the environment in check, which I understand--but if you're expecting free-pour vibes, that's not the case here. Food-wise: French toast & breakfast potatoes were really good However the Chilaquiles were super dry and lacked flavor--wouldn't recommend Burger & fries were decent, but nothing special As for drink pricing, it does lean a bit on the higher side. bucket of 5 beers was around $42, $15 for a Tito's vodka shot, and even a basic Jack and Coke came out to about $18 with tip, which felt a little steep for the area. the best deal was definitely the green tea shots at only $9 I will say, our waitress Priscilla was great. She had a lot of tables and seemed a bit overwhelmed, but she still made an effort to check on us and kept my mimosas coming pretty promptly. I didn't have to wait long at all between refills, which I appreciated. Since we went for a special event, the DJs were great and really kept the energy up the whole time Parking was easy. It did say there was a $2 fee, but when we printed the ticket, we weren't charged--so it might be free, but I'd still double-check at the kiosk just in case. Overall: decent spot for the vibe, music, and brunch outing, but just be prepared for controlled drinks and slightly higher prices.
