Where the steamed shrimp lacked Bay seasoning, they made up for it with the delicious cocktail sauce! We also enjoyed baked chicken wings with the Alabama white sauce- yum!! It took forty-five minutes for our appetizers to be served. The crab dip and wings were luke warm. I ordered a beer that took an hour to be served and I told the waiter to take it take!! I was so excited to try this place out but left VERY disappointed. I ordered the individual size shrimp and feta pizza, which I thought would be good. It was luke warm and repulsive. I couldn't even eat half of it. I think the worst part of it all is that they use colby jack cheese on this pizza, which (in my opinion) is disgusting paired with shrimp, and not very good with feta either. One of the pieces of shrimp was either not cooked all the way (it was about half rubbery and translucent), or the pizza had been sitting out fo a while before they brought it to the table: both of these were feasible. Let's just conclude talking about this abomination of a pizza by saying I had enough drinks to be tipsy when I got it, and I still thought it was horrid. Should have gone with the buffalo chicken pizza... :-( My husband got the scallop sliders and LOVED them. My father-in-law got steamed clams and loved them. Mother-in-law got shrimp and said it was okay. The crab dip for the appetizer was edible, but nothing to rave about. I think Back Deck is a good place to drink with a nice view. The view was great! Loved the outdoor seating and the view on the water. The food was decent, but I feel like they should have had more side options. With that being said, I was very disappointed with the service. They didn't really seem like they knew what they were doing and it took forever to get our food. There were multiple tables that sat down after us and got their food before us when we had simple dishes that should've taken 15 minutes max. Still go charged $10 as if it was crab Mac and was not told or offered the crab on the side. We spent $250 on dinner and the bar tender continued to shut the garage doors so people couldn't "sneak in"! It changed the temperature by 15-20 degrees and was stifling. 2 tips: #1. Maybe have a conversation with your guest before slamming the doors and telling them NO - THE DOORs MUST STAY SHUT!! #2. Change the signage that says "please seat yourself" if you don't mean it. Maybe it should say "if you'd like a table, please go to the front entrance". Just a thought! FYI - our waitress was good, helper was awesome and food and drinks was great! I love the laid back vibe of this place and the fact that it's on the water; however, I witnessed my server drop my sandwich on the ground, pick it up, add more chips to my plate and serve it to me. What the? And I was charged full price. Our server actually dropped a bunch of food for my table but I definitely saw my sandwich being picked up off the dirty floor. I have never written a review , but this bad experience felt worth it. I have tried this place a few times before, and the food has never been great, but my mom wanted to try the seafood platter so I gave it one more chance. The waitress we had today, a short blonde girl with a unique ponytail was rude and had an attitude the whole time. She didn't introduce herself when she greeted us so I don't know her name. When she brought our platter which was 45min after ordering she just dropped it on the empty part of the table next to us and said "seafood platter" and walked away. I felt like I was dealing with a high-school mean girl, it was uncomfortable. The platter was not super warm, there was a hair in the oyster, and the crab tasted like pinesol. We were a party of four. Greeted nicely and told to seat ourselves. Found a nice table and sat down. After 10 minutes I got up to get my own menu. Take your drink and sit out on the water! Great little place and wonderful atmosphere, and super friendly employees! Mean margarita.

Our server Hannah was so amazing! She was prompt, courtious and accurate with our orders. The food tasted great, my kids had a good time and Hannah completed the entire experience! I would highly recommend this establishment as a nice pit stop for some drinks and finger foods. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because one of the women working seemed to be quite short and irritated with not only her staff but her customers as well. I can't write too lengthy of a review as I was only here for about thirty minutes but it reminded me enough of plenty of places I've been to in NYC which is enough for me to base it off of. The view is great. And this really isn't the place you go to when you're hungry and wanting to be cared for and attended to. The scene is quite rowdy. The place smells like a typical bar of spilt beer. Waitresses are everywhere and nowhere at the same time. You'll definitely wait for whatever it is you order, or even for a menu to be brought to you. The prices are ok and it's definitely more of a group hangout spot. My husband and I came here and just weren't digging the vibe and realized this isn't where we were going to get the dinner we were looking for. Basically everything on the menu is appetizer like and bar food. Perhaps if we return with a large group of friends it could be fun as a pre dinner drinks area after the beach or something. But for the most part I am not big into the bar scene so if you have that mentality you probably won't enjoy this place. It's filled with young 20 something year olds who are all pretty loud and hyped up. Definitely don't come here if you're looking for a quiet happy hour. read more

So disappointing! I was so looking forward to coming here for a few beers and an appetizer, especially with the great view. My sister ordered a glass of wine-which was literally hard to drink, it was like the bottle had sat there opened for 2 weeks. It has obviously been corked. She had two sips and opted for a beer. We had a few beers and decided to order the "fresh guacamole." It was in fact, not fresh and our chips were stale! We took two bites and sent it back. When we received our bill, the guac had not been taken off. When we asked the server, she said "they are really bad about that," and went to talk to the manager. She said the manager would not take it off our bill! We then asked to speak to the manager, who told us, because we ate two chips, they could not re-sell it, so we would have to pay for it. Obviously they should not re-sell it, gross! He then went on to say that he tried the chips and they were not stale, basically calling us liars. Why would we lie about stale chips!? This "fresh guacamole" was made 5 hours prior to us even arriving. Not so fresh. This policy is completely bogus-if they serve crap food, customers should be forced to pay for it? Was I just to eyeball the food and think it might be bad and send it back so maybe I could get my money back? He never once apologized and was outright rude about the whole situation. He was not professional in the slightest. Do not waste your money or time here, there are other places with the same great view. read more

For a seafood restaurant located on the water they sure did have a pretty miserable selection of actual seafood yet a plethora of chicken dishes, BBQ, & even a good ole fashion grilled cheese. We waited around Half an hour for crab dip a.k.a. cream cheese with burnt pita chips. We were not provided flatware, napkins, or refills of water without request & certainly no appetizer plates. Great food. Nice atmosphere. Horrible service. Our waitress wouldn't wipe down out table after it rained, ignored us the whole night, then it came to the specials. On Instagram it was posted by Back Deck that there was $2 fireball + $2 dollar tacos. The tacos were $2 and were great but I asked the waitress if fireball was $2. She said yes with the whole table hearing her as I ordered. I only ordered the fireball because it was $2 as fireball never ends well lol. Anyway, the check comes and she charges me $6 a shot. I ask why and she says "that was last week. I never said that". I ask for the manager and he takes her side because they had been hanging out inside ignoring us for the last half hour. I got charged the full price and a "sorry". So go for the tacos ok Tuesday. Expect crappy service. And remember, the customer is always wrong read more
