This spot is a hidden gem. Ambiance wise, it reminded us of the bagel shops back east. Upon entry the gentleman kinda gave us the heads up that it was cash only at the time because their system was down. We thankfully had some cash on hand to be able to partake in a yummy bagel. Lol. It was only 8:30a when we entered and WOW, there were only about a dozen of plain bagels left and ONE onion bagel. I'm personally really not a fan of plain bagels...like they are so...plain. lol so I opted for the onion bagel, toasted, with plain cream cheese to split. He toasted the bagel just enough where the outside layer has just enough crunch and the inside warm and chewy. My favorite part, he was SO generous with the cream cheese!!! :P that's how shops back home stuff their bagels and we miss that because out here, other places are so stingy with it. So, based on that, we will come back...next time much earlier AND bring more cash (just in case) so we can try more of his bagels and even flavored cream cheeses. xx read more

One of my friends (a native New Yorker) has been coming to The Bagel Man for YEARS! As in when there used to be an EOS next door. Make workout gains, then eat delicious gains with The Bagel Man. Anytime I've gone, I never have a chance to snap a pic of my breakfast because I'm generally too hungry to care (a rarity). The bagels are always fresh and he's got great options for a hearty breakfast sandwich or if you just need a face full of carbs... the bagels are HUGE! I'm a fan of the garlic or onion for a sandwich or a sweet blueberry bagel if going just for cream cheese or butter. Times are hard with rising costs, and I feel like I get good bang for my buck with Mr Bagel Man. In speaking with him, he's there just about everyday at 3am to provide us with homemade from-scratch deliciousness. With every bite, you'll taste The Bagel Man's love of his craft. The Bagel Man does it right! Looking for genuine boiled bagels? Got 'em! Nothing replaces the chewyness of a boiled bagel. I've tried baked bagels at other establishments before, but they just aren't the same. Their scrambled egg breakfast sandwich was delicious. I chose bacon as the "meat" which was crispy and piled high. The only drawback was that it was slightly greasy, but the flavor was definitely there. The Cinnamon Raisin bagel with butter was also good. It had a generous schmear of soft, creamy butter (maybe a bit too much). The butter had very little flavor and may have been unsalted. I wish The Bagel Man had greater availability in terms of hours , seating and flavors. They're open only five hours a day and closed entirely on Sundays. Also, the bagel flavor options are limited to start. On a 10:00am visit, most flavors (including Plain) were not available at all. There are no tables or chairs, so plan for take out only. All in all, The Bagel Man has great bagels and I look forward to visiting again. read more

At around 7am on a Monday there was a nice selection of bagels, and the offerings for breakfast sandwiches all looked very tempting. This place has been here much much longer than my knowledge. I used to work next door when it was a Greek restaurant and never had the pleasure of trying the place out because they're open 6-11 am and I didn't come into work until 11 am. The owner is very nice and the business has a very loyal customer base. I went in before close so there was only 3 different bagels to choose from! Gotta get there early to get all the flavors. Seems like they changed ownership. The quality is nowhere near what it used to be and they no longer have bacon or Taylor ham. A good bagel is supposed to have a nice chew to them, these bagels were cold and soft. I got the lox sandwich and was weirded out when I saw that the lox was chopped up into pieces instead of sliced - probably because they're using lower quality lox. I have very low expectations for the coffee at bagel spots, but this iced coffee was abysmal. Although a bit out of the way, I'll only be going to Bongiorno Bagels in Gilbert from now on. read more
