The Bagel Zone? Is that a veiled reference to The Twilight Zone? I ask only because on a recent early morning visit there on my way to court in Mt. Holly, there were a group of men gathered there at pushed together tables that seemed like they were from another planet. Men In Black kind of thing. They dispersed soon after I sat down with my bagel and coffee and opted to face them rather than the window behind me. Guess they didn't like the scrutiny. Anyway, this was my first visit there, and although the staff was friendly and the prices rock bottom, the primary product was only average. My Onion Bagel was richly sprinkled with Onion Flakes, but the texture of the bagel was more the consistency of dinner roll rather than a thick skin encasing a chewy but air-pocketed inner body. It was fresh and completely edible, but lacked the "bagelessence" I sought. Coffee was decent, and with change from a Lincoln, the price was certainly right. read more

I have to say - I drive OUT OF MY WAY to come here. I see some of these negative comments below and I can't believe what people are saying. The only negative I can say about this place is someone bought ALL the everything bagels this morning! I was not happy! This place has always been great and their bagels are AMAZING. It takes a long minute to get a sandwich but they are MADE TO ORDER. If you expect something to be fresh, you have to WAIT. Impatience and pickiness doesn't warrant a poor review. Not sure if the short cook knows how to cook. I wanted a sausage egg and cheese on a toasted plain bagel. No salt and pepper on the egg. Eggs was semi runny (eggs should be fried well on a breakfast sandwich), sausage seemed like it was microwaved, I wonder if the eggs were microwaved too lol smh. And the bagel wasn't even toasted! The staff at the bagel zone is very friendly and the bagels are made fresh every morning. I frequent the bagel zone several times a month. They have also been rated top NJ for bagels. I highly recommend ordering food from bagel zone. Next time I go I will post a picture. read more

As a Long Island NY guy, I know bagels. These are the real deal. Their cheese selections are nice too. I got the lox spread and an everything toasted. It was a long wait, and not a lot of people. I felt like they were in the weeds the whole time but it was worth it. Order ahead if you're in a hurry. Otherwise they take your order make your order then call next on line. I don't know any other bagel places around here but I don't need to. This one hits all the high notes for me. read more

I've been coming to this bagel shop for about 7 months now and the experience is always great. Polite staff, fresh bagels they make a helluva bacon egg and cheese. I definitely recommend this location as a good place is an impossible find (Victoria's in mt laurel is the only other good spot). If you're local this is the place, look no further. read more

Who does not take debit/credit card??? We are practically in 2015!!! I ordered a bagel and egg sandwich and I asked her to put salt and pepper on it, because they don't have turkey bacon (who doesn't have that). When I arrived, I gave her my card and she said, 'oh no, we don't take credit cards' and then she pointed to the ATM machine by the window. I had a credit card and not my debit card with me. Instead of charging folks $3.00 to take out money, just get in 2014 and get a POS system designed to take credit cards and allow your customers to pay that way. A lot of folks don't carry cash anymore. I've been to farmers' markets where the vendors accept credit cards. Here is a suggestion: go to www.square.com and get their product, it's a POS system and it's fantastic They're only 2.75% per transaction. No monthly fees, I use them and they're great. Your customers deserve better, way better. read more

Best place to get bagels in Burlington county. Been going for years....I don't live in Nj but when I visit I always come to get bagels here. Today was a very busy day with possibly only two guys working. I had a big order so I knew I would probably have to wait a little. First impression: this place is spotless. Great bagel sandwich, I ordered egg salad on toasted marble bagel with lettuce, tomato, onion. It was amazing. Next visit ordered a sesame bagel toasted with cream cheese, really made me wonder why I've been stopping at Dunkin' Donuts all this time. I just stood outside of this place for ten minutes in 29 degree weather while the woman behind the counter (on the phone) looked at me and then hid behind the counter, looking away. It is 6:15, and they claim to open at 6. She didn't open the door for me, explain why they weren't open yet, or offer any acknowledgment at all. Now, at 6:20, the door has finally been unlocked and I come in to no greeting or eye contact at all. I was coldly asked "what do you need" to which I gave my order. The food was fine, nothing wrong there, but the service was awful. I won't be coming back again. read more

But whether you get them toasted or cut in half all depends... They do have an ATM machine in the shop, so if you don't have the cash on you, you can always do the ATM withdrawal (with the high ATM fees that go with that). read more

They have the worst service and the food is mediocre. The will take an order at a time, make it, and allow for everyone else in the store to stand around until they are finished for their order to be taken. I walked into the store and ordered 12 bagels, which is posted as a special. The counter person who took my order asked a person at the grill, who I later identified as the OWNER, if she could sell me a dozen everything bagels. He then proceeded to say it was okay, but began cursing and stated that I ruined his day. He told the counter person that if another person came in and asked for a dozen everything bagels they would have to wait until he made them again. I've lived in the area for years and used to frequent this place despite being cash only and generally poor service, which has only gotten worse over the years. The past few times I've been there they seem unable to get an order correct, ie not toasting, or when ordering two bagels with different flavored cream cheeses, they switch them up etc. Today I finally had it, we were served stale bagels at 9:30am which means I guess yesterday's bagels. Sorry that's one too far, bare minimum for a bagel place is a fresh bagel. Over priced sandwiches .. didn't accept credit card until a year ago.. ( $10 minimum...which is lame) they always close early. Sloppy paint job on the walls.That mixed with hand written signs..doesn't make an Inviting place to eat. I once saw the owner or some guy walk from outside use his bare hands reach inside the bagel bins and fill up bags... yuck!! The place is consistently dirty.. check out the return air ducts next time you go.. or don't go because this place doesn't deserve any business. I called 3 times because at first I wasn't sure if my phone was going through and a guy picks up like "jesus christ i'm trying to work the oven like if I can't answer the phone stop calling" "I saw the same number over and over i'm assuming it's got to be big so what can I get you". Over the past couple months I've ventured away from an everything bagel w/ scallion cream cheese. Though good, I had to try other things. I've tried a chocolate croissant - pretty good, crisp, flaky outside w/ sweet, smooth chocolate inside. I've also tried a sausage, egg & cheese breakfast sandwich on of course....an everything bagel. The sandwiches are well made and very delicious. Bagel Zone has become part of my morning ritual. read more

Bagel Zone is now one of my new favorites . It is across the street in a plaza from Good Year Tire. They have a wide spread of bagels from Jalapeño, sun dry tomato, french toast ect. I had a pork roll, egg, and cheese on a sun dry tomato and its soooo good !! They were running a breakfast special, which I'm assuming is a regular thing . For $5.99 you can get a breakfast sandwich, small coffee, and orange juice . And the best part, they cook their egg and pork roll all on a stove top. A lot of the bagel shops I've been to will put it in the microwave, so bagel zone gets brownie points for this one . They have seatings as well and the staff will bring you your food when ready.
