Nice chill place to grab a coffee, hot tea, or a hot chocolate at the end of the strip. There's a bunch of tables outside and one small table and some additional seating in another room. Service is super friendly. Fun fact, spoke to the owner, and this house converted to a business the oldest house in Julian at a 100+ years old.

    Hot chocolate!

3 starts only because I've never actually been in here yet. Had a hard time finding this place on yelp because the business name is misspelled. Correct spelling is Bailey House

When we saw the Julian Beer Company, we couldn't help but be drawn in for a drink and food! Before ordering, we had used their restroom which is located inside the coffee shop; super cute aesthetic! We went inside, not the first building, but the second building. We had grabbed a menu at the front and looked at what we'd like. We had chosen a few items and waited at the bar area. The man working there wasn't pleasant. Unfortunately, we didn't feel welcomed. He was short with us, stared blankly, and didn't say a lot. There wasn't a greeting nor a nice transaction, since words weren't really exchanged. When we ordered, he didn't respond and there were long pauses. We felt quite judged and confused. We ordered anyway, and took a seat outside. We had ordered their IPA and their Japanese lager. For food, we ordered their cheesesteak, extra rolls, coleslaw, and their sausage. Their sausage was fantastic!! I loved every bite. Th with cheesesteak was also good and had a generous amount of cheese on top. Their beers nicely washed down the food on a warm day. After eating, we decided to waltz into the first building to look at their merchandise. Inside, a different man had greeted us with the biggest smile! He asked if we needed help, and gave us free stickers. He was very kind and made our day! I truly liked the city, beer, place, food, and the service that kind man had given to us. If we didn't have that interaction full of judgement, this place would be beyond five stars! Hoping it will be magnificent next time.

Thank you Moms! Love, Moms Pie Every time I stop by Moms, I am in heaven over the taste consistency and beauty over everything they bake, the vibe is simple and friendly, I enjoy sitting there and listening to the PCT hikers talk story, customers staring at everything on display and the friendliness of the staff. Now let me be honest, I have tried pies from other shops in Julian ,and there is huge difference, take note , on my recent visit, I bought a pie from Moms and a pie from, let's just say at the place on the corner of HWY 78 & 79 and hands down Moms was was the best! Check it out. Got home , and we cut each pie, and 5 minutes later, and the

Mom's Pie House was our last visit for the evening and of course, we had dessert last night. We had ordered their flaky apple pie with vanilla ice cream on top. I had also ordered two of their gingersnap cookies. I thought their pies were decent; it came out warmed up and had fresh apples in it. What truly stole the show was those fantastic gingersnap cookies. I can still taste them right now and feel the chewiness between each bite. Instead of dreaming of their pies, I will definitely be imaging their gingersnaps. Their inside was decorated and there were several tables to sit at to enjoy your dessert. It was clean inside, but quite sticky on the table surfaces. There were a lot of young workers and they were very efficient with their time. I'd recommend a stop if you're in Julian!

This has become a go-to spot post-hike in the area and always is the treat I look forward to. On my most recent visit I had the BLT which had avocado, an egg, and chipotle mayo on brioche - hit the spot. Each sandwich comes on a different type of bread, which adds to the flavor profiles for each. Sometimes places just put it all on wheat or sourdough, but I like how the bread is paired to add to the sandwich. There's seating inside and out and always plenty of parking, though I can imagine on the weekend, it's more competitive. Although the spot has been around for a while, I just recently got introduced to it on enthusiastic recommendations from others, so I pass that enthusiastic recommendations onto you.

Maggie misses the fresh baked fruit bars and were soft and full of sweet fruit flavor.  Cashier told us they are only baked on Saturday now.  We touched the fruit bars and they were all hard from sitting around half the week.  It's sad as we loved stopping here after a trip to Julian for fresh baked treats and Doc Brown's Root Beer.  Looks like we will have to buy all our baked treats at one of the Julian bakeries like Apple Alley that bakes their pies every morning.  https://www.hungryones.com/2021/10/apple-alley-bakery/ Staff was nice and efficient.
