Great ambience and good service, but the coffee is not good. I got an iced latte for $8.12 and the high price did not match the quality, unfortunately. I tried to ignore it but couldn't even finish more than a quarter of the drink.

Julian…read morePie Company has so many different things to offer, you will definitely find something you absolutely need! We already got our pie fix at Mom's, but made this our last stop before heading out. It was so cold out, a super chilly day, there's nothing more perfect than to grab a hot cup of steaming Apple Cider! It hit the spot! I couldn't stop just standing there sipping my hot cider while waiting for our to go items to be prepared. We got two apple cider donuts, one cinnamon sugar and one chocolate dipped. Long ago, I tried these tiny heart shaped pie crust cookies covered in cinnamon and sugar - Apple Memories! These are crisp tiny bites of love that you want to take home every single time! There are actually two buildings. One where you can grab a bite to eat, the other has all the merchandise, and both have whole frozen pies to grab to go! The building where you can dine has a small inside dining area, it can get cozy in there, but on a chilly day, that is exactly what you want! Just outside there is plenty of room outdoors to enjoy the scenery. In the merchandise building I couldn't help myself... we took home a whole gallon of apple cider, and also bought a jar of Cinnamon Apple Honey Spread and a jar of Apple butter... absolute yum! The hubs also decided to try the apple cinnamon chapstick! Yes, you can grab one of these famous pies at many different establishments throughout San Diego. To make name a few, Iowa Farms, Spring Valley Market, Siesel's and even at Vons! But if you're in Julian, don't forget to try a pie, grab some Apple Memories, and don't forget to bring a hot thermos to take that hot Apple cider to go! Enjoy!!! Simply the Best! Had the Dutch Apple pie, because I wanted something sweeter. It was very good, and served slightly warm. The crumbles on top added the bit of crunch with the soft gooeyness of the apple pie filling, The small scoop of ice cream covered it all, but I had to scoop the ice cream off to eat the pie.

Just about every table was occupied, but the servers were efficient and certainly friendly. My order was the Cafe Hamburger ($16.95) which came with a huge portion of French fries, and slices of pickle, onion and tomato. I requested mayo to complement the house-made ketchup. The patty was thick, done medium well, and very tasty, clamped by a very fresh bun. Tammy was the server, and despite being quite busy, checked in once or twice. A great burger and great service.

That said, I do want to clarify that, from what I observed, we were not the last table to be seated. I understand it was a busy Fourth of July, and I know everyone can make mistakes. My disappointment wasn't because of the wait alone--it was because my order was incorrect multiple times, and I was eventually asked again what I had ordered even though it was just biscuits and gravy. By the time my food finally arrived, the experience had already been affected. I don't expect perfection, especially on a busy holiday. I simply shared my honest experience and hope it helps improve service for future guests. -------------------- We ordered our food and my friend received her meal, but my order of biscuits and gravy didn't come out correctly. The server acknowledged the mistake, saying it was her fault and that she would get it fixed right away. Unfortunately, the wrong order was brought out, and the staff had to come back and ask what I had originally ordered. It was a simple order--just biscuits and gravy--so it was frustrating that it was difficult to get right. When the correct food finally arrived, the experience had already been delayed and a bit discouraging. At that point, I was honestly just over it, especially when I was asked if I wanted a box, as if we were finished. Overall, the food was fine once it arrived, but the service experience that day was disorganized and left a negative impression.

When we saw the Julian Beer Company, we couldn't help but be drawn in for a drink and food! Before ordering, we had used their restroom which is located inside the coffee shop; super cute aesthetic! We went inside, not the first building, but the second building. We had grabbed a menu at the front and looked at what we'd like. We had chosen a few items and waited at the bar area. The man working there wasn't pleasant. Unfortunately, we didn't feel welcomed. He was short with us, stared blankly, and didn't say a lot. There wasn't a greeting nor a nice transaction, since words weren't really exchanged. When we ordered, he didn't respond and there were long pauses. We felt quite judged and confused. We ordered anyway, and took a seat outside. We had ordered their IPA and their Japanese lager. For food, we ordered their cheesesteak, extra rolls, coleslaw, and their sausage. Their sausage was fantastic!! I loved every bite. Th with cheesesteak was also good and had a generous amount of cheese on top. Their beers nicely washed down the food on a warm day. After eating, we decided to waltz into the first building to look at their merchandise. Inside, a different man had greeted us with the biggest smile! He asked if we needed help, and gave us free stickers. He was very kind and made our day! I truly liked the city, beer, place, food, and the service that kind man had given to us. If we didn't have that interaction full of judgement, this place would be beyond five stars! Hoping it will be magnificent next time.

Mom's Pie House was our last visit for the evening and of course, we had dessert last night. We had ordered their flaky apple pie with vanilla ice cream on top. I had also ordered two of their gingersnap cookies. I thought their pies were decent; it came out warmed up and had fresh apples in it. What truly stole the show was those fantastic gingersnap cookies. I can still taste them right now and feel the chewiness between each bite. Instead of dreaming of their pies, I will definitely be imaging their gingersnaps. Their inside was decorated and there were several tables to sit at to enjoy your dessert. It was clean inside, but quite sticky on the table surfaces. There were a lot of young workers and they were very efficient with their time. I'd recommend a stop if you're in Julian!

This has become a go-to spot post-hike in the area and always is the treat I look forward to. On my most recent visit I had the BLT which had avocado, an egg, and chipotle mayo on brioche - hit the spot. Each sandwich comes on a different type of bread, which adds to the flavor profiles for each. Sometimes places just put it all on wheat or sourdough, but I like how the bread is paired to add to the sandwich. There's seating inside and out and always plenty of parking, though I can imagine on the weekend, it's more competitive. Although the spot has been around for a while, I just recently got introduced to it on enthusiastic recommendations from others, so I pass that enthusiastic recommendations onto you.

Maggie misses the fresh baked fruit bars and were soft and full of sweet fruit flavor.  Cashier told us they are only baked on Saturday now.  We touched the fruit bars and they were all hard from sitting around half the week.  It's sad as we loved stopping here after a trip to Julian for fresh baked treats and Doc Brown's Root Beer.  Looks like we will have to buy all our baked treats at one of the Julian bakeries like Apple Alley that bakes their pies every morning.  https://www.hungryones.com/2021/10/apple-alley-bakery/ Staff was nice and efficient.
