As a new customer, how was I supposed to know I needed to enter my phone number before paying? She never asked or gave me the option, so I missed the points for today's purchase. I loved the cake I bought yesterday and came back because of it, but today's customer service was very disappointing. A simple question like, "Are you a rewards member?" would have avoided the whole situation.

I was disappointed with my experience. During the initial inquiry process, the $8-per-slice pricing was not disclosed until after I had already expressed that I wanted to place an order. They said 3 tier 6, 8, 10, cake starts at $518 and an extra $70 for vintage style in the inquiry. After i went cake tasting and trying to place an order the owner told me my cake would cost $1015 for a 8,10,12 and she mentioned because of the $8 per slice for 120 guests. How does that make sense. I would have appreciated having all pricing information upfront. I also scheduled a cake tasting, but the owner did not attend because I did not send a "see you there" email beforehand. I was under the impression that the appointment was already scheduled and confirmed. If additional confirmation was required, I believe the owner should have reached out to verify the appointment rather than assuming it was canceled. I ultimately decided to go with another bakery due to ongoing communication issues throughout the ordering process. After discussing my wedding cake and expressing that I wanted to move forward, I was told I would receive a call to collect payment and formally place the order. The owner then went on vacation, and I waited for that call, but it never came. A week passed without any follow-up from her. Then I received an email that she needs to call me, and asked for my number again. So this whole time she didn't even have my number saved when I already emailed it to her and I even texted it to her through her employee's phone in the cake shop when I was at the tasting. I told her I moved on with another bakery and her response came off bitchy. How she waited for me and I delayed the payment.. girl that was you, you don't even have my number saved. She even said she cancelled my order.. an order was never placed because she never called me.. The owner seems to be on vacation a lot, I was nice and patient and giving her the benefit of the doubt but if you have a bad feeling don't move forward because it's not worth the stress. To sum it up don't go to this baker for customs, weddings, etc. I should've looked at her reviews and looks like a lot of people had bad experiences with her.

She said it tasted gritty almost like they used shortening instead of real butter. I got a salted caramel cupcake and the frosting was overly sweet, but I enjoyed it and thought the cake was perfectly moist. The store was empty and clean when we arrived and the woman at the counter served us quickly and efficiently. If we need cupcakes in a pinch we could come here, but there are a lot more delicious cupcakes between this restaurant and where we live.

When I went there in the afternoon, I could see they had sold out of a lot of things but there were just a few options: cookies, some savory breads, a sweet bread loaf. I purchased the cinnamon swirl bread loaf for $7 which is pricier than the grocery store but cheaper than some artisan bakers at the farmer's market. They also offer coffee and tea drinks at a reasonable price, and whole pies and cakes to order (if I remember correctly). When I got home and tried the bread, I was floored with how good it was. The sweetness and firmness of the bread was just perfect to me. The outer crust is a beautiful brown and just thick enough to provide a little texture and flavor. The swirl is done well - there are no big pockets in the bread. The crumb is compact but not dense. It is easy to slice and enjoyable toasted or as is. I ate it alone, with nut butter, with jam. It would be wonderful as french toast. I dream about the bread and wish I lived closer to purchase it once a week. I also got a gingerbread man cookie which was perfectly seasoned and not dry. Note that the customer area in the front is kind of small so this place is mostly for take-out. I'd like to come back and try more things to see how well they do their other baked goods.

My bf loved the cinnamon rolls; he loved it so much, he didn't even share, didn't think of saving me a taste, a bite from the four or five cinnamon rolls he ate all himself. And we went back for more, and luckily we got there in time for their last thing of cinnamon rolls. And I decided to try their Jalapeño Bread, which was good. The staff at the stand were really friendly. We decided to take at least a week break from the Issaquah Farmers Market, because we've been overdoing it on the pastries, but I'm sure we'll be back soon, or at least checkout their shop.
