Black Sea Salt Bagel with Avocado and Egg
    Hailey T.

Got a Black Sea Salt bagel with avocado and egg. Came out quick and was reasonably priced. The bagel has a great taste, but was a bit firm. The avocado kept falling out of the bagel, but overall it was a decent bagel for a quick, satisfying bite.

Drawn-in by their $4 anniversary special which was your choice of any bagel with egg and cheese. French toast bagel was on point and I added a side of cannoli cream cheese. That stuff is amazing!!!! Hubs added sausage to his breakfast sandwich and the patties were nice sized and flavorful. Also ordered a sticky bun and it was delicious! Service was nice and helpful! Lots of delicious looking treats and can't wait to come back to try more. There is no seating inside but lots of tables outside.

I have been wanting to try this place for awhile and SO glad I finally got to! My family shared a few things. The bagels were perfection- light and fluffy. The sticky bun was amazing! The cream cheese frosting is one of a kind. Our favorite was the banana pudding blondie. Deff will be stopping our next time in town!

Burnt under the topping, undercooked dough inside. Bakers dark chocolate was an ungodly amount that made it impossible to eat.

We have been coming here since it opened. To say the service and food have gone downhill is an understatement. Not to mention the cost of food. Sure I get the cost of inflation but two bagels and a croissant shouldn't add up to $35. Bagels $3.00 each -$6.00 Cream cheese $2.00 on each $4.00 Proteins $3.00 x 3 two on one bagel and 1 on the other. $9.00 Egg $2.00 on each $4.00 Croissant $6.00 $29.00 before taxes Not to mention that we were charged for a sausage patty when they were in fact out. Didn't get a refund nope. Staff is unfriendly, unfamiliar with what items that actually have and don't. Not to mention how slow they are. They aren't under staffed if anything they are over staffed with people just lallygagging about. We got a S'more's croissant that had an ungodly amount of bakers dark chocolate inside that made it undeniably terrible to even eat. The center was still pure dough. We said this last visit that we thought we were done eating here and today this visit solidified our decision. We definitely don't recommend this establishment. We ant even say their coffee is good. It's more bitter and acidic than Starbucks which is saying something.

I really WANT to like the Bake Shop. I do. But the quality just keeps going downhill. The prices have always been high, but this is a wealthy tourist town, so I get that. There aren't really many other options in the area, so there's no competition. I get that. The menu has changed for the worse, getting more expensive in the process. The last time that my wife ordered a bagel and cream cheese, there was only enough cream cheese to cover half of one side. That's a quarter of the bagel. There literally was not enough to smear and cover half of the bagel. Today, I ordered a "Big Bird Baguette " sandwich. On the 10" baguette, it had: two 2" round slices of cheese, two 2" round slices of sundried tomatoes, about a tablespoon of basil spread, and four slices of low-quality chicken. It's absurd. This is NOT a $12 sandwich! This is on the level of something you might find in a vending machine in a hospital cafe. The service is usually quite prompt and friendly. The location is easily accessible, which is great. But the food quality just keeps going downhill.

Needed a quick solution to feed a bunch of people from CA, TX and NC all with different taste. The Bake Shop was a perfect solution. From the savory ham and cheese scone to the deliciously sweet sticky bun, the Bake Shop had a flavor for all taste. The coffee was also great. It was busy and is small but being patient is worth it.

I've been wanting to check The Bake shop out forever. They are always so busy during the W&M school year. So lucky me to catch them after school was out and even score parking up front, The location is just blocks from W&M campus. Parking is 10 minutes in front which can be adequate for pick up, nearby is an hour if eating on the patio, The place is a small walk in. Grab and go beverages and order at the counter. Menus are on the island as you walk in. The bottle drinks were luke warm on a very hot Williamsburg day. It was hard to not be tempted by their pastries, but I showed restraint. The staff was super friendly and helped a first timer decide on a bagel sandwich and drink. Price is fair these days and can tip on the machine. My salmon on everything was delightful. I paired with a bourbon (non alcoholic) ice latte which was super yum! Enjoyed on their patio under and umbrella. Only drawback is everything is grab and go or patio. Will love to come back.

What a radical little bake shop that has so many delicious goodies that you really can't pick just one. We had one of the breakfast sandwiches which I believe it was made with chicken sausage I don't remember really too much from my visit here this day as it was all kinda a blur of an adventure. Like we got here when they opened and there was a line to get in but it moved quickly so that was radical and then the bread we got was really yummy too and something else that I really can't remember but it was awesome too! Yeah this review really doesn't say much just go here it's what's good it's small local and has just everything of what's good even for those who are still up from the previous night!

    Any gluten free choices?

TBH that’s a toughie for food unless you forgo the bread! Occasionally we will have a gluten-free pastry, but unless you order something breadless, we unfortunately don’t have a big demand for gluten-free.

The ambiance is like a dim lighted factory. It's connected to a few other eateries and brewery with restrooms in the lobby of all facilities. Ordered the pretzel bites with a beer cheese. These were good in the sense of being soft, chewy dough balls to dip in cheese. I don't believe they tasted like pretzels at all. They tasted more like the pizza dough, but still a good appetizer. Ordered a pepperoni pizza. Dough was fluffy and airy. It seemed a bit over proofed. The pepperoni overcrowded the top and made for a very greasy topping. Sauce is sweeter than my liking. The taste was similar to a commercial chain pizza so younger children tend to love that. Overall, an interesting setting. We left with full bellies and prices were reasonable.

The local chain offers various pzizza, subs, appetizers and wings, salads, desserts, and even GF options.  I am totally OBSESSED with their Cheesebread - it's their famous pizza crust, baked with garlic butter and cheese - think of it like cheesy garlic bread, but in a round pizza form; it is served with marinara and Chanello's dip, but I recommend in getting their garlic dip instead! The Cheesebread can get a little greasy from the cheese, but it's all good!  It is definitely super cheesy, and the crust is so soft and fluffy; it has that nice slight crisp exterior, too!  The thick and creamy garlic dip is such a great complement.  My mouth is literally drooling just thinking of it! Service here can be a hit-or-miss - some of the employees can be super stingy with the sauces and the dips, even after you have paid extra for them! Also, it should be made clear of how many sauces/dips you would get with each size of the pizza or the cheesebread.
