Before I give my reason for a low rating, I want to give context. My family and I have been going here since this place opened. We have recommended this place to a number of people looking for fun things to do in Georgetown. Unfortunately, I will not be recommending this place to anyone anytime soon. So let's go ahead and explain why. So my mom and dad were visiting Georgetown for my niece's softball tournament. My husband and I took them to dinner on the square and decided to treat them to ice cream. Now we had a number of choices, including a new place that opened up since we had last been to Georgetown a few months ago. We chose to stick to something we knew was good with what we thought was customer service. Oops, we messed up with this one. We walked in and weren't even greeted or acknowledged, even though 4 of them were standing around doing nothing. Since my parents had never been there before it took us awhile to figure out what we wanted, and being that my parents are elderly, we also had to explain the cookie ice cream concept to them. I use to work customer service jobs, and this is where I would probably jump in and ask if anyone needed help by explaining the customers's options. Not these apathetic teens. They couldn't be bothered. If anything they looked out out that they had to wait for my elderly parents to make a decision, even though we had no one waiting behind us. So sorry we held them up from doing more of nothing. Once we decided, we started weaving ourselves through the line with our decisions. We ended up ordering 3 scoops of ice cream and I got some cookies. When we got to the scooping ice cream part, the workers kept passing off the task to each other. All we needed was our last scoop of ice cream, but they acted like they had to dismantle a bomb. It was so chaotic the customers who were behind us were confused about whether or not we were in line to pay, get mix-ins for ice cream, or just standing around. Needless to say the poor customer service left such a bad taste in my mouth that the ice cream didn't even taste good anymore. So will I return? Probably not anytime soon. I may actually try the new place on the square instead, and hope their customer service is better. The other place must be doing something right, because they had customers streaming out with huge smiles on their faces, unlike our group. Stay tuned! read more

We were within 40 minutes of closing and I was pleasantly pleased that they still had a decent offering of cookies. I even saw some fresh ones being put out. I think the cookie and ice cream selection can appeal to a large crowd, from young to old. I love all things coffee so the espresso bean was my go to. As for the cookies, I had to mix it up, which is totally allowed! One was the cookies and cream and the other was the Cookie Monster (nice and blue for the kiddos). Everything was great. It was definitely way too much sugar for one sitting, but for once in a while, it's worth it. You also get what you pay for - about $7 for a big sandwich. My 2 year old son and I went today to, The Baked Bear. There were 3 families waiting when they opened. We walked in and were so excited. This was a treat/celebration because my son turned two. We ordered 3 Cookie Monster cookies, and 3 funfeti cookies. They were amazing. The only downside was that the customer service we awful. The person helping us was just so rude and pushy. Dropped in here after some wine tasting! Fun tip: grape creek winery has a great wine (rendezvous) pairs really well with the berry crumble flavor but with ice cream in general! We tried the mint chip, berry crumble, peanut butter pretzel, and a few others i can't remember! However they were all delicious!
