So, I was super excited to see some diversity in option come to my-pizza-restaurant-row and after trying The Bangkok for dinner, I'm delighted! The service is quick and they're super nice. And the food is delicious. (And the Thai Ice Tea is fantastic!) Also, if you remember this place from when it was the Chinese takeout place, you should really stop by. Very quaint place. Atmosphere is very calming. The food is fantastic. So much flavor in each dish. My least favorite out of everything were ordered was the crispy rolls. We got the spicy Basil Pad Thai, and the Bun Bo Hue (pho). The Pho was by far my favorite. Amazing, fresh flavor with huge servings. Just moved into Melrose and this was my 1st attempt to find a good Thai option. I did takeout. The order was ready in a snap, and the main entree was 'decent,' I wouldn't go so far as to say I'd return based on it. But the real problem was with the jasmine rice. It was jelled up, about 1/5 of a small sandwich bag (which was also weird to sere rice in a baggie), and congealed like a big gumdrop. AWUL. How could they literally put this in anyone's order??? You'd have to handle it and there's no way you're unaware that you're serving this inedible product to your customer. or the cost o the little bit o rice, WHY would they give this to a customer!? And it doesn't come with the entree, which is no big deal, but $2 and I could not even eat the entree over the glueball they served me. And I tipped them which I regretted as soon as I got home. Why didn't I think to take a photo before tossing it - it was a tragic thing to behold. A thai restaurant that screws up rice and still charges you too. What else are they serving I wonder, if they won't throw a little rice away and replace it? I'm cruising to Wakefield where there appears to be 2 decently rated Thai restaurants, and will get a similar dish, hopefully with actual rice, and will enjoy tonight's meal. Although the restaurant is small, it feels very homey. I loveeee the interior of this place - very aesthetic. Each seat has a cute pillow which I thought is pretty cool. I've been here twice so far and it's my favorite go-to place now. The food is delicious and reasonably price. I recommend getting the Roti Curry Sauce which is a fried scallion pancake with green curry sauce. Crunchy with a hint of spice from the curry sauce! The Pad Tai with chicken is good as well. Friendly staff, especially the guy at the counter who is always smiling. You can tell that this place is very popular when there's constantly people coming in to pick up their take-out. There aren't many tables to sit at and eat. If you want a table, I recommend coming early as it gets very busy! read more

Fantastic Thai and Vietnamese food, the chicken in the Pho Ga was soft and perfectly cooked. The freshness in all the dishes was apparent from what my friends ordered. The restaurant itself was very clean and, although small, had a lovely ambience. read more

Ordered the stew beef noodle soup delivery for lunch. The portion was pretty good with lots of beef in it. The beef was quite soft but a bit too lean (it's soft because it has been stewed long enough but too lean makes it a bit chewy) The flavor is pretty good though. Might try other dishes from this place in future. read more

I changed the 5 start review I had originally had for a 3 star because my last two times ordering pho from there have been very disappointing. The pho was not tasteful and they became very stingy with the meats. My girl ordered the vegetarian pho and she felt very let down as well. I will prob not be giving them any more chances. Sad. I love the atmosphere of this restaurant, from the choice of colors to the design and the music. This place offers a very comforting environment for a dine in. The food is exceptional. While I'm not a food critic of any kind, their food tastes very authentic with very pleasant presentation. Their Viet food reminds me of Vietnam and the Tom yum fried rice and Khao Soi that I had really reminds me of my visit to Thailand. Totally recommended!! read more

Finally Delicious Pho in Melrose! We came here during their inaugural week so it didn't bother me that things were a little slow. But the man and woman working were super nice and the food was fresh and delicious. My daughters ordered the Bun (vermicelli noodle bowl) with shrimp and the Pho Ga (chicken). Both were the perfect serving size with very fresh ingredients. Husband ordered the spicy ground chicken dish which was one of the better ones we have had around this area. I was so excited to see Pad Woon Sen on the menu. It is my favorite Thai noodle dish but not easily found. Veggies were cooked perfectly- nice and crisp. My only negative and why I can't do 5 stars: There was something funky going on with the water glasses or the water. Kind of a fishy smell. Once that is resolved my review will go up to 5 stars! I got the Gyoza which were okay. The drunken noodles were very good and very spicy. I also got the soup hanh Thanh which I did not enjoy at all. The dumplings weren't tasty and the broth is somewhat sweet. read more

I was craving pho on a cold weekend and quickly found this place. Since I had time, I decided to sit and eat-in. Luckily there was an open table as there are only four in the entire restaurant. Service was prompt and efficient. Ended up trying the drunken noodles which were fantastic. I'm definitely going back to try other items on their menu but won't count on a table always being available. read more

Best pad Thai we've ever gotten, hands down! Normally I expect pad Thai to at least be someone greasy, but both dinners (we had spicy basil and regular) were impeccable and not the slightest bit greasy. Not only that; they actually followed the instructions asked on our Uber Eats order (they were minor, for extra ground peanuts and basil , but still!!) Couldn't recommend this place more and SO glad we came across it on Uber Eats! Also super impressed with how quickly it got here! We will be regulars for sure! read more

In on the first week open. They literally had only been open for 5 days when we went. The food was mostly delicious. The graprao chicken is very good and the portion is huge. Roti curry app is amazing and delicious. The gyoza were good but came out only luke warm. The chicken satay app was inconsistent. Two skewers were ok but two were cold and tough. My companion had tom yum noodle soup and said it was delicious. That came out piping hot as did the gra prao. The dine-in experience was a little rough. They only have four small tables and seemingly no bathroom. I highly recommend for take out. read more

I have been trying to get to the Bangkok for take out but have not had the chance until tonight (between procrastinating and trying not to eat fast food). I live in Melrose and drive by almost everyday. I ordered chicken satay, crispy rolls and spicy basil pad Thai with shrimp. Although the chicken was on the dry side, my overall experience exceeded my expectations, the food was indeed delicious and I will definitely order again to try other menu items. My food was ready when I arrived and I was concerned that it might not be warm, it was still very warm. The small place is clean and the staff is warm and welcoming. read more

We loved this place. The space is small, calm, and comfy. We started with crab rangoon and grilled calamari. The crab rangoon may have been the best we've ever had; so delicious! Sadly, the squid was tough and chewy with little flavor. My husband got a bowl (I'm not sure what it was called) with veggies and beef. It was very flavorful and he loved it. I got a simple broth, which could have had more flavor, with tofu and veggies. The tofu was perfect; creamy and tasty. All the ingredients were very fresh. I want to give this place a 5 but the squid makes me hold out for the perfection a 5 requires. However, I'm sure we'll go back and I do recommend giving it a try. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area especially when I'm craving Thai food. The restaurant also has Vietnamese food but I like their Thai dishes better. A few dishes I often get are the curry puff appetizer, mango fried rice with crispy chicken, Indo fried rice, and pad thai. In particular, I like that their dishes are flavorful and not too greasy. It's a smaller restaurant so it fills up quickly and it's often easier to order takeout. read more

Tried this place for the first time for takeout. I judge a Thai restaurant by the pad Thai. If it's on the menu it should be made right. What we got was dry noodles with no flavor and the unpleasant scent of fish sauce dominant in the aroma. No cilantro but they threw in lime wedge. I got the Khao Soi, and it was basically the most fantasic Khao Soi I've ever had. Delicious broth, plenty of greens and pickled bits, lots of noodles, a chicken leg whose meat came right off the bone. All with quick service and a decent price. I only wish there had been more soup! read more
