We have been to Waymaker about 10 times now, but our recent visit today on a Friday evening was by…read morefar our best experience here, thanks to Caden (hopefully I spelled his name right). Caden greeted us with great hospitality, made sure we were settled in before we golfed, and continued to check on us and help us. I would definitely want to continue coming to Waymaker as long as he is there - our other experiences were not nearly as good without him. Previously, others would not be quick to greet us (we waited nearly 15 minutes once just to get checked in due to the front desk person on their phone at the bar, not even knowing they were a worker). Golf simulator was fun, with plenty of options, such as range, courses, and games. Plenty of selections for drinks as well, including beer, wine, and mixed drinks. We love the sushi and other food options as well. They occasionally have live music and play various sporting events, which helps with them being kid friendly (we bring our 2 year old). Caden was kind, patient and offered a great welcoming vibe.

They closed the taps 20 minutes early because they wanted to leave early even though we were willing to purchase a second drink per person. Kitchen was already closed 30 minutes before closing. There was probably 15-20 people still in the restaurant. Hopefully it isn't a regular practice. *update as I can't respond to question...we were there on 5/21/2026

When the waiter brought my drink, I immediately noticed it didn't look like a traditional Piña Colada, and after tasting it, I confirmed it certainly didn't taste like one either. I politely asked if I could exchange it for a different drink. The waiter returned and said the manager wouldn't allow an exchange but would offer me 50% off instead. I explained that I wasn't happy with the drink and simply wanted to order something else. The manager came over and explained that the menu includes a disclaimer stating the cocktails are made with soju instead of the traditional liquor. In my opinion, the waiter should have mentioned that when I ordered, especially since it significantly changes the flavor. I hadn't noticed the disclaimer--I simply ordered what I thought would be a classic Piña Colada. Unfortunately, I was still charged half the price for a drink I didn't enjoy and wasn't allowed to order a replacement. The manager emphasized that it was too expensive for the restaurant to remake drinks, which I found disappointing. I've never had an experience like this at any other restaurant. On a positive note, I ordered the Reuben sandwich with fries, and it was delicious. That was the highlight of the meal. However, the service was also lacking. Our waiter was slow and couldn't answer several of our questions without repeatedly leaving to ask someone else. Because of the poor customer service and how the drink situation was handled, I won't be returning.

Lisa Ford, the co-owner, went above and beyond in every possible way. She designed a menu within our budget, created a customized bar menu, and she and her amazing team decorated, cooked, served, and made the patio feel warm, beautiful, and welcoming. They truly handled everything with such care and excellence. We were able to play our own customized Spotify playlist on the back patio for a fun Yacht Rock Friday night feeling, and their IT/AV support, Randy, helped us play a personalized video of the couple on the patio TV throughout the evening. It made the night feel even more personal and special. The food was truly the chef's kiss, the beer by Brian Ford, co-owner and brewmaster, was incredible, and the service was outstanding. Trista and the wait staff were fun, attentive, and made our guests feel so well taken care of. One of the best parts of the evening was seeing our son and daughter-in-love so happy and surrounded by incredible family and friends who enjoyed honoring and celebrating them. Our guests could not stop talking about how wonderful the food, service, atmosphere, and overall experience were. Auburn Alehouse is family-owned, community-forward, and an incredible craft brewpub. It is a wonderful place for private events, date nights, gatherings, celebrations, or simply a great meal with great beer. If you are in Auburn, driving from Reno to the Bay Area, or heading up the mountain, stop here. They are also a fantastic choice for private events and can work with your budget. They even host private events at their Annex across the street. We are so grateful we chose Auburn Alehouse for such an important family celebration. Highly recommend! We will be back - over & over & over! Huge Mahalo Lisa & Brian!!

You have to purchase a beer card by leaving your debit/credit card on file and then use the beer card to make your purchases. When you're done, you turn the beer card in and they charge your card for what you drank. The selections of beer were many. This is a serve yourself room for the beer, many glasses available. There was also a hosted bar if you want to get mixed drinks. We sat there for a while and weren't brought a food menu until just before we were ready to leave. We didn't get to try any of the food. That was a bit disappointing. The room is quite small. I can imagine on a busy night, there is a wait due to the limited seating. The big screen tv's made watching sports fun. Overall, for the beer selection, my husband said he would come back again. I liked the design of the place. The only drawback I would say, is I would have wanted the staff to be a little more attentive. But definitely worth the visit to try this place at least once.

The space is pretty big with a giant bar. It's a great place for large parties and celebrations. They even have games including Skee-ball and pinball machines. As far as food, it took 30 minutes for our food to arrive even with the place being empty. All we ordered was chicken tenders (no sides) and a breakfast burrito. When the server brought over our food, I could tell immediately how poorly the burrito was made - it was too much tortilla and not enough filling. They also cut it at a weird angle so it fell apart while we were eating it. The tenders were good, but overall, the food we ordered was disappointing. Maybe we just ordered the wrong items, I'm not sure. My husband ordered a beer and he really liked it. I'm sure we'd be back for the beer and vibes!
