After 2:20, I got up and asked if anyone was coming to our table, as I've watch tables on the other end being seated, offered water, and putting in their order. The hostess said she'll be out soon, so I imagine we were seated while she must have just started her break. I was beginning to get upset, but Meredith arrived to take our orders and she was an excellent server. The managers should have had her tables covered while she was on break. My granddaughter had the personal pizza with house salad and I had the cheeseburger with a wedge salad. The lunches also came with a mini pizookie, which was plenty after a hefty lunch. My granddaughter enjoyed the pizza, which is the perfect size for her. Her salad was a little lumpy so she just played with it. My burger was really good, but I could only eat half. Oh nooooo. BJs why was the Tri tip steak so tiny?!?! It's just slightly bigger than the lemon wedge. We took this order to go so we didn't notice how sad the meal looked until we got it home. It was a pricey plate too. Flavor was good, even though the steak was small but overall the meal was decently proportioned. I had the pizooki special with chicken, succotash and mashed potatoes which I've had in the restaurant. My to go had less succotash but overall was good. First time here at this location. We didn't have a reservation and were seated right away. Our server was Kiara. She was pleasant and brought our waters out, then took our order. Hubby and I shared the sampler of wings, chips and artichoke spinach dip, two sliders, and mozzarella sticks. It was just enough for the both of us. Everything was delicious. I forgot to take a picture of the sampler as we were hungry! For dessert, we ordered the chocolate chunk pizookie with two scoops of vanilla ice cream. Perfect ending to our lunch! I came to this location late night needing to eat with some friends. The staff was very patient with us. The food was still delicious and hot despite the restaurant closing in 30 minutes. Also notable, the servers were so attentive even though we saw they must have had a long day. We tried to rush and eat and make it out on time but with change being needed we were almost 10 minutes over. I love BJs food but I was honestly disappointed about the service. Came with a party of 4 late at night around 9pm but good thing about this place that it opens late. We got seated right away. We ordered the Handcrafted Orange Cream soda and the Root Beer. It was so good! My drink tasted like the actual orange cream. We ordered Ahi Tuna Poke with chips for appetizers which was delicious. The tuna tasted so fresh with the guacamole. Then I specifically ordered the Rib Eye steak but the waitress confused my friend's prime rib order with mine so she ordered two prime ribs. When the food came out she apologized for getting my order wrong but I let it go and just decided to keep the prime rib instead. All the food was really good. But when it came to the check it was a different story. We told the waitress we wanted to split the checks into two separate checks with our items that we ordered for both couples. But instead she splits all the items in half. We look at the receipt so confused then we clarify that we wanted receipts with our prospective items and then she asks who will pay for the one appetizer. For that one we decided to split it. Later she comes back with the receipts and it shows the word "split" and the items written twice. She doesn't even explain to us how it printed out before giving to us. Then we when we were talking about it she explains it later. In the end it was very confusing and she still charged me for the prime rib price. We loved the slow-roasted Tri-Tip & Chicken. It came with a big container of salads, tri-tip, chicken, roasted vegetables, and 4 gigantic baked potatoes. We also added an order of sweet potatoes. One time we added salmons and the other time burger sliders to our meal deals. The meal deals serve 4-6 people. We are a family of three. With our added items, we can make each meal deals lasted at least 3 meals by repurposing the leftover meats with home cooked carbs. Very Disappointing Experience -- Poor Handling of Our Reservation We made a reservation for 8 people, but when we arrived, we were told that we would be seated "as soon as possible." We ended up waiting for 30 minutes, despite having a reservation. During those 30 minutes, we approached the front desk 4 times to ask how much longer we would need to wait. Unfortunately, the staff could not give us any clear answer or even an estimated waiting time. What made the situation even more frustrating was that, during those 30 minutes, we continued to see other guests being taken inside and seated. I was especially disappointed because I was dining with my elderly parents, who are 93 and 82 years old. I completely understand that restaurants can sometimes run behind schedule, especially during busy hours. However, what upset me most was that I felt the restaurant was not making a genuine effort to accommodate our party or communicate honestly with us. If there was going to be a significant wait despite our reservation, we should have been given a clear and reasonable explanation and an estimated wait time. Instead, we were simply left waiting without any meaningful communication. As a customer, I can understand delays. What I cannot accept is feeling that our reservation and our time were not respected. This experience was extremely disappointing, and unfortunately, I would not recommend BJ based on how our party was treated. read more

Sometimes I'll be craving a burger and BJ's is the first place that comes to mind! I always visit with friends or family and it's a great spot to hang out and eat some delicious food! I always go on weekends and it can be really busy, so it's best if you put yourself on the waitlist to get ahead of the game. When walking in, you're greeted by friendly staff in the waiting area and they check in to see if you're on the waitlist already. If you're not on it yet, they give you a rough estimate of how long it'll take for you to get a table. The estimated time varies a lot and it could be between 30 minutes to an hour. The restaurant itself is quite large. There are many different sized booths and tables to accommodate for larger parties. After being seated and having 5-10 minutes with the menu, the waiters come by and ask if you're ready to order. My favorite item to order is the Crispy Jalapeño burger with fries, and I ask for extra pickles on the side! I also enjoy the chips and dip, which comes with salsa and guacamole. The waiter will always ask how well you would like your burger to be cooked, and I prefer medium because I don't like it too pink in the middle. In my opinion, I think BJ's has the best fries! They have the perfect crispiness and saltiness, and pair perfectly with ketchup and ranch. As for the chips and dips, the salsa has a nice roasted tomato flavor and the guacamole is very fresh, but can use some salt. One thing to mention, the wait times can be very long, I typically wait at least 30 for my food to come out. It is understandable though, as the restaurant is at its fullest capacity on the weekends. To end the meal, I will always order a pizookie! Recently I tried the Dubai chocolate pizookie and it was amazing! I was actually looking to order the monkey bread pizookie but they were out of it unfortunately. The Dubai chocolate pizookie had loads of chocolate and had pockets of pistachio flavor which worked together well. I would recommend anyone to order this pizookie if you haven't already, it's very unique compared to what they usually offer. Overall, BJ's is a fantastic spot to grab a bite if you have some time on your hands, and definitely order the crispy jalapeño burger or any burger with fries! read more

BJ's is my go-to for American food. I have always known that they are a popular restaurant with many entree options and that their pizookies are a crowd favorite. This BJs will always have a special place in my heart. Prior to the growth of Elk Grove that has included many family-owned restaurants, it was the restaurant of choice when I was in my 20's and looking to catch up with friends over a drink + meal. In town for work and this establishment is in the same parking lot as the hotel. Ordered the ribeye (medium) with baked potato and asparagus. The food was good, the steak more on the well side (no pink middle) but was good overall and well priced. I paired this with a Guinness. The wait staff were all friendly and efficient. Very disappointed at my last trip to BJ's in Elk Grove. Out waitresses great, but my mom ordered Parmesan chicken And halfway through eating, it found plastic in it. We first thought it was a little piece, but turns out the whole bottom side was wrapped in plastic, which means it wasn't cooked, but microwaved. Once I informed the waitress, she got the manager Carlos, which took only the un edible dinner off the check. He did say he was going to contact us Via email, but that was a week ago never heard anything.
