Bumper pool table, couches and seating areas. A small bar with some pretty unique cocktails. Apparently it was a hopping place on Saturday night. By the time we got there, ordered our drinks and sat down on the couch, a group of people came in and sat near us with drinks in hand. Guess this hotel lobby is the trending place. The vibe is pretty cool. It doesn't feel like a lobby. Just seems like a chill place to talk and catch up without a lot of noise and distractions. I believe the bar in the lobby is open to midnight. I got a mint cookie drink. And literally tastes like a liquid mint chocolate cookie. I could have had 4 more. Yum, minty.

I've got a group of dear friends ranging from 23!years to 16 years of history and Sydney at WXYZ elevated our experience to one we will never forget. Sydney's ability to craft custom cocktails and mold the environment to her customers was at a level I've never experienced before. Disclaimer: we are from Wisconsin and professional drinkers. We frequent world renowned James Beard award winning bars in operation since 1938. As I'm still on a long term euphoric high from the whole week, I'll reserve any sort of official ranking, but this was one of the best mixology experiences I've ever had.

We sat on high bar stools and overlooked the celebration directly in front of the Live band stage. We avoided crowd crushing, liquid spills on your clothing and the screaming that was taking place below. The great news was it was 77 Degrees rooftop was completely free. Amazing to hear the music from below in an open air environment In addition, the 77 degrees DJ was spinning pop, hip hop and other dance music. While the area is relatively small, they had roped off VIP sections with bottle service. We did not have any food as at this juncture we were not hungry. Because 77 Degrees has an open air setting, it was pleasant to sit and watch the band.

You get a really nice view on the top level (you can ascend the three levels by the stairs or an elevator) and there are a lot of colored lights everywhere to set the mood. It's a fantastic place to celebrate a birthday and that's what I went for; my friend had so much fun on her birthday. They have these crazy illuminated signs that the staff bring by your table. There is bottle and table service, tapas....and hookahs too. The crowd is festive and trendy, but relaxed. It can get chilly at night in winter months, and the outdoor heaters are good but I would still make sure to bring a sweater or a jacket. And even then you might have to snuggle with your friends to keep warm. Or start dancing to the music.

Located off Anderson Mill in the corner of a strip mall is a bookshelf with a door on the right side. If you cannot figure out the entrance, there is a doorbell to ring as well. I believe it is owned by the same people who own The Mill bar right next door, which makes it feel like a cool bonus space. My friend and I sat next to a faux fireplace, where we were greeted by the only bartender working and placed our order. Once he opened the tab, it was disappointing that he never came back to check if we wanted another drink. It wasn't super busy on the Monday we went, but since he was the only one manning the bar, the bartender was always doing something, so I don't blame him fully for not checking back in with us. I ordered a drink called the Velvet Vice. It looked nothing like the picture and tasted similar to an Aviation cocktail with egg whites. I happened to really like it. It is a very relaxed space, but once the speakeasy gimmick wears off, it does not have much else going for it. It is still a cool place, but I am not sure it was worth the lengthy drive to get there. And, at both breakfasts Amy made me feel especially welcome! The table came with a bottle of water for self-service, which I appreciated. The wine list was of good quality. My server at dinner was able to give me a solid recommendation for one to pair with my salmon. She was dead on with how well it complimented the fish. As for the salmon, it wasn't overly seasoned and was incredibly flaky. It was a good size as well. For breakfast, The Breakfast Plate's eggs were cooked perfectly with appropriately cooked bacon. I enjoyed the potatoes that accompanied it as well. The Buttermilk Pancakes meal was a failure though. The pancakes were gooey inside. My server, Amy, offered to have them remade, but I declined the offer. So I accepted a parfait, which was easily one of the best I've had in Austin. The granola with the berries were perfectly balanced, and the granola wasn't super chunky. Amy was 100% invested in my meal satisfaction. The dining room is quite pretty with lovely set tables. Every time I ate, I felt a tad underdressed! But they don't care if you're comfortably casual, and i saw a family with small children looking very relaxed and vacationy and they were welcome.

The room was very nice and the hotel is clean. We stayed on a Sunday-Monday in June so we expected some Summer atmosphere at the pool. There was no bartender and ordering drinks to the pool involved scanning a menu and calling it in like room service. Armando then brought it out and was nice enough. Due to that, they were up charging and taxing each drink. So a $16 margarita was $26 due to room service fees etc. There was only one other couple there and we found the pool to be very boring. It's small and a few more people overwhelms the space. After our stay, I reached out because, besides the two drinks we each ordered, there were unrecognized charges to our room in excess. The hotel took care of them and even removed the uncharged room service delivered drinks which was nice. I got a survey and sent some feedback about some loose tiles and the drink/pool experience and I got a nice offer from an Assistant Manager explaining the pool area and offering us to come back. I took him up two weeks later this time on a Saturday and it was much more lively and busy at the pool. Kids, families, couples all mixed together jockeying for seats. This time they had a bartender who did an awesome job with the extreme demand of everyone but no other service but that. A few guys in suits (managers) came out to watch him work but that was it. The room again was immaculate and enjoyed as well as that manager sending a nice cheese plate and prosecco. Upon checking out the next morning I once again had erroneous charges to the room. (I think they charged me for the provided cheese plate etc). Once again I contacted and they removed them. Once again I took a survey and said this hotel needs to get its accounting right as soon as possible. They had fixed some prior survey issues around the pool which is great so hopefully they respond to the double instance of phantom charges again and get it fixed for all guests.
