Sadly they had no tap beer due to a wedding the night before. (Never heard that one before...) We ended up with a gin and tonic and a Sea Breeze. It was not busy but it took a while to get the food and drinks. The staff were very pleasant but I could imagine if the place was jammed the wait time would have been far longer. It seemed there were only 2 staff on duty. If you are on a tight schedule, this place may not be the best choice... This was a nice bar overall. Very pleasant staff!!

The majority of the patrons seemed to be Hotel guests or business meeting attendees enjoying a quick meal and a drink before ending the work day. The restaurant, located in the Hotel lobby, has a large bar and offers partial booth and table seating. The menu offers basic appetizers, salads, burgers, sandwiches and offers a few entrée selections. The cod in the fish & chips was good; however, the fries were limp and did not taste fresh. The grilled garlic chicken and asparagus was pretty good and the server was great! I would definitely go back if I had a colleague staying at the hotel; however, wouldn't seek out the Oaken otherwise for a night out. The ambiance is lively, with background music and the bar offered a variety of cocktail and wine options.

Very thoughtful to receive a dietary restriction call the day before our reservation. Fantastic table service overall and very American, meaning friendly and upbeat (was this how service was in the 1920s?). Don't be surprised if the manager visits your table to see how you're doing. At first I thought she thought we were unhappy but, no, all tables had gotten that considerate visitation. The valet parking was free but bring cash for the tip. Lovely interior. Does it remind one of something in England? Depends on what part. It's not something in Hyde Park or Aldwych/Strand, each of which had a brighter, more twinkly, more formal atmosphere but, with our upbringings, lesser-appreciated finger sandwiches. Lighting and décor here instead elicited a mashup of a very clean, upscale yet Midwestern-comfy Rye, NY restaurant. Teatime reservations were booked for January 2026 and I was told that the room will be closed the succeeding February for systems maintenance/upgrades. Hope to revisit in March.

It made the experience feel impersonal from the moment we walked in. The atmosphere was very dark and gothic, which may appeal to some people, but it didn't feel warm or inviting to us. Between the unwelcoming first impression and the overall vibe, it's just not a place I would choose to visit again. Unfortunately, I wouldn't be back.

They graciously accommodated our large group in a quieter space where we could actually talk and enjoy each other's company up and down the table -- something that made the evening feel even more special. The food was incredible, as always, and the wine recommendation paired with our meal was so good it deserves its own review. But the real highlight of the night was our waiter, Mario. He made the entire evening genuinely feel like a celebration. His recommendations never missed, he was warm and engaging throughout the meal, and he somehow even managed to get our tired, aloof teenagers laughing and opening up by the end of dinner. That kind of hospitality is rare and deserves recognition.

The cuisine is modern and playful and focuses on local ingredients. I was intrigued by, but did not order, the Something from Land or Air or Something from Water, which I take to mean the chef prepares something fresh, local and what is tastiest for the season. We shared the Warm Hand Made Bread Service (creme fraiche goats butter, roasted pecan hummus and matcha sesame butter) and Crispy Mushrooms (dusted with matcha, sesame togarashi black garlic aioli) from the Small or Snacky section. I had the Inovasi burger (1/3 lb CDK Farms beef) and my companions had the Grilled Ocean Raised Salmon. My burger had a good flavor but they cooked it well done instead of medium. Fries were good. Friends enjoyed their salmon.

We had a 7 o'clock reservation and did not get seated until almost 7:30 which happened to us when I ate here a year ago. The restaurant seemed extremely busy. However, they were extremely accommodating and apologized for seating us late. In addition, they sent over three appetizers for free because of the delay in seating us. That alone gets five stars from me. We had the tavern style pizza, which is only offered on Monday nights and it was delicious! The meatballs, fried cheese and salad was amazing as well! I recommend their creamy Italian dressing. It is delicious! They also brought over some bread and butter, and the butter had coarse salt mixed into it, which was unbelievable! I will definitely be returning!

Okay first the free bread, although the bread is nothing special the butter is noteworthy. Salty and creamy, just incredible. Let's move to the rest of the meal. My chicken Marsala was seasoned beautifully and a decently sized where it was a good portion for one and decent portion to share with a salad and dessert. The branzino was a full fish deboned and lovely. It was a Saturday and the special was the lobster risotto which was incredible. SO MUCH lobster. This is a must order. Although I did not partake in the pizza, the pizza eaters at the table couldn't stop raving about the pizza. The service was spot on and the restaurant was managed really well. Strongly recommend this place and I'm hopeful their Lincoln Park location is just as lovely.
