(1/5) My wife and I went out with friends last week to a new bar in town, The Bar Next Door. Food and drinks were great, however are cocktail server faith made the experience. We started our night outside, faith noticed it was getting colder outside. She let us know she had set up a table for it's inside were the ladies could be warmer and more comfortable. We didn't ask her to do this. She remembered all our names which really stood out to me asking with drinks. We never had to wait or ask her for anything. I can tell you this is my kinda of bar, I can sit there all day and not move... The food is completely amazing especially the pesto pasta and the freaking pizza (OMG) What I also like about this bar is their fresh drinks, The Cucumber Colin's And the Margarites with the jalapeño... Holy smoke! Great little spot to have a drink. A bit overpriced but still good to hang with the locals. I wish they would extend their hours to midnight or 1am because for some of us service industry people that get done at 11pm we can't have time to unwind there after work. Great place! My wife and I love the location (close to home) and the staff. We enjoy being able to stop in and enjoy a glass of wine or an ice cold beer. They carry some of the local wines as well as local beers. If you are hungry the restaurant menu is available in the bar. Recommend the calamari and any one of the salads. When I heard that a bar was opening right near my house, I was skeptical at first. However, any doubt I had was easily forgotten within the first few minutes of sitting down inside. I was greeted immediately as the door opened by both bartenders at the time (Ted and Erica) with smiles. I instantly noticed and liked all the decor inside showing that it was a more upscale bar and not a "dive bar.". All the shelves are vividly lit up and display the premium alcohol perfectly. The HDTVs are located just above the shelves, and a perfect spot to watch sports and talk with friends or meet new people. The bar does play music but it just adds to the ambiance and isn't overwhelmingly loud. As far as the drinks and food go, I didn't have to wait long at all before I was given menus for the bar and Spuntino. Right away I could hear strong experience from the bartenders as we discussed what I'd like to try as a drink first and without much wait, I was enjoying a well prepared drink. If you aren't sure of what you may want to drink or even looking to try something new, just give them a little idea and they'll amaze you every time. The bartenders are very knowledgeable of the food menu whether it be the appetizers for the bar or all of the entrees next door so don't hesitate to ask! Everything I've tried thus far has been delicious and a few have been recommendations from the bartenders. Make sure to stop by here and tell your friends! The servers and barbacks are also VERY friendly and really care how your experience is each and every time you're there. Cassandra and Erica completely ignored my friend and I, but were completely attentive to any males who came in. Went to this establishment with my boyfriend the night before Valentines Day to avoid the long wait that entails on a lovers weekend. Easily found 2 seats at the bar, we sat and a warm smile from our bartender Nettie or should I say mixologist greeted us right away. My boyfriend wanted a spicy margarita and I wanted a basil infused martini and she made us the best drinks we ever had! I ended up drinking a couple of them and started feeling really good. Now on to the food, we started with the antipasta platter which was delish, then on to the spaghetti with ground meat sauce. Spaghetti is great, good amount of meat sauce, not too salty. We also ordered pizza which was amazeballs! It was a thin crust with artichokes, mushrooms, jalapenos and we added pineapple to the mix. LOVE LOVE! Couldn't get enough. They also have this olive oil that was infused with red pepper flakes to give your taste buds a kick, I drizzled it all over my pizza. The service was impeccable. I used to like this bar! It's close to home, the atmosphere was nice, the service was good, and the food was good. And then Mike took over and EVERYTHING changed! He's rude, abrasive, passive aggressive, his drinks are terrible, and the WORST part is that it's common knowledge that HE CHANGES THE CREDIT CARD TOTAL after you leave!! My friend and I got charged $78.00 for TWO DRINKS! However, we signed a tab for the two original drinks! When I told a few other patrons that also USED to frequent The Bar Next Door, they told me that Mike had done the same thing to them and he "does it all the time!" Never Going Back! My husband and I stopped by this great new bar in our neighborhood, and were very pleasantly surprised!!! What a wonderful list of unusual drinks. My husband is always looking for a Sazerac and a good martini, and he found both!!! And they were both perfect. He had a Bleu Smoke martini (Laphroaig Scotch rinse, Belvedere Vodka, dry vermouth with 3 Gorgonzola stuffed olives). I had a Charity Fizz made with cucumber vodka, and my 2nd great drink was a Blood Orange maggie. THEN we split the best sea bass we have had since having fresh sea bass in Lima, Peru. I went to The Bar Next Door with some friends to have a couple of drinks. I have to say, I was very impressed with the drinks, the service, and with the owner. The owner came and sat with my friends and I and just chatted, which really says a lot; I enjoyed how involved he was with his customers and the fact that he awknowledged our buisness and continued to thank us for coming in. I can appreciate an owner who shows appreciation for his/her customers. On top of that, the drinks were good and the bartenders/servers were very attentive and friendly. We finally made it over to try The Bar Next Door the other day and we were very pleased with what we found. This concept is literally a hidden gem and deserves to be discovered. The vibe is cool and the blue back lights on the bar area help to make it warm and inviting. The menu is tantalizing as well, however, what really made this experience memorable for us was the warm and engaging service that we received from our ever smiling bartender, Annette. Annette clearly knew how to mix up the hand blended cocktails that this establishment proudly offers and she did so with ease and confidence. From the time that she greeted us until the time of our departure Annette made us feel as though she valued our patronage and enjoyed interacting with us as well as the other guests that were present. Additionally the busser, secondary bartender and server that were on the floor seemed to be attentive and friendly as well. We were a bit disappointed with the bland and undecorated restrooms however as they were a bit lackluster in comparison to well decorated bar area itself. Irregardless, we will return to this location again and we would certainly welcome being tended to by Annette when we do. read more
