The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful. We understood that they just opened so we didn't expect much as we assume the restaurant is still getting on their feet after opening just a few weeks ago. We came for their brand new brunch after touring the Williams Inn as a potential wedding venue. The staff and servers were polite and smiley. The waitress made it a point to "please give them honest feedback as they are a brand new restaurant". We had no negative feedback for them! We ordered a Flight of Bellinis; each were a different flavor and all were delicious! I was surprised to see a variety of food options on the brunch menu -a lot of seafood! I ordered the Barn Burger and my fiancé ordered Crab Cake Benedict, both were a generous sized portion and very good! read more

We got takeout and it was perfect! Watermelon burrata salad is the perfect salad for salad lovers and haters alike; swordfish was served with a STELLAR sauce; pork chop and filet were fantastic. Calamari was the only exception--inoffensive, just kinda chewy. Excellent service with COVID precautions; a small number of tables available. This was the worst meal I have had in a very long time. Even my boyfriend, who never makes complaints about meals, was extremely dissatisfied. We came on New Year's Eve to get away from the city for an evening and were offered the $75/pp prix fixe menu. We started with martinis which tasted horrible. The caesar salads were tasteless and had giant chunks of ice cubes in them. My boyfriend's lobster tail looked so raw and unappetizing that he never touched it. My risotto was edible, at best. We were charged for wine we didn't order. The decor is nice, though the ambiance really lacks any sort of energy. Would never return here, especially for the price. read more

One does not go to this restaurant for good food, it is of Diner blue plate quality, but the ambiance is fantastic, and the service was great. Last nigh night six of us arrived at the Barn for a late night dinner; after attending a function. We were told by a very polite young person that they were booked but we could eat at the bar, when a young woman with a pony tail arrived, rolled her eyes and screamed at us for daring to come so late, and without a reservation. Three os us immediately left, but we were hungry and sat at the bar where we were treated with greasy, cold food, service by an overworked waitress, and a dirty table. My family and I spent Easter brunch here and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. Like many businesses during this time, they were short staffed which we understood and sympathized with. However, we had to wait 40 minutes for someone to come over to offer coffee and water (this could have been avoided if they had set up water jugs at every table or had a self serve coffee/tea station). We spoke to 4 separate people during that 40 minute period for someone to come over for coffee/water. The food was okay, but hardly brunch food (much more lunch and no breakfast aside from the omelette station). Although I'm not sure if we will come here again, I do hope they are able to improve and succeed. read more

The food here is great. I like how all or most of it is locally sourced. There is a small, but good selection of craft beers at the bar. The food is a bit on the expensive side. Expect to pay $16 for burger, or $40 for the high end steak. I took my drink, and finished it outside. The adirondack chairs are a nice addition. Except for one problem. They are not wood, they are plastic! On a solid wood adirondack chair, you should be able to set a drink on the arm, and have it stay. On these chairs, a small wind, or a slight brush of your arm, and the drink will be sent flying. I understand why plastic. Probably more lightweight, and easier to clean. However, the only change for the chair I'd consider making here is a really solid wood Adirondack chair, instead of the plastic ones. The other change I would consider, are for there to be more tables around or in between the chairs, as I feel there could be a couple more...especially for those chairs that are directly outside the restaurant, closest to the main eating area. read more

My wife and I enjoyed our first meal when the Barn was virtually brand new and of course, they were experiencing a few "opening issues" which we hardly noticed or were concerned with and that didn't affect the quality of the meal, the prompt service or the attractive atmosphere. Since then, we have returned twice and have been very pleased with our experience and meal both times. I ordered the Caesar Salad and a side of mushrooms and onions to go along with sharing some of my wife's steak dinner choice. Everything was cooked perfectly and was delicious. The service was friendly and efficient. The dining room as well as the bar were filled with other patrons all clearly enjoying being there as well. We plan on making this one of our local favorites. read more

IMHO the club sandwiches are the only thing worth getting. Recently I tried the Atlantic Salmon, and though I am a certified salt fiend, this was way too salty. I've heard that this could be due to the fact that chefs sometimes are smokers, and not able to taste things too well. The spinach florentine was heavy on the sauce and skimpy on the spinach. On another occasion my friend ordered the Pasta Primavera, and similarly, had to use 2 extra pieces of bread from my club sandwich (plus more from the fridge) to sop up the sauce. She said it needed about 2 cups more of noodles. read more

I have been here many times because I have the dining misfortune of living in Williamstown. The town has one good restaurant, Mezze, and a dozen mediocre to terrible ones. Everyone in town expected this restaurant to be a credible alternative to Mezze. Unfortunately, it's not even close. They changed the menu recently, which is good because the previous menu was terrible. This menu sounds much better, but the food quality is just not there. Some of the shared plates are ok, and the burger is pretty good. Anything more complicated is going to disappoint. Everyone comments on how slow the service is, which is true. However, I think the servers are pretty good at their jobs. They just need to add one to move things along, but the pool of adequate servers in the area is tiny. So I'm sure they are struggling to find anyone halfway competent. All of this sounds pretty unappealing, but just by providing mediocre food at a slow pace, they are better than almost all the other alternatives in town. So I figured I'd give them three stars. Under no circumstances should you make an effort to come here. However, if you're in town for some other reason, most other restaurants in town will be worse so this one wins by default. Williamstown is a great little town with lots to offer, and I highly recommend visiting or moving here. Especially if you know how to cook or otherwise work in restaurants. Our restaurants are very bad (except Mezze, which is very good). Williams Inn put up a pretty poor effort and is nonetheless always crowded. Imagine what you could accomplish if you knew how to put something edible on a plate. read more

The atmosphere was ok, but there was no way to get into the bar unless you went all the way through the hotel first, then we asked about appetizers and were given a dinner menu with none listed. We asked if they had wings and fries, they said sure, but no mild just hot, and garlic parm...ok so we get 2 orders of garlic parm wings and a plate of fries. Fries were covered in way too much salt, and I'm a salt person but holy crap...and 2 plates of small slimy wings covered in powdered parmesan, 8 on a plate...totaled 36 bucks!!! Very solid start for a new restaurant. Staff is lovely. Kind but funny. Super accommodating to our large and slow moving group. Most of the food was delicious. Egg sandwhich was tasty. First time going here for breakfast. Being seated took a bit longer than expected but worth the wait. Our waiter, Sasha, was amazing! If an owner or manager reads this I would like to tell you how kind, happy, and overall how amazing he was! The food was good too, I personally ordered the Broken Egg Sandwich (ham, egg, and cheese) and it was very good.
