Had dinner with 8 of my girls. It was Wednesday night. They were busy and it was good to see two of the waiters that I know. They have a pre fixe and it's perfect. All the food was good and very generous portions. There was a hiccup with a few of the Seafood Fra Diavolo and they were very accommodating. Great service, good, strong drinks, and all around great vibe.

A charming place for dinner and sangria! Which by the way was soo good. I loved the decor and coziness of it. Great for date night. I wouldn't say good for kids. They have a great pre-fixe menu and their dishes are prepared very well. Tasty to say the least. There is a small bar where you can also grab a game from the overhead tv. Overall I would recommend.

Beautiful book stand behind our seats at the bar.

On Friday night a friend of mine and I thought we would go to The Basement for after dinner drinks and dessert. This was perfect. We were able to get great seats at the bar to the left and back as you walk in. The ambiance was mellow, pleasant and great for a wind down to the week and a good start to the weekend. We shared the crème brûlée for two which was so delicious. My friend got a caramel cappuccino and I ordered some steamed milk. Simple and yet so satisfying.

My partner and I stopped by The Basement for a lighter dinner before our Ferryhawks game (just a 5-minute walk from the restaurant!) I loved the vibe of the restaurant. It's book/library-themed. Their bathrooms are even hidden doors! I had to ask the waitress to show me exactly where they were, because I legit thought I was looking at some bookshelves. While we didn't order much, the food was much better than I expected. We shared the mussels (with lime crema on the side) and grilled octopus. Of note, we also received complimentary grilled bread to whet our appetites. No major complaints about the food. I thought it tasted really good! However, a few of the mussels tasted a little too fishy. Perhaps a little undercooked? On the bright side, we didn't get sick, and we overall enjoyed our meal here.

Met a friend here for lunch on a Friday afternoon. This place has a nice location near the mall and Ferry and inside was a nice ambience. We all had beers and sandwiches; mine was the chicken Caesar wrap. It was fine - I was hungry so I ate it all. It could have used more Caesar dressing and the cheese. I would not be opposed to coming back and trying something else.

Hurricane was good. $10 outside of Happy Hour. Never really go to the bars in Staten Island but this had a good vibe. Ordered fries that never came, so can't talk much about the food. I found out they were never coming because I closed out and only had the hurricane on my bill lol Glad I didn't take my time with the drink waiting on the fries since parking is 1 hour only on the streets unless you use the meter. I'll probably never order food here.

The Basement is a hidden gem across the street from the Staten Island Ferry terminal. The food and service are wonderful! We started with great cocktails, followed by steak and swordfish, and for the finale, a delicious crème brûlée! We had a toddler with us and they kindly gave us a booth on the end with a banquette so she could nap! By the time we left at 8pm, the place was packed.

We had two apps. We ordered three entrees for two people. The chicken with the lemony sauce was great. The short rib wasn't my favorite. We drank a lot. It was expensive lol. But whatever how many good places are there on Staten Island? The bathroom is hidden in the bookshelf which is funny when you're in your cups and gotta pee lol. The scallops might have been the best thing I had. Nothing blew me away but everything was solid. The service was above average.

Superior cocktails in a comfortable setting. The restaurant location is close to the St. George Theater and Ferry Hawks stadium. The cocktails were memorable. The food was good, mostly comfort food as you would find in a better neighborhood restaurant. The service is helpful and attentive.

Very Chill Vibes…read more The coupe is one of the only places in Staten Island you can go to get real cocktails after hours. They have great mixologist that actually take pride in their work. I got a Sazerac with cognac, I usually get that but this time they didn't have Pierre Ferran for they only had Ansac. I personally don't care for Ansac so I believe it totally changed the taste of the drink. The bartender could tell. I didn't like it and he asked me about four times " Are you sure I change it? It doesn't matter." I'm like if you're gonna ask me that many times then let's change it. So I got a sidecar and that was fire.

The bartender made a special drink for my friend since she was unsure of what she wanted so we told the bartender to make her something special. The ricotta and honey spread was fantastic I absolutely loved it. The staff was nice. The ambiance was beautiful and quiet but still lively with music in the background loud enough to hear but not overpowering. Very nice place. Almost want to gatekeep so it doesnt become too crowded but I really do think it's only fair to give them their flowers and a very nice review! 8/10 recommend.

We started with drinks and some lite breakfast fare all of which tasted good. I went with the crab cake eggs Benedict with wasabi hollandaise sauce which was full of flavor. The crab cake itself tasted as if it just came out of the sea. Incredibly fresh. I also got to try their French toast entree too. What looked like 2 slabs of brioche made into French toast with a berry topping and maple syrup was also just as good. 10/10. The service here was very polite and attentive to all of our needs throughout our visit. I would definitely like to come here again. Eat here!

I received a call to confirm our reservation, inquiry about food allergies, confirm our celebration and express they are looking forward to welcoming us, this set the tone! Very nice aesthetic. .The door man Keith was very warm and welcoming Our server was Santiago, he was knowledgeable about the menu, so professional and personable. The other staff members were also very nice. The manager stopped by to check on us. Now the food! Let's start with the offering of fresh sliced fruit for our sparkling water! Cucumber, lime, lemon, orange and strawberry. Do cool! For the appetizer we had the pork belly bao buns, lamb chops and fried calamari. For the entree we ordered the Chilean sea bass, the Salmon and Halibut, all were prepared perfectly. For the cocktails we had the Smokey blue sky and the blackberry flutterby delicious! Finally for dessert we had the warm chocolate cake, the pistachio cannoli and strawberry mandarin almond cake. Everything was fantastic.

As I walked in and saw just how swanky this place is I panicked - there was no way we could just walk in here without a reservation, right? But the hostess was, thankfully, so down to earth. I was straight up like hey I totally messed up and thought we could just walk in here, she was like you know what, let me see what we have. Lo and behold, she did have a table for us - as long as we were out in an hour and a half, which was just the right amount of time. Stepping into this place feels like you're in some secret, super special cocktail club. Decor is super high end, vibes are upscale AF. The cocktail menu is incredible -- and incredibly pricey, but truly worth it. I ordered the Valentino which was strong and sweet, really well made. They gave out a complimentary nut mix that was also delicious. Service was swift and gracious. If you're looking for a spot to impress a date, this is it.

There's also seating on the second floor, perfect for couples or small groups. I tried two of their cocktails when I went. The first was the Eastern Julep, a delicious twist on a classic. The mint Moroccan tea gave the drink a cool, refreshing taste on every sip. I also tried the Silver Screen, the closest drink I could find to an old fashioned. It was interesting, there was definitely a hint of a buttery taste. Overall a really balanced bourbon drink. I walked in and found room at the standing tables. A bar seat eventually opened up but I was already on my second drink by then. Definitely make reservations if you're planning a visit!

Since we were big fans of those alcohols, we decided to check it out. The walls of the space were covered in colorful murals with Latin American imagery. There were banquettes along either wall with small tables and ottomans scattered in front of them, providing separate, little areas for each group. Large playing cards were fanned across each table with Jack, Queen, King, and Ace cards each having a menu on its backside. There were bar bites, a spirits list, classic cocktails that could be reimaged with your agave spirit of choice (picture a tequila mojito), and even a custom beverages. The creative drinks were not cheap, coming in at around $20 on average, but they certainly were complex! My La Balacara featured Casamigos Mezcal, spiced pear, Luxardo, orange, ginger, chestnut honey, and a chili tincture. I thought the drink sounded outrageous, but, sadly, all I tasted was that honey, the ingredient of which I was least interested. In fact, the smokiness of the mezcal really did not play well with the chestnut honey, leaving it to taste sort of like licorice. I was not a fan. My companion's El Encanto included Casamigos Cristalino, Lillet Blanc, strawberry-lemongrass cordial, guava, and basil, which sounded herbaceous, but really just tasted like a fancy daiquiri. He enjoyed it, but I found it unimpressive. Our drinks were accompanied by a complementary bowl of spiced popcorn, which was delicious. We had come from an earlier dinner, so the snack was as much as I needed. However, the few larger food items that I saw others order all looked great. While I would go back to Perico to try some other items, I felt like I had had better, more affordable cocktails upstairs at Panela.
