Jonette-- It looks like, since my last visit to this review some time ago, B&B is trying to repair it's reputation on Yelp. Too bad you didn't try to private message me or make any other effort to actually address our concerns (I just PMed you so you know how to contact me if you'd like, but I expect you to maintain my privacy on this site). Let me be clear....we spent over $30,000 on a bathroom remodel with your company--on all new fixtures from you--and the order you delivered to us was incomplete, including missing parts. Our project came to a total HALT for several weeks while we endured a total lack of customer service from Rob and everyone else at B&B and fought to get the right parts to install our new fixtures. I didn't purchase anything on the internet, although doing so would have gotten me better pricing and much better service, so maybe I should have done so. People should beware bringing business to Bath & Beyond. read more

My husband and I have been in this store at least three times. Each time the scenario goes like this, "hey look customers walked in--let me just ignore them--OK everyone look busy...now how does this pencil work again...oh my look at this computer monitor" ...WHAT A JOKE. There is no customer service. The person we worked with hand wrote information down for us instead of saying oh here is the company that makes it and they have a web site or a brochure. It was like pulling teeth to get them to provide us information. Their attitude is that they are completely uninterested. I have had it with them. Last I checked, money is no different if it comes from me or an architect or a designer and if they don't want my business, then they shouldn't keep their store open to the public. Period the end. We went to a competitor who answered our questions, gave us a ton of brochures and was just a pleasure to work with. NO THANKS RUDE AND PRETENTIOUS BATH + BEYOND! read more

The word that came to mind, when I entered was "ostentatious" followed by the phrase, "How Much?". Floor items are un-priced, which means the customer is at the mercy of a sales person, who will not answer what you ask, because she is busy at the front desk, and you are a "Regular Joe". I am not a regular Joe, I just look as if I am aspiring to be one. If you have to ask the price, you can't afford it is the attitude here, if not the fact. Even the courtesy of a price sheet, as is used at art galleries, is not practiced. Of course toilet seats and medicine cabinets are not art, although the spiel of Bath and Beyond appears to indicate they are. They have some very attractive fixtures, but a lot of flipper style, astronomically priced, over the top, too sexy for my privy designs, which I would hate within a year of having them installed - the kidney shaped tables of today's bathroom accessories. As I said, ostentatious. After finally finding a day when they are open - opening times and closed days are not posted on the web - I ended up paying astronomical prices for gorgeous items at JC plumbing and fixtures instead, where I received wonderful service and fell in love with Italian fixtures. The opening policy is not a problem, except for the fact that they neither post it on their web site, nor do they have a sign in the window saying when they will be closed after holidays. I suspect that the arrogance I experienced just before the recession may have mellowed a bit, but they have lost my business for good. read more

I think the key to having a good experience here is to make an appointment. I made an appointment with Allen Galvin and he was incredibly helpful. I should say that I walked in about 15 minutes before the appointment to look around and was completely ignored. But Allen was extremely helpful. I had a lot of questions and wanted to walk around and look at a lot of things with him and he was nothing but gracious. I also found their prices to be competitive. I went to a bunch of different showrooms - fancy (DJ Mehler, Jack London Kitchen & Bath) and not so fancy (Pacific Sales, Floorcraft, Ashby Lumber) - and their prices were all either in line with others or lower. They carry high end products, so in that sense, their prices are high. But their prices are not inflated. If you want a cheaper price, you need to just shop for cheaper brands. I ended up buying everything from DJ Mehler because I went there first and they were willing to price match. But if I had gone to B&B first, I certainly would have purchased everything here. Update: If I could give Bath & Beyond six stars, I would. Just got off phone with Michelle, who resolved an issue stemming from my mis-measuring a slightly ambiguous dimension. She had me on hold, got the vendor on the line, and resolved the issue immediately. This interaction alone was worth any amount of discount from a big box retailer (and they don't have this product line, anyway). And it is indicative of the high level of service that Bath & Beyond provides. read more

I wouldn't be the first one to mention horrific customer service of this showroom. But they also have no problem breaking consumer laws in the hope that nobody would take them to court (yes, who has time to deal with it?!) Well, we might have to, just to teach these guys a lesson. Long story short: I went to their showroom to look at vanities for upcoming bathroom remodeling and saw vanity I liked on sale. I was surprised, as their prices generally at least 40% higher then any other showroom I've been too. I confirmed price with sales rep to make sure I'm not mistaken. Then I called my husband and asked him to look at the vanity. Of course they are closed on weekend (why would they stay open to make it convenient for the customers?), and he had to take time off his very busy work schedule to come to showroom. Before he came down a week later, I called B+B to confirm that vanity is still on sale and price hasn't changed. My husband liked the vanity and purchased it at the sale price that was clearly displayed on the vanity. 15 min later after he confirmed he made a purchase and returned to work, I got a phone call from the manager that they made a mistake and vanity is not on sale: they are planning to reverse our credit card charge and void the sale. I couldn't believe what I heard! The fact that we have binding contract due to accepting our payment apparently means nothing. Clearly they don't care about their customers, their reputation and reviews (there plenty of horrible reviews on yelp), but breaking consumer laws so blatantly is definitely taking it to the next level. read more

We have delt with Coleen in doing a high end remodel. The bathroom faucet finish has worn off, the drains have NEVER worked and has not been even 3 years yet. I have called repeatedly over 8 mos finally got her to answer phone in March, only to have her say she "would look into it" it is now June and I have not heard a word. I called this morning and was told she was with a customer. I left another voice message. Wonder how long it will take for her to get back to me. Very High prices, unusual designs but really none of this is worth hasseling with them. Will NEVER buy ANYTHING from them again. I want to give Bath Beyond an excellent review. Bath Beyond is the best bath design center in the Bay Area for quality bath products. I went to numerous places and came right back to Bath Beyond. Not only for their high quality and beautiful products but also the service. Sam Jabri helped me navigate through a laborious process professionally. He is extremely patient and a pleasure to work with. He went the extra mile by researching products best suited for my home. He is an encyclopedia of information. It's like getting lost in a labyrinth, yet Sam new exactly which catalog to find the best product for me. Thank you Sam, I truly appreciate your help. The bath and beyond has poor customer service. If I could give it zero stars, I would. We ordered console legs for a sink from them. It arrived one month late (which is the manufacturer's fault, not theirs), but the staff at the bath and beyond were so rude every time I called to follow up. Horrible, horrible customer service. I order fixtures for 6 bathrooms and kitchen. They order a wrong item and refused to return it. Additionally, they never respond to phone calls and takes weeks to return emails. They are very responsive when they want to get payments though. I will never buy anything from them again. read more

WORST RETAIL EXPERIENCE EVER!!! Like other reviews have suggested, customer service here approaches hostile. Eye contact and any hint of friendliness upon entry seems to be almost studiously avoided. But stupidly I complied with the many posted signs that basically tell you to wait patiently for your turn when you then will be rewarded with a salesperson's full attention. After waiting for an hour trying to not bother anyone, the store closed while one customer was still with a salesperson. I thought the remaining salesperson would then turn his attention to me, but rather than doing so he started to head out the back door. When I asked if I could ask a question, he said "if it's quick." When I said "maybe you'd prefer me to go elsewhere" he literally shrugged his shoulders. I was incredulous and said "You're telling me if I were to spend $20,000 tonight you wouldn't care?!" He said, "We're tired and want to go home." The other salesperson initially defended him but apologized when the customer she was with looked like she too was deciding to go elsewhere. The remaining salesperson then proceeded to tell me something to the effect of how recent staffing decisions had left them feeling all overworked, adding "management needs to hear about it." At least she apologized for my experience while the other jerk implied I was the problem. I have sympathy for the plight of the sales people who obviously are trying to do their best under untenable circumstances so can at least sort of appreciate this one woman's reluctant apology. I have no sympathy for the other guy, though, who was flat out rude. And from my own experience and that of many others (as I learned reading other posted reviews), I have no doubt that management at this place is really bad. Shame on them. I hope somehow they'll be affected where it hurts the most - their revenue stream. read more

My husband and I are remodeling our home and wanted a small, sleek vanity/sink combo for a new powder room. Found just what we needed at Bath + Beyond. Our salesperson, Colleen Finney, was knowledgeable, polite and efficient, answering all of our questions before we placed our order that day. After the cabinet arrived and during the install, we noticed a gouge in one of the drawer fronts. Called Bath + Beyond immediately and were helped over the phone by another employee, Sam Jabri. Thumbs up to Sam, who has great customer service and phone skills. He contacted the manufacturer to discuss our situation and called us back in a timely fashion. Weeks later, voila! A replacement drawer front was shipped and will be installed next week. Unlike some of the other negative reviews written here, our experience with Bath + Beyond was top notch, not to mention the myriad of fixtures and displays B+B has for you to peruse and choose from in their expansive showroom. read more

I have had the most incredible experience with Bath and Beyond. I had done my homework - knew the dimensions of my bathroom and had a fairly good idea of what I wanted. My first visit wasn't great. I too felt ignored. Things got a little better after I purchased an $80.00 toilet paper holder. I decided to go to Expo in Emeryville but had a less than pleasant experience there so I decided to give Bath and Beyond another try. I'm sooo glad that I did! Michelle was VERY helpful and product knowledgeable. I really felt that she heard what I wanted. She even worked with me to customize a vanity to match a picture that I carried around, but in a size that accomodated my space. My order came in in a timely manner. I was able to pick things up from the warehouse as I needed them. The showroom is pure eye-candy. Although they sell high end items (Lalique faucet knobs) I found their prices to be comparable with EXPO so I rated them as "moderate" in the cost category. However, I found the quality to supercede EXPO. I also did not find much $$ difference between BaB and my on-line sources - taking s/h into consideration. I could not be happier with Bath and Beyond and will use them again when I remodel my second bathroom. read more
