Decent for the area - obviously you'll get better stuff driving up to Maine but for around here I'd say 4/5 for sure! The staff is super friendly and they have a ton of awesome outdoor seating. It's located in the new Tuscan Village which is super cool!! We got lobster rolls which you can get 4, 6 ,8 or 10 oz and we got scallops and clams. The clams were huge! Both were really good and their tartar sauce is delicious too, if you like it on the sweeter side! All in all, solid find and we would gladly go back!! read more

Stopped in for the first time and got take out. The food was great and thought we had found our favorite restaurant. Went on the 25th and ordered our food and sat down. Two women came in with dogs and sat them at their table. One even took one to the counter to order food. After she sat down with the dogs at her table a lady from the kitchen came out, patted both dogs and went back into the kitchen to work with food. The young guy behind the counter came to our table and I told him what we had seen. He talked to the manager and the manager came out to talk to the women. He must have told them we complained because they just glared at us until we left. If we liked dogs enough to eat with them we would get a dog. Leave your dogs outside, in the car or at home. They are animals and not people and others should not be expected to love them like you do! read more

This location is run by children who have no idea what good customer service is. No manager in sight. I ordered takeout this evening and went in to pick it up and stood for 15 minutes waiting for someone - anyone - to acknowledge my existence so I could retrieve my food. I saw the bag placed on the to-go shelf and then stood there trying to make eye contact with someone to see if it was my order. The kids behind the counter had two different apparently fascinating conversations going on and couldn't be bothered to ask me if I needed anything. There are two walls behind the counter where they hide from customers to talk. The only thing as consistent as the food at this location is the poor customer service. Two stars since the food would have been great if it was hot. If you order takeout - take it upon yourself to walk behind the counter to the wire shelving. That's where it is sitting while they are ignoring you. read more

Second time we ordered from this establishment and just like the first time was pleased with the portions and quality of the food. I ordered fish and chips and an order of fried clams. One word Delicious. I read some reviews that were not very complimentary but remember that is just the reviewers opinion which they have a right too but in my opinion you need to have your own experience and not be swayed. read more

Went here Monday 5/30 with husband. Food was okay. Soda machine ice maker was broken, main dining room has to be at least 82 degrees. No ceiling fans to move the air. Outside there are only six umbrellas. The place is grimy, dirty and greasy. Glass doors are cringey with grime. In the 40 minutes we've been here there is no one clearing the tables or wiping them down between customers. There are two girls delivering food on the patio and they continue to walk past the debris and dumped food around the trash cans. It's incredibly gross. Won't be back. read more

The worst lobster roll I have ever had. My daughter had their fried clam plate. Clams and french fries were both sub-par.

My husband and I went recently and he got a 3-way seafood combo and I just got fish and chips and the food was delicious and good portions but almost $70 for the two of us?!? Prices are unreal, we really like the place but probably won't be going back. Went to a sit down restaurant last night with our daughter and order 3 meals and 3 drinks (one alcoholic) and our bills was $72. Oh well, luckily if we want seafood there are other choices nearby. read more

Nope! Smelled like burnt oil. Line was long food tasted like a school cafeteria way overpriced for what you get. Staff was nice and friendly. Not at all what I expected. Restaurant was comfortable and great atmosphere! The store manager talked with me for about 5 min made us feel at home. He took the time to help me with directions and really was a kind sincere man. Stopped in to get take out dinner. Pint of shrimp and pint of clam strips with two kids meals. The pint of shrimp only had 13 in it and the clam strips pint was full but little to no clams. They just threw the breading and refried old breading without clams. It was disgusting. Clearly cutting corners an hour before closing at 7 PM. We've had good food in the past, but clearly the cooks tonight don't care about customers. read more

Food ok, pricey. A side salad was 6.99 I had the clam chowder in a bread bowl ( 2.50 extra for the bread bowl) it was flavorful. Husband had the big catch, they charged him extra for fries, which should have come with the meal. I would compare it to a weathervane restaurant. read more

I have always love The Beach Plum for many years. The usual quality is a meal that isn't greasy and very attractive . Not what I experienced on Saturday, July 24th. The girl that rang up my order was extremely pleasant. I had an order to go, Three Way Combo with shrimp, scallops and haddock. We opted for onion rings instead of fries. Because there was room to sit, we had our take out order there. We were very disappointed to see only a couple of shrimp (2) with our order. The onion rings were completely mangled so the coatings were completely separated from the onions. The fish was extremely greasy, we threw half of our order away. So disappointed when we were so excited to have a local Beach Plum instead of going to Epping. read more

First time trying this restaurant. Ordered the fried pickles and clam dinner plate. The place was busy, but my food came out quickly, nice and hot. The clams and fries were great. The fried pickles were terrible. The batter had a bad bitter, almost chemical taste to them that really disappointed me. I tried several more, no good and didn't want to eat the rest. Hoping it was just me I brought the rest home and had my daughter try them. She took one bite and told me they tasted terrible and threw it away. read more

The food gods punished me tonight. I ordered a pasta dish at a seafood shack. And there is a good italian restaurant across the parking lot! Scallops scampi....what was I thinking? This was really awful. The scallops were tiny, limp and flavorless- bay scallops I guess. It was on capitavi pasta, floating in a pool of lemony watery sauce. Not a scampi at all. Tried the Beach Plum at Tuscan Village for the first time tonight. Waited until the summer crowds went away to give it try. Walked in around 7:30 pm. No waiting in line. I had the scallop dinner plate and my husband had the haddock basket with onion rings. Plenty of scallops and haddock in both dinners. The scallops were tasty and the haddock had a nice lite breading. Will definitely go back again. It was nice to have a new place in Salem, NH to go for seafood. It's definitely a casual dining experience. Make sure you practice getting up/down and in/out from a picnic table before you go! Have been driving to Portsmouth, NH for lobster rolls for years...was happy when they opened a branch in Salem, NH. Went there for the last time. Lobster was dried out and did not look fresh. Taste was like eating cardboard. At those prices, I have eliminated them from my list, and have advised my family and friends to do the same. read more

Excellent seafood! Worth the trip. Everything was tasty, Clams and shrimp were great. Definitely you should try it out.

Food was good. Picnic tables inside are kind of low class. Worst part was all the table were sticky, pretty disgusting.

We had a delicious meal, for what I received from my order. VERY disappointed though. I ordered a lobster roll and should have checked my bag, but never received it and called the manager with my receipt number and information, and asked for a call back. Horrible absolutely horrible..... they said a hour and half wait for the food, ok I understand there's a lot of orders, but giving me my frappe a hour and a half before my food??!?! So I have to buy another drink when I get my food? On top of the bad customer service, there is absolutely no social distancing, people are side by side. The food was very very very over priced. There is clearly a management problem at this location because the staff are really rude and disorganized. It does not appear that there is any manager working and they were messing up everyone's orders including ours. When we discovered our large coffee frappe was chocolate (after asking if it was correct at the counter when we picked it up) all the woman behind the counter did is look at me. Weird. I thought you were supposed to say "sorry, let me make the correct one for you" when you mess up an order. Another woman came and asked what was wrong and I repeated the issue and she went and made a new one. The other woman continued to look at me and so I said "Did I say something wrong?" And she said "That is a large frappe" (which is tiny) I said "Okay but I ordered coffee not chocolate ". Anyhoo, by the time we got the new frappe the fries we ordered were cold. The lobster roll was good but the roll was cold and barely toasted. For $30 for the lobster roll alone you'd think it would be toasted. They have a decent product but the service is horrendous. Went there Tuesday for dinner I ordered the fried haddock sandwich which showed a fried filet of fish on a roll with lettuce and a big slice of tomato when I asked the girl what it came with she said French fried AND COLD SLAW (didn't have my reading glasses and could not read what was above on the menu) it was quite expensive at about $13 after taxes. My friend got a lobster roll the 5 ounce size it did NOT look ok worth the price about $23 after taxes. My fried fish sandwich was not good first the roll was a squished and grilled flat and there was not any lettuce or tomato and the fries were extremely over spiced It DID NOT SAY SPICED FRIES on the menu and it does NOT come WITH slaw you have to either swap out the fries I guess or buy a side. Ohh there was not any tarter sauce or Mayo on the plate I had to go back and ask for it for which I got a disgusted look from the employee when I asked for some. My friend who loves eating at the Beach plum as the shore said her lobster roll tasted old and was NOT good as she watched me THROW OUT my flattened roll and attempt to eat a very fishy tasting what they called haddock I call COD it looked like cod under the batter Needless to say I threw it out after receiving the disgusted look just for requesting tarter sauce I could not imagine what they would say or do if I complained about the food. I can assure you I WONT BE GOING Back. They serve small expensive portions and the cheap picnic tables are extremely uncomfortable and difficult to sit on. Not one employee greeted the customers with a smile they looked pissed to be working and the cooks were not wearing masked ones had a wrap but used it to go over his head and UNDER his chin. I'll stick with Bradford Seafood in Haverhill they are out of this world fresh seafood and ALWAY great you not only with a HUGE smile but they remember your name I do not mind paying the high prices for the seafood BUT it has to be fresh. When it says the fish is Haddock THEN SERVE HADDOCK. There was no way 5 ounces of lobster in her roll. I should have taken a picture of our food had I known I was going to right this review but My friend asked me to right it as we were leaving. I WONT BE BACK that's for sure and I was excited to learn the Beach Plum was coming to Salem it's just another high priced chain. I give it no stars ohhhh and it's freezing in there so be prepared and the cheap picnic tables have cracks and rough spots watch out for your clothes. I do NOT see anybody coming out to sanitize much less wipe the tables after the customers got up from eating disgusting. read more
