I went inside to pick up the order and they advised they did not have it and that I must have ordered from Bellingham, so I headed over there. We ordered the fish sandwich special and the steak and cheese special. Making it a special adds fries and a salad. My fish sandwich was very good. The fries and salad are a small portion, but for the price it makes sense and is the portion size we should be eating anyways. I really liked their fries, crispy but not burnt. My daughter had the steak and cheese and said it was very good. It small, I would not recommend for someone with a bigger appetite. The salad on the other hand was not good, the salad tasted unwashed. Overall though,the pricing was good , the food was good (other than the salad) and we would go again. read more

I usually get roast beef or pastrami and sandwiches have large portion of meat and very tender. You can add toppings (onions, cheese, mushrooms, etc)for a bit extra. My party of 4 had lunch on Saturday afternoon. We ordered Roast beef sandwiches, burgers, fries, homemade chips and a shake. The sandwiches and burgers are basic, but you can add on bacon, mushrooms and cheese in addition to lettuce, onion and tomato served on a soft toasted bun. Delicious pickles are served on the side. This place is super special. It's not like anywhere else. I am a child in an adult body so I LIVE for the grilled cheese. I usually get two! It's not a typical restaurant. They have lots of finger foods and everything is really simple. And everything is SO FRIGGIN GOOD. My boyfriend almost always gets the steak sandwich, which is thin cut ribeye. YUM. I always get a smorgasbord of treats - grilled cheese, chicken fingers, side salad (their house Italian dressing is super yum), usually French fries. I almost always leave with dessert (Boston cream pie is my fav!) If left to my own devices, I would only ever eat here. Amazingly quick service!!!! I ordered the steak sandwich and it did not disappoint. Steak so tender you can bite right through it. The fries were hot and crispy. My friend ordered roast beef and said "it basically melts" it's so good. So after I finished my steak sandwich, I got a roast beef. It really does melt in your mouth it's so tender. Being familiar with the Beef Barn in North Smithfield, I had no idea that TWO of these gems existed! As much I like the North Smithfield one, I think their Bellingham, Mass. location is even better. I recently changed employers, and like my former coworker, John, my new coworker, Bernie, doesn't bring a lunch to work. Bernie and I finished a job nearby around 1:45 Monday afternoon, and he drove to this Beef Barn. Now, I had already packed a lunch, but it's tough to resist the Beef Barn's siren song ... what to do? Bernie had an easy solution to my dilemma: "Make your lunch (that you packed) your dinner." Right on, Bernie! This location has a similarly rustic-looking building, but their parking lot is larger and easier to negotiate. It also seems a bit roomier inside, and had a laid-back vibe, with 70s and 80s music playing at an appropriate volume. Service was friendly; the young woman who waited on us at the counter always had a smile, unlike the typical employee at a fast-food chain. Our food was ready just a quickly as a fast-food chain, although the quality between Beef Barn and a chain is no comparison. Their beef melts in your mouth, and their fries are hot and crispy. The menu is simple, but has an impressive array of choices of sandwiches, sides and even desserts. But the best thing about Beef Barn (well, besides the beef) is that it is a great value. I got two very generous roast beef sandwiches, fries, soda and Boston cream pie (which appeared homemade!), for a very reasonable $12. Honestly, just one sandwich would have been enough, because I was almost overstuffed eating two (then my bill would have easily been under $10). OK, first the negative. The silo attached to the building IS NOT, in fact, filled with gravy. Once past that shattering disappointment everything else was great! Burgers have nice grill marks and great taste. Steak sandwich was tender and tasty. Shake was thick and delicious. Very inexpensive, but as some have mentioned they do charge for tomato, lettuce, etc. If it lets them keep costs down, I can live with that. They seem to be inexpensive looking to the menu until you start to add on the sides to go along to complete the sandwiches. Everything is extra So basically they strip down the sandwich to bring down the cost to suck you in and then they hit you up for the cheese, lettuce, tomatoes,onions,mushrooms So for example: That steak sandwich that's in the menu for $4.50 Sounds dirt cheap and its supposed to be a sirloin steak. It's the smallest and thinnest slice of steak on a toasted buttered roll. Add the sauté mushrooms and onions and cheese. That wimpy steak sandwich now becomes $8.00 wimpy steak sandwich. Still the smallest steak sandwich ever, even after all the add on extras Smallest portion of a small french fries I've ever had in a restaurant. The roast beef is sliced and dropped into a colander to a warming broth or au jus to warm up And then they squeeze all the juice out of the roast beef. So now the beef is dry from the moisture extraction. I guess they don't want the rolls to get all soggy but now you have to drown the sandwich with barbecue sauce or ketchup. So in reality if you pay attention at the end of the meal it wasn't really as cheap as you thought it was going to be. read more

First time here, and now I'm addicted. I ordered the chicken cutlet, my wife ordered the roast beef after our waiter, Bonnie, said it was a fan favorite. We also ordered small fries and chicken tenders. The food came out in about 10 minutes, fresh and piping hot. The quality and amazing flavor in each sandwich was out of this world. My first time here. The previous post was a post for my mother. My view is a little different. It's a seat yourself place, which was fine. The waitress was super cute and very nice girl. The food was OK for the type of restaurant it is. However, I had chicken nuggets and they were ok. Problem was they were on the bigger size, not bite size, and they only had plastic knives and forks which didn't work for cutting purposes. I ended up just picking them up with my fingers. The milk shake was like a McDonald's shake. I was looking forward to it being really good, but it was average at best and it was small. Also had cake which was just as hard to use a fork (but I worked hard and got threw it!) All in all it was OK for a quick bite, but not a go to place for dinner. read more
