I happened to eat at this location on their last day! (Aug 8, 2021) They are relocating. I am unsure of the new location so you'll have to google. I LOVE the Beef Barn!! Usually I go to the Bellingham location (that location is definitely open and not moving any time soon). I can not sing the Beef Barn's praises loudly enough. I get me a little smorgasbord usually, everything is ridiculously inexpensive. I'm basically a 5 year old so I got a grilled cheese, chicken tenders, and French fries. Not a bad local spot for a quick and inexpensive bite. Super friendly staff! Good service especially it was busy as hell on the day before thanksgiving. Obviously I had to try the roast beef with Swiss cheese, it was a bit soggy and just tasted like it was boiled instead of roasted. Enjoy a great experience each time you go. Been doing it for 52 years and not tired of anything on the menu. We all love the beef due to the slow roasted spiced taste. 6/7/24 My wife and I have been to the beef barn many times looking forward to having a roast beef sandwich. sadly, this time was not the case. I know food prices are going up and quantities and obviously quality is going down,but there is no excuse for the sandwich I received. The roast beef was tasteless and look like crumbled meat. A lot of the reviews mentioned the cheap prices and as the saying goes, you get what you pay for. I also had a cheeseburger with lettuce and tomato that was delicious. I can't understand what is happening to the roast beef sandwiches that used to be delicious. I do have to commend the server. She was very pleasant. I like going to the beef barn, but I guess I will have to order everything but the roast beef sandwiches on the menu because they definitely are not like they used to be. I must say I never use A1 sauce on any meat but I couldn't taste the roast beef and I couldn't tell what it was eating even after adding salt and pepper. read more

Our standard roast beef sandwiches were overcooked and not in the least bit pink (the dried-out meat resembled and tasted more like frozen Steak Ums than freshly sliced roast beef)---they were quite tasteless, and served without any embellishments, on a plain hamburger bun. To make matters even worse, they were served tepid. Hoping a condiment would improve my pathetic sandwich, I requested horseradish sauce. What I got was a packet of generic mayo and a tiny cup of fresh horseradish to throw together myself. We chose to share a large order of fries which were pretty good, but the "large" order was pretty darn small and I wondered what a "small" order contained---perhaps half a dozen fries? The only thing I enjoyed was the Wright's coffee milk, which I had never before tried. My companion's ginger ale was ultra-carbonated, under sweetened, and tasted more like seltzer than ginger ale. Next time we're in the mood for inexpensive roast beef sandwiches we'll opt for Arby's Beef 'n Cheddars, and save ourselves the long drive for totally substandard eats. read more

Decided to check out the beef barn for some steak, roast beef and pastrami sandwiches. I like how they make everything to order. The girls at the counter were friendly and the line moved along in an orderly fashion. The barnyard decor gives you a nice country feel and the sandwiches warm up your insides with deliciousness! The food was definitely worth it, nothing on the menu is more than like $5 so it's definitely budget friendly. Sad that it took me this long to try this place!! Where has the beef barn been my whole life! This is honestly just my happy place. For sure to recommend this place to friends and family if you haven't been you are for sure missing out. Never disappointed and consistently delicious. The roast beef is always moist the fries are always fried to golden perfection and the food always tastes so fresh not to mention there is always a slamming selection for a sweet treat after you mow down a few sandwiches. The beef barn was perfect for a quick, not too heavy meal and the google maps said its a 7 minute drive to the Drive in movie! We were so happy we stopped here. It was such a cool place inside, the roast beef sandwich "meal deal" was excellent. Super cheap, juicy and tasty. On a Wednesday evening, this place was busy but there was no wait! Fun concept with lots of history. Great and very inexpensive food. Everything is pretty much ala carte. The roast beef is amazing. Place was packed, service kind-of slow but was understandable. Guy getting drinks and cleaning tables was very nice. Server was nice but she was probably the only one there and it showed. She did her best. Place definitely needs to be thoroughly cleaned. Woonsocket Greasy to the touch everywhere in this place. Prob needs to get a better exhaust fan for their kitchen. But food was good no complaining about that. Just do take out if u don't want to smell like grease and stick to everything. read more

Hidden gem in northern North Smithfield. Great roast beef sandwiches, hamburgers and rib eye steak sandwiches at a very affordable price. The 'new and improved' Beef Barn IS DEFINITELY all it's cracked up to be and more! The waitstaff is always pretty decent. The food is always delish. The cleanliness is okay [a few flies swarming while we ate at the counter were aggravating though]. The best part of the new location is the addition of the ICE CREAM side! We've visited there more than we did the old location and it's farther away but worth the drive! One tiny complaint is they don't have a beer/wine license. That would be a great addition though.... You know how Cheers had the "where everybody knows your name" slogan? This local favorite is where it felt like no one cares what our name is, just get in and get out. For a place touting beef, I certainly felt like a cattle call was going on at lunch time. When we arrived, the lot was full, as was the restaurant. No one to greet you or let you know whether to wait for service or just try to seat yourself. Eventually, we asked and were told "just sit where you want." OK then. In a place with 5000 old signs all over the place adding to the decor, a "Please Seat Yourself" sign might be a welcome addition. We sat at a dirty, unbussed table because there was nowhere else to sit. Someone came a minute or two later to clear it and take drink orders. We got milkshakes. We also got roast beef sandwiches and a cheeseburger as well as a "large" fries and homemade potato chips. The fries aren't large. Get one per person. The shakes were the next disappointment. Watery and more milk and bubbles than shake, they tasted OK but were basically like drinking slightly thickened vanilla milk. And they went down just as fast. The roast beef sandwiches were rare, but tasty. A tiny step below a typical Walt's Roast Beef sandwich, but certainly tasty and reasonably priced. The cheeseburger was also good, not great. Average. The fries and chips were also what you would likely find attached a thousand other places. Not bad, not great. Good. The prices are reasonable. The service is a bit overworked and thus, not going to make it all worthwhile.
