So, I was getting a new dryer and decided it would be a good time to clean out my dryer lint vent…read more I ordered a kit with a round brush and some flexible rods that you attach to a drill and feed through the vent to clean out the lint. Sounds simple enough, right? So the flexible rods that screw together unfortunately separate while I'm using the drill and the brush and several of the rods are stuck inside the duct. I watch a YouTube video explaining how to remove it (it apparently happens frequently) by buying additional rods and attaching a "corkscrew" made from a wire hanger which you feed into the duct by hand to hopefully "grab" onto the brush and pull it out. You guessed it, that got stuck too. I called King Air Duct Cleaning and Lance (the owner) assured me that he understood the issue and he would be able to squeeze me in so I could start using my new dryer. Lance was here this morning and he was amazing. Within 20 minutes he had both of the pieces removed from the duct and all of the built-up lint cleared. Then he hooked up my new dryer, tested the airflow and assured me everything was good to go! And the cost was about 1/3 of what I thought it would be! Highly recommended!!!

Is that a good old boy make work arrangement or even a conflict of interest? On a home that was built in 1995 they did new home type inspections with current building requirements and codes and what common sense would suggest normal lived in conditions. On another note it seems like a new hot button in the real estate industry to recommend underlayment replacement even though there have been no leaks and no insurance claims whatever. Is it possible that realtors are using this as a ploy to get the price down? A suggestions would be to separate health and wellness issues and cosmetic issues so you don't kill sales or just shift over to new builds inspections only.

The morning of appointment I received a text msg, indicating ETA for his arrival. He and his co-worker did a great job installing over 13" of insulation in our garage attic! He took before and after pictures of our attic. The inside temperature of our garage feels much better now. This is a small owner-operated business who knows how to take care of their customers. A couple even came by to look at the job site and make recommendations about the type of installation they thought I needed. After talking to four or five firms, Milton from Izzy's insulation reached out to me and made the most practical recommendation based on my unique situation. We ended up going with a blown in fiberglass insulation of R 38 and 13 inches. His price was the best by a few bucks, but I particularly liked his practical recommendations, and so ended up using him. He booked me out a week later and showed up exactly on time and had the job done in just a couple hours. He even provided me with before and after pictures that I can use when I submit my taxes for an energy tax credit. Very straightforward and honest service I recommend if you're looking for installation to talk to him at least. As it ended up the insulation did basically nothing to help with the temperature in my garage. If others are looking to do the same thing, I tell you to look at a combination of insulation for your ceiling, walls if needed, and the inside of your garage door these metal garage doors really radiate a lot of heat into the garage.

I previously called Kevin regarding my concern over finding dead bees. He provided me with helpful info over the phone & no pressure at all. I didn't realize the severity of my situation until this morning when I found a lot of dead bees. I liked his demeanor over the phone so I called him again. He arrived shortly after & had already located the hive before he even came to my door. He walked me outside to show me exactly where it was & explained what he'd have to do to get rid of it. Lucky for me it was attached to my neighbors house but since I was the one that originally called him & because my house was being affected as well, I was involved from start to finish. Need less to say within a few hours the entire hive was gone & he had repaired/replaced any stucco that had to be removed to extract the massive hive. When all was said & done you wouldn't have even known he had ever been there-that's how excellent his work is. He's informative, nice, takes his time & clearly takes pride in his work. I would recommend these guys to everyone! I've never had a yelp account but i felt compelled to make one just so I could try to convince everyone to choose this company. The technician I had the pleasure of working with was Javier. I can't even began to express my appreciation and gratitude for his services. I'm a first time home buyer and I've never had to deal with a bee hive before so I was extremely rattled when Javier told me that we were dealing with a large hive in my roof. However, i was quickly comforted by the fact that Javier was so professional, knowledgeable, and so quick to remove the hive. The extraction required a few holes to be drilled in my roof but once Javier was done, I couldn't even tell that there was any drilling done - it literally looked good as new. Kevin came out the same day we called. In August 2015, Orkin guy found bees in my mom's attic and killed them but said we should call a bee removal company to remove the hive and honey. We called Kevin and he came out the same day. He estimated $850 to go in through roof, remove honey, clean where honey was, seal the immediate area in something that masks any remaining odors that attract bees, and repair the roof (no painting). However, he said the hive was so small (shoebox size) that he recommends we do nothing - that he wouldn't do anything if it was his house. We took his advice. He wouldn't take any payment for coming out and giving his advice. He could have gone ahead and performed the work and charge my mom, but he didn't. He gave his honest opinion and didn't take advantage of my mom. Kevin and the Beehive LLC are professional, knowledgeable, pleasant to deal with, and most importantly, honest and ethical. We had a beehive under the floor of our wooden shed. The price that the owner, Kevin, quoted me was very fair compared to the estimates I received from other bee removal companies. He was very prompt in returning my emails (I had lost my phone) and was able to come here the same afternoon. Kevin prefers to relocate the bees alive, but our bees were in an unfortunate spot under the floor of a shed which made their survival highly unlikely. The job was done quickly and efficiently, but Kevin didn't act like he was in a big rush. He stayed to talk to me, and answer all my bee related questions. Very bad service. We have noticed bees entering into the attic from the roof. They came and sprayed and their main marketing is to remove the the hive for a very high cost. I said first remove the bees from entering inside the attic and clear them away as they are stinging people. I need to make them come twice, but they are just pretending like spraying or trying to remove bees, but they are not. They are negotiating the price to remove the hive every time. I noticed a swarm of hundreds and hundreds of bees on my Wisteria bush... I searched online and found the Beehive. I called around dusk on a Saturday and Kevin was at my house within the HOUR! Courteous, prompt, effective service... he sprayed my bush while the bees were gone for the night. I did not realize that bees could travel up to 3 miles to get a good bush to forage! Today we purchased our 5th or 6th gallon of honey from these folks. It is by far the best honey I have ever used. Bee removal extremely important to access roof/attic/paint etc. This is the second bee company which has shown its incompetence. And I've had no issue except for these bee companies. Both have charged MORE than their stated quote. Job has been what was predicted, reasonably easy access, no snafus, yet charged more (and ironically it's never LESS). I mean at least ONCE they have to come across a job that's easier than expected, right? But I digress. I've paid $500 to first company who quoted 250.00. "Oh there were 2 hives". Second company, ASAP (now somebody else/other name) comes out cuts hole in stucco (which is fine/appropriate) but says one hive removed along with 100lbs of honey. 975.00. (Orig quote 750.00 AFTER the tech had been out there and assessed. But regardless of shady business, after paying nearly 1500.00, I still have bees. Plenty. And when brought to their attention, both companies went to house when I wasn't there (which is not ideal but they have eyes). ASAP goes out to house at 8 pm. Rarely have heard of a swarm attacking someone at dusk. They're in the hive! Basically saying I'm seeing things along with roofers, handyman, and painter. I sent a short cell phone video of the bees and got ZERO response. The bee biz must be about as "fly" by night as the undercoating and rust proofing business. Don't use these companies.

I am not particularly afraid of insects - I can crush a cockroach or squish a scorpion - but an aggressive airborne army is more than I can handle. My "hornets in Tempe pool" Google search sent me to Hornets Pest Control, and I am so incredibly grateful. The owner, Ray, is responsive, polite and accommodating. On the day of our appointment, he arrived exactly on time and went to work immediately. He assessed the pool area and investigated our thick hedges before making a quick change into protective gear. Less than five minutes later, he was standing at our sliding glass door holding an enormous wasp's nest (had I been inclined to grasp the thing, I would have needed both hands.) The honeycombs were oozing with white, cocooning larvae. With all of those baby wasps on the way, our "bee" problem would have quickly become a dangerous natural disaster if Ray had not come to the rescue. He explained the deterrent strips he placed in the shrubs and around the infested area, and warned that we might see a few die hard "worker wasps" returning to their home base over the next few days, but they would relocate quickly. Sure enough, five days later, we were - and remain! - completely wasp free. For an incredibly reasonable fee, Ray gave us back our beautiful backyard. He is a pure professional and absolute expert. If you have pests and need the problem solved - quickly and completely on the first visit - don't waste your time calling anyone else.

He was kind, professional, and extremely knowledgeable. He took the time to educate me about pest control and explain the services being provided. Ray thoroughly sprayed both inside and outside of my home, provided white powder treatment and sticky boards, brushed areas as needed, and even picked up dead bugs afterward. His attention to detail and level of service were excellent. I definitely recommend Ray and Hornets Pest Control for anyone needing pest control services!

And what do I see on my way to work, but an adorable little store front advertising HONEY! Punch Honeybee has a store right by my house! Of course I must go inside.... see what the buzz is about! Wow. So inside it smells like a version of heaven. There's bee wax products around the room, and a wall with the latest local honeys in jars. The coolest part about Punch Honeybee is that this honey comes from relocated bee hives. Bee colonies that decided someone's chimney was a nice place to settle needed to be removed. And instead of fumigating, Punch Honey moves them to one of several locations and collects their honey. While I was there they had Sonoran Desert, Citrus and High Pollen Honey. They all taste different and they are all delicious. I had to buy all three of course - couldn't pick just one. Or two... There's also a list on the wall where you can sign up to have a bee colony set up in your yard. How cool! Of course there are conditions (space, neighbors, etc), but some day soon I may just be collecting honey from my own back yard. :) Check it out. Super cool place. Super cool owner.
