Bought a ticket because it was billed as The Fixx with special guest, The Smithereens. About a week before the show, Ozomatli was added and the Smithereens were no longer listed. I'm going to call that a Live Nation issue. Aside from that, this was my first time at the venue. Parking was easy - I found a meter a block away. Admission was quick and easy. Attendants were checking IDs and issuing wristbands for alcohol to those standing in line before the doors opened. The venue is beautiful. Getting drinks/cocktails was easy. The restrooms had a lot of stalls and no restroom "attendant". Although it wasn't the band line up I hoped to see, Ozomatli was a nice surprise. First time at the Belasco and it was not really a hit for me and my girlfriend! We found a food spot and parking lot nearby which was well priced for the evening. We went to the Belasco for a Comedy show, Updating hosted by Netflix is a Joke! It was easy getting inside of the venue and easy to navigate. The restrooms, bar and seating were self explanatory. It was a funny and entertaining show, only thing was the seating arrangement was really tight and bulked together. I felt super squished and uncomfortable because the guy right next to me crossed his legs. It was partially that dudes fault but also was just so crammed with the seats they added on the floor. It was nice having employees help guests to their seats though. Worse thing was the A/C they had! Oh my gosh it was like someone took a wind blower and put it on our backs with cold air. Yea totally understand a place like the Belasco needs to be cooled with that many guests and lights but ayoo it was a crazy cold breeze where people near us actually had to go three times to tell them to turn it off. I was here for the Converge/Poison the Well Peace in Place Tour. The show itself was great, Converge was amazing. The check-in process was fast, you get in and get out. Very accessible via public transportation, I used the 45 bus to get to the venue. My biggest complaint is that you are forced to buy tap water since they do not have any running tap water, yikes. They may throw your water bottles out if you try to bring them in, security is pretty strict with it. Sometimes the bands and venue tech will throw bottles of water to the crowd-- you have to be lucky enough to catch them. Venue food is almost always going to be overpriced, so I recommend eating beforehand. read more

Came here to watch Sooshi Mango as part of the Netflix Is a Joke Fest show on 05/04/2026. I bought VIP tickets and arrived early for the meet-and-greet. This was my first time at the venue. After the meet-and-greet, we were not allowed to stay in the lounge/bar area, leave and re-enter the venue, sit on the stairs, or sit on the floor. Basically, we had to stand around for more than 30 minutes with nowhere to sit. I didn't understand why they wouldn't allow guests to remain in the bar area, where sofas and chairs were available. At one point, I sat on the stairs until an employee told me I could not. Another woman in the group, who was older, even requested a chair. Eventually, they opened the doors, and we were finally able to go inside and sit down. One nice perk: when you purchase a soda and popcorn, you get free refills until 7 p.m. They also offered a variety of food options, including chicken tenders and nachos, along with alcoholic drinks. read more

I love historic theaters in DTLA and I was looking forward to see a show to Belasco since we never been here before. We got our chance last weekend when we had tickets to see John Carpenter in concert! Belasco is located near the Mayan on Hill St. There are lots near by for $15 or $20, based on the distance. We opted for the subway which was a good idea. It gets crowded after the show outside, everyone is waiting for a shared car service. Since this show was very short (1 hr. 15), we had no issues walking back to the subway. Had a mess with our tickets (couldn't see them and retrieve them on their app, 2 phones didn't do the trick). I called Ticketmaster and they told me to go 90 minutes before the show and they will help me at Box Office (with receipt and ID). We got there 90 minutes before, it was a tad confusing, there were lines (just for meet ang greet). I talked to staff and they told me they open the box office at 7 pm (discrepancy between Ticketmaster clerk in whatever country they were and the reality of the venue). Not the venue's fault, their staff is actually very nice, informative, put me at ease since we never had this kind of situation. We went to dine and came back before 7 pm. A line at box office, solved the issue, got paper tickets, customer service was nice. But the situation delayed us to get in GA line which was huge - longest ever, around 2 corners at least. The entry was slow, we seemed we like we got in the slowest lines. The venue is small. GA is standing room only, very crowded, no AC, it was hot, so the concert was in smell-a-vision. I prefer seats since I am a tad shorter and I couldn't see the stage well, many heads ahead. There's a bar behind so I tried to stay away, didn't need extra noise from it. I think they oversold the show and it was beyond capacity. Didn't buy food or drinks. The sound was great, so was the lighting. Great to see the Master of Horror playing his themes from his music! Bathrooms- we went downstairs. When I went down, a cleaning lady was coming to open the ladies one. Like I said, I was in a long line, why wasn't it open before? Clean since it was just opened! The lobby is small and they had so many vendors, it was hard to move and get inside. After the concert it was a panic attack situation, had a hard time coming out. So, oversold. I prefer other theaters in DTLA over Belasco- never had to stay in lines that long, not well managed. Standing room is not for me. Not impressed with Belasco, I am not sure I am interested in returning! It was for a special show! Happy Halloween! read more

I have seen a wide range of shows here, including Arca, Between the Buried and Me, and comedian Sheng Wang. The theatre really is beautiful but I will say, each show has had some technical issue, particularly with sound. I feel every show I've seen here the sound quality is quite frankly, terrible, so it leaves a lot to be desired when spending a bit of money to see some of my favorite acts. The sound quality is unfortunate because otherwise, I feel the experience is pretty nice. The staff have always been kind, the bathrooms kept clean, and the drink/snack prices fairly reasonable. Getting in and out of the venue is pretty easy as well. Of course, we don't really get to pick where to see our favorite artists play, but I will say, if I am on the border of seeing an artist play in LA, seeing that they are playing at the Belasco sadly makes me prefer not to see them. read more

I've been to the Belasco sporadically over the years. I do like this venue. I was able to find parking across the street at a lot for I believe, $20. I've been here long ago for some EDM shows and then saw the Adicts a few years ago (that was incredible) and recently saw DJ Max Cooper perform here and that was very cool since he had a 3D set-up. I would see an artist here again because it is a beautiful space and I believe there's seating upstairs and a bar up there. Definitely a historic Los Angeles venue. read more

Came here recently to watch a concert, tickets are affordable and the venue has to be on the smaller side of places I've been. That just means a better view of the performers on stage! What impressed me is that staff handed out free water between songs and the different bands that were on. That's really nice of the venue and prevents dehydration from concert guests. Street parking was my best bet, or you might have to pay up for the little lots on the surrounding streets. read more

I came to the Belasco for a concert and had a fantastic time. I got there early enough that I was second in line. Security had all the partitions well marked (VIP vs standard) and ushered everyone in in a well organized fashion. Definitely better organized than other venues I've been to of this size. The inside of the venue is lovely. You can tell they did a great job to restore and preserve a lot of the original interior while also updating it for modern performances. And the sound during the show was fantastic. Often times when I am right up against the stage the sound is horrible but that was not the case for my visit. Yes, bass was high, but I could still hear vocals and guitar. it sounded as good as it would've if I was right next to the mixing board. My only real complaint was that when I was leaving the show, the line for the merch table, which is right at the entrance in the lobby, got very long and blocked the flow of traffic. It made it tough to get out of the venue. But that's a minor gripe of mine. In all, I had a great experience here. And I look forward to the next time I visit. read more

This venue serve drinks and snacks, but I didn't get any and just claimed a spot on the main floor right away so no one would take my spot Customer Service: Average: no clear direction as to where to get certain pre-packaged merch from my ticket that had added goodies other than general admission as some staff would be working as a 3rd party to the event and would not know where you should go to pick up pre-packaged merch; my recommendation is to ask all staff where certain things are once you get to the venue. As for lining up for the event, if you pay more for a general admission, chances are you should line up in the "will call/box office" line and not the long "general admission" line; when in doubt just ask the staff that knows where everything is Price: $88.85 to $199.40 for me on admission, but that's depending on the event which could be a different price Ambience: Indoor venue with great surround sound. Seating limited to VIP privileges only that pay the highest price for tickets, but I could be wrong as I did not pay for VIP tickets. The aesthetic, the acoustics, and all the mini showrooms attached were delightful for a first timer like myself. I came for Substance Fest and I was impressed with the ubiquity of fun being had. Every room was full of live music and it was perfectly overstimulating. I felt like I was in a maze filled with sensation. Came here 2 days in a row for DIR EN GREY's Tour25 WHO IS THIS HELL FOR? [mode of VULGAR & Withering to death.] I went as general audience and came there on both days around 2 hours before the show started. If you're smart enough and look around, you can definitely find free parking. If not, there are closer lots around for $20-30 if you're paranoid. I know there were issues with people who got VIP, express pass for the band itself, and VIP for the venue and the confusion it was to split into lines, but that wasn't the case for me. I know the first night started out with a 30 minute delay, not sure if it was because of the set up or because of the confusion that started before. At the very least the staff was pro-active in checking ID's and giving out wristbands for those in line. Security goes by as fast as it would at Disneyland so that was nice. I LOVE the architecture of this venue. Looking up and seeing the dome (?) ceiling and all of the small details is a real treat. Makes it feel like you were teleported back in time to a fancy, more elegant theater. There are stairs to a balcony level with railing and if you paid for a certain form of VIP you can access the seating there. Surprisingly, despite being only 5'4" I was able to see the stage decently well from the back and from the pit, so they definitely did design it at a good slope to allow for this. Bar is expensive as per usual, but they did have a $12 wine refresher special that my boyfriend got and it was decent and more reasonably affordable. Okay, so the main issues that I had with the venue. The merch table only had 2 staff working it. Not sure if it was venue staff or band roadies or temps, but it caused me to miss like 2.5 songs for the first night. The internet is NOT good here and the method of payment was tap to pay only, thus holding up the line even more for those who are screwed over by Apple Pay or digital wallets. Hopefully they find a means to create a hot spot or something here. I didn't have to go to the restroom as badly, but my boyfriend said that BOTH nights were disgusting even at the start of the show. Night 1 had the entire hallway corridor reek of urine even before stepping in and making the trek and Night 2 the urine smell wasn't as awful but there was feces smeared everywhere. I guess this is what's expected at a venue with hundreds of people, but Christ on a bike, can't imagine what the restrooms look like at the end of the show if that was what they were at the start. I didn't notice it so much the first night, but after seeing several people point it out the second night, I did notice that the sound quality was a bit more "muffled" than what was ideal. DIR EN GREY is an amazing band to see live, but I feel like my experience would have been much more enhanced with those improvements. read more

We were back to see the heavy metal band Mayhem play to a packed crowd. The sound was great and the venue always has a great vibe about it especially with it's dark ambience. The only drawback are the pricey drinks at the various bars. There's a nice large sitting area where you can enjoy the drinks and some food items that are for sale. read more

We had a great experience! First time attending a concert here. We came to see John Carpenter and it was awesome! The ticket said it started at 7, but apparently that's when the doors open and the concert was at 8, no big deal, it we stood in line since 6 not knowing that. We had standing room only tickets which was fine as we found a little nook on the side where we had plenty of room to enjoy the show. Super pretty place! Merchandise for sale was in the front lobby, kinda tight area, but the line moved fast. Bathroom were down the hall to the side. I would def come back to see another show. This place is a hotspot for thieves, COME HERE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Went to a concert here the other night (second time coming here), and multiple peoples phone's got stolen outta their pockets while pushed up against the mosh pit. My girlfriend had her phone stolen out of her pocket during the very first song of the headlining band. After going to the lobby of the venue to ask security where the lost and found would be, we saw multiple other people (who were standing in the same area we were) complaining to security about the same thing. In fact, one of the girls talking to security said this wasn't the first time her phone had been stolen at this venue. She eventually found her old phone in a pawn shop weeks later. At this point, it became clear that this was planned and organized as a way for some lowlife to make a quick buck. When we told security this, they didn't do a thing. Someone gave a description of what the thief looked like, and they did nothing to help us. I won't be returning, as apparently this is a consistent pattern. I doubt I will be getting my money back, as I only got to see a single song from the headlining band. If you can, try to skip this place. read more

Saw Marc Rebillet at the Belasco last night and had an awesome time. (Flew in from Denver just to see him). Had never been to the Belasco, so did not know what to expect. Definitely lived the ambiance, size and sound - really solid. Liked the bar upstairs. We ended up buying the balcony seating so we could get a great view rather than go GA. It was expensive ($80 a person) but wow the seats and view was insane. We don't go to a ton of concerts so I decided to splurge (and we did fly to LA to see this). I would definitely go to another concert at the Belasco - just decide if you want to do GA or pay for balcony. Only reason I gave it 4 stars was the price of the balcony tix. read more

Small theater that is mostly standing only. It can be difficult to see the stage of you're short. Parking can be difficult but there are a lot of lots with guys waiving you in ($15-30). There is a balcony but if you're not able to stand right up against the railing, you won't be able to see much. Drinks and popcorn available at the bar. read more

The acoustics are great at this venue. No audio trouble like we've had at others in the past. Accessibility was a bit of a hitch. Outside there is nowhere to sit, so if you are a cane user who hasn't quite graduated to a rollator, I strongly suggest asking someone you know to borrow theirs for the evening. Getting a chair for my dad required asking a minimum of 3 people each night, at least one of whom was agitated we dared to ask (both nights, 2 different people!). The email I had from the Belasco from months before is the only thing that got us into the lounge area to sit, so make sure you ask via email and keep it to show them. Beyond that they seemed very odd about actually remembering any of us existed to get us into venue on time. We had to ask both times and they were like ????? and then frantically included us. So you've got to be persistent to get your place unfortunately, which is not something I'm normally good at, so I'm glad someone else in our group was more outspoken. Also of note, they say there is an accessible lineup. There isn't. You have to make it yourself. So lining up in advance means nothing in the long run when you're in need of the accessible area. Chairs are small wooden things that flex and shift a lot of you don't sit quietly and very still during the show. As someone whose legs are what is going and my top half is just fine, I wanted to still rock out to, ya know, a rock band. But every time I moved I was scared the whole chair would give out. Two other people in other groups mentioned that as well. So beware going too hard while sitting in them lol! Also get your merchandise up front. If you try afterwards there are no accessible provisions to the queue. They scrambled and got me a chair after a few minutes. But i wa left to drag it along with me and attempt to sit on water slick very sloped floor with it, getting up and dragging it forward every minute or so. My hips gave up on that around 20 minutes into the line and I had to leave without the merch I'd been in line to purchase. Overall, I liked the venue for the look, the sound, the stage area, and having their accessible area to the right of the stage. They also didn't have issue with my medically needed bag o stuff. But you've got to advocate for yourself into oblivion and I some cases it still won't be an accessible outcome (an accessible example would have been letting the people where I'd be in line know I was lining up, but then letting me sit at the front until they were up at front of queue and then allowing me into line in my spot; fair for the spot but accessible for me). read more

As someone who LOVES classic venues and travels all around the country to catch concerts- I had a blast at the Belasco. I drove out to LA by myself to see The Lox at this place. A had such a great time! I was able to find convenient parking right across the street for a reasonable price and the drinks in the venue were priced great as well- way better than Vegas prices. Ended up meeting a few people while there and felt safe alone at all times. The Lox were absolutely epic to see and I can't wait to catch another concert here. read more

Honestly, at the very beginning of the experience tonight with the show with Gottmik and Violet , our experience completely sucked. We were in the front of the stage, and some girls came in. They pushed me and my fiancé out of the way so that they could be further upfront and then started dancing around wildly when nobody else was doing that. They were completely inebriated. They kept smacking my fiancé's hand while he was trying to drink, kept bumping into him and then even at one point misunderstood what he said and thought he called her a man when he said ma'am. I was polite several times asking them to please calm down and stop bumping into him and then at one point the girl with the ponytail decided to tell us that we should get out of the mosh pit.If we can't handle it. We let Security know what happened at the point where she got her friends involved and they started threatening with words of violence. We met with a security guard or possibly just event staff by the name of Noemi. Immediately after she heard what happened she tried to accommodate us by moving us away from the area into the accessible seating, and then stated that she was going to go speak with them. Once she came back to speak with us, she had tickets for a free meal and two free drinks along with moving us up to the balcony seating.. what she didn't know before all that happened is my fiancé is a trans man who when I left to go talk to Security was physically attacked by this stupid girl and her friends and whatever position she has there at the Belasco is definitely warranted. She is an amazing individual who has a good heart and who cares about the LGBTQ plus community. We are absolutely thrilled that tonight happened not maybe the first part but definitely the second part because we got to see that the Belasco really cares.. We will absolutely return to watch something else there as we feel safe. It was nice to see protection from not only Noemi but from Karma as the girl got called up to do a lip sync and really just bombed. Congrats to the guy who represented Violet.... You did the thing. This was our first te at the Belasco. There are several parking structures across the street for around $25 (that's what we paid on Saturday) do that's very convenient. I think there's a club kept door which was a bit annoying at times as we could hear their loud music during the concert. Nothing fancy but, uncomfortable folding chairs but the staff was very nice. We didn't go inside the bar and didn't check the food options. All in all, not a bad experience. Seeing Eivor live made up for any shortcomings of the venue. read more

First time here at Belasco for the Slideaway Festival last night, 3/30/24. Great architecture, hardworking helpful staff, yummy hot pretzel with nacho cheese in the snack room. Cocktails were kind of bad (flat and watered down), so might as well as drink water next time. We used a parking lot a quarter block away for $10. We enjoyed watching Tanukichan perform, as well as 5 other artists/ bands including Film School. Sound system super loud, seemed a bit heavy on the bass and drums so we couldn't hear any lyrics, but a fun night anyway. Decent airflow as evidenced by the fact that all the vaping and pot smoking didn't bother us until the last hour. Would love to see other shows here in the future. read more

Another great music venue in downtown LA. I honestly hadn't heard about this venue much so was excited to finally check it out this week to watch some friends play. The venue itself was easy to find and navigating downtown LA to get here just is what it is, not the most convenient space to get to but that's pretty much any cool music venue in LA. There were plenty of parking lots around this theater so that was also a breeze, didn't need to walk far to get to the venue. I felt the signage and different lines were clear on where you needed to wait to get in. I had to pickup a ticket at will call and there was literally no line, was able to walk right up and be helped. I'd say staffing and security were easily 5 stars throughout the night. Everyone here is so kind and helpful. There were no stuck up vibes or bad vibes, they have a stellar team here from the security, to the bartenders, and the general staff throughout the venue. Everyone was really helpful. I had questions about how to get backstage for the VIP area and they walked me through every step to get there easily and without issue. Also impressed with security as they were nice but made sure to check IDs and wristbands which I appreciate for the fans safety as well as the musicians. The venue was clean and spacious yet still intimate. I like that the people purchasing general admission get an up close live performance even if they are towards the back. For an extra cost the balcony also seemed liked a nice option as they had seats and small tables. The GA was were it was at for the vibes and close standing room but if your traveling with someone older or who needs to sit the balcony seemed nice. Clean bathrooms at a music venue is also A+, don't take this for granted. Lastly I just really enjoyed the layout of the VIP backstage area. It was nice that they had balconies on both sides of the band/stage so you could have a nice intimate experience without being squished together. The views were great being slightly above and getting to see your friends play plus watch the audience having a great time. This area was just really nice as they had booths in the back if you needed to sit and then complimentary waters and such. One of the better backstage / off the stage hangout spots compared to other venues I've been at. All in all The Belasco is a great music theater and venue to see your favorite bands play. 5/5 stars for sound/venue, atmosphere, staffing, and security. Definitely would love to check out another show here soon. read more

Came here for the first time to see The Hives on November 15, 2023. They played a sensational show! The atmosphere was electric and a bulk of the crowd was really cool and moving the entire show. It was a great experience to say the least. As for the venue itself, it was generally clean and nice to be in. The architecture and layout of the Belasco is unique and one of the nicer venues I've been to in DTLA. My only gripe would have to be the fact that the stage is seemingly low and closer to the ground as opposed to elevated. It made it a little difficult to see the band clearly and it gets even harder to do so when people move in front of you. Other than that, I liked coming here and would definitely come see a show again, but probably get closer to the front :) read more

I've lived in SoCal over 15 years but this was my first visit to the Belasco. I came this past Friday to see the LOX and it was a dope show. The views from the standing room were great and I was able to go down pretty close to the stage and get some good footage. They have several bars throughout so getting a drink was easy and convenient. I tipped well so the bartender treated me very well and they even have an outside area where you can go "smoke". The venue was small and intimate which is my preference when going to a concert so I will definitely be returning for shows in the future. read more

As someone who hates crowds and loathes concerts, I enjoyed the show I saw at the Belasco (Orbital in December 2018). It's a smaller, intimate space, and the concertgoers had plenty of room on the floor without me feeling like people were standing on top of us. We had no issues with the line times or finding a spot with good visibility. I couldn't come here again (I can no longer stand on concrete for more than 5 minutes, and there was no seating), but I have no complaints about my experience in 2018. read more

Put simply I was completely disappointed by the security and honestly shocked at the lack of care for the crowds safety. I went to The Wonder Years show last night, and during one of the opening bands set there was man going way too hard in the pit. Before I continue let me say that I have been to over 200 concerts in the past 5 or so years about 80-90% of them being pop punk and/or hardcore shows so mosh pit etiquette and culture is not new to me whatsoever. During this opening band, Knuckle Puck, who mind you is a very easy going pop punk band, there was a man targeting people, crowd-killing, drop kicking women in the face, pushing people to the floor by there face, etc. Again, there is a time and place for some of this sort of moshing, but Knuckle Puck is not the band for this level of pitting and no one else was at that level so it was very clear that that was not the vibe or expectation others were wanting to engage in. Let me also mention that again I go to a lot of shows and this is not the first time I have seen him and had similar issues with him being a safety concern. I pushed myself all the way up to barricade from the pit during the first song just to alert security of what was happening and he looked at me with the most blank stare and nothing was done. I made my way back to the pit and tried to ignore the mans behavior. After not even a full song, I had gotten hit in the back and head by him, but again I know stuff like that happens and I was only phase because that is not the type of pitting that was happening in the pit. Again, not even a full song later he had attacked a guy punching him in the face multiple times til he fell and even ended up hitting a younger guy so hard in the mouth/face that he slammed to the floor unconscious. Once we finally got security's attention and got the kid to medics one of the security leads or heads of security IDK, named Robert came into the pit. We tried to let him know what was happening, and instead of removing him he told me and another woman that "that's just moshing and we don't know what's happening" he refused to remove the man and instead decided to stay in the put to watch him for 5 MINUTES and surprise surprise the man chilled out.... Until Robert left the pit. We ended up running into Robert again and he was very rude and extremely dismissive and still not understanding with complete disregard for the safety of those in the pit. Needless to say, most of the security team was very unhelpful and the man stayed the entire show. I genuinely cannot believe the complete disregard for upholding standards and safety at this venue and the disregard for those attempting to keep the pit and the show a safe space. All I have to say is next time check the damn cameras.... I'm really hoping no good bands play the Belasco anytime soon because the security was terrible. Shoutout Robert!! Horrible experience. I bought 6 tickets in December for my friends who were coming in from out of town. I paid the $900 extra for us to get a VIP table. We were coming for my favorite artist, Regina Spektor. My card was charged after I spoke to Quincy and gave him my card info over the phone. He called me back 3 times in a row to ask for the same card information. I suspected they were disorganized at this point but saw the charge so knew the charge went through. Fast forward to the night of the show. I read online she goes on at 8:30pm, we go to dinner in DTLA and then spend about 30 minutes looking for parking. I get a call and a voicemail saying our table is ready when we get there. He also sent an email asking if we were still coming. I immediately called back and nobody answered and I emailed back and told him to please make sure to hold the table because we were coming. We get there and they sold the table right from under us!! At first they blamed us for "being late" at 8:30pm. She was just going on. I said I thought paying $900 for the table meant we had the table for the whole night! Their tone was not apologetic and it was clear they messed up and didn't know what to do. They weren't apologetic at all and I asked why and then he said he was sorry he didn't have more of an "apologetic tone". They claimed they didn't hold the table because the card didn't go through but I showed them the charge on my account. When I told him I had just called him he said he "wasn't by the phone". I was shocked, they gave us some drink tickets but I was so upset I wanted to get out of there. They ruined our entire night. I had to email the following day asking for a refund on the original tickets as well in which they said they would "check with the box office". I am still shocked they didn't offer anything to make amends. They just refunded my tickets but the entire night was ruined. I missed an important birthday party because I had these tickets so I will absolutely never be going to this venue again. I didn't have the food here, but I had the drinks! IF YOU GET ANY DRINK, get it from Harrison! She made sure I enjoyed my drink and did great service! The ambiance here is SUPER spacious and roomy! I went up to the balcony to see my FAV artist, Jeff BERNAT and he DID AMAZING! The ambiance was great and everyone around me and my party and I enjoyed it! read more

Why the heck isn't there any free water at this venue?? It should be illegal not to have free water options for drinking. Vs being forced to spend $7 per can of water. read more
