The Triple Berry Pie with ice cream
    Nick S.

On the road from Longview to Wauna, the eateries are few and far between. This diner style restaurant is truly unique, and while there aren't many other options, this one is actually a great choice. The menu has a variety of entrees, sandwiches, salads, sides, and desserts to choose from. The exterior has great signage, and you can find a 24hr pie vending machine out front. The interior is cozy, with that typical diner feel. Half of the space is a shop where you can take home frozen meals, buy candles, jams, and a variety of other things Our waiter was very friendly and helpful. She walked us through some favorites, and explained a couple other dishes The Rueben looked less than impressive when it arrived, but I must say it was once of the best tasting Rueben's I've ever had. And the pies... are a must try. Some tips: Definitely order a slice of pie. There are roughly 10 flavors to choose from and you can add cream or ice cream (a-la-mode). Try one of the many Marion berry offerings. This is a local berry similar to the blackberry, and you can order pies, lemonades, shakes, and there's even a Marion berry mustard on the table to enjoy. Visit the shop and take home some frozen meals for later like pot pie. Cheers!!

    The view across the road.

I went there for breakfast and it was good. Nice service. Good food. I really liked the Marionberry mustard.

My daughter has a tradition to stop here on every trip to the Oregon Coast. I hit this stretch of the drive after they closed and her heart was breaking. They do close early. Thankfully they have a vending machine with fresh pies! Appreciate the amazing creativity as it's always time for pie! Recommend the mixed berry or some of the marionberry options. I haven't been inside but the vending machine is relatively easy to use and pies were around $7/slice.

Stopped by the famous berry patch restaurant. Walked into a nice restaurant with a great gift area selling all sorts of Marion Berry products. My husband had a traditional egg breakfast and I had a smaller plate. Eggs were delicious, bacon nice and thick and crispy the ham juicy the gravy delicious, the servers were friendly and the service was quick. we loved the breakfast and recommended

We stopped by for some pie and loved the Marionberry crème, lemon crème and especially the coconut crème. It didn't last long enough to take a picture. Delicious!!

A must-stop in Westport, The Berry Patch is a regionally-well known place that deserves every accolade for their delicious food and berry jams and pies. WOW totally worth the detour!! Service is fast, friendly, and very practiced - you can tell the folks who work here have been here for a while. :) I had the Turkey sandwich on sourdough with cranberry sauce and cream cheese. It was the perfect summer sandwich: cool and refreshing, light and crunchy from fresh lettuce and tangy with ripe tomatoes. I chose potato salad instead of fries or slaw - it was very good mustard potato salad. We enjoyed the local history and learning about the marionberry - a created blackberry hybrid that tastes delicious and was developed right here in Oregon. 5 Berrylicious stars!!

    Pie oh my!

We only stopped for pie, so I can't say much about the rest of the menu, but I can tell you the service was quick! If you like Coconut Cream, you *need* to stop and get a slice! It's done right from top to bottom. Cute little place with whole pies and other goods to purchase.

You order at the counter. Since it's my bday trip, the hubs and I walked the Astoria Riverfront trail and then were ready for breakfast. We ordered Danish Bloody Marys but I guess not that many people order alcohol at 9 on a Friday, so they only had aquavit as an option. Maybe the best Bloody Mary I've ever had! Love the caraway flavor! The hubs ordered the ham crepe and I ordered the Swedish hash with mushrooms. Meals come out when they're ready (would def rather have hot!) and apparently they made the wrong meal for me, so mine took a while. But they apologized, communicated well and brought me a second Bloody Mary, so who could be upset?? The ham crepe was divine! The mustard sauce, textures and flavors were incredible! The hash would be more for someone who likes more basic meals. Although, the sherry in the mushrooms and the beets made it a bit more interesting. You MUST try Bröder!

That's why I've decided to stop hurting myself and go to the Chalkboard Cafe instead. The difference in quality of ingredients and cooking is apparent in the first bite. It really is a bit jarring. This restaurant makes everything from scratch, and I mean everything. Yesterday my son and I got two burgers and our potato salad and coleslaw sides were like sides my mother would make in her kitchen, not globs of shelf stable Reser's food-paste that were made two states over a month ago and sprayed with mortuary chemicals to stop their decay. The food at the Chalkboard is real food, not fake food, which brings me to my next point, dietary restrictions. If I had any dietary restrictions whatsoever, gluten sensitivity in particular, this would be where I would go for breakfast or lunch in Seaside. Chalkboard has gluten free biscuits and gravy available, delicious GF naan bread made by hand, and gluten free versions of popular bakery goods made in their small kitchen from scratch. Even if you don't have restrictions you can be assured that your meal will have 80% less total ingredients just based on the restaurant's ethics alone. They aren't taking shortcuts, they aren't bringing junk into the building in the first place, so junk never ends up on your plate. The service is stellar, the ambiance is charming and clean. Lots of things... * Staff is REMARKABLY friendly and personable * They are equally attentive and professional * The patrons were awesome, seriously. I came here alone, and no fewer than three people, each in completely different parties, approached and engaged me in conversation. This seemed like a bunch of regulars who welcome newcomers as family. The menu is much larger than expected for a bar. I opted for the pulled pork sliders, and they were FAR better than expected. The rolls were the most surprising part, they were fantastic! I don't know if they're baked on-site, but they're definitely not typical "get the job done" fare, they were superb. "Slider" also seemed to be a bit misleading because they're so generously stuffed with pork and cole slaw that they're closer to a full-sized sandwich. Prices belie the quality and portion sizes (much lower prices than I'd expect). The only minor gripe is that there are not a lot of good seats for seeing bands perform. The bar area is narrow and long, which doesn't lend itself well to seeing performances, but I was still able to do so, and the friendliness of the staff and other patrons (again, AMAZING surprise) really seemed to make up for this.
