This place lives up the hype and reviews left by other yelpers. The food is not only placed and presented well but tastes so good. Such buttery pancakes that are not to fluffy to stuff you quickly but not to light that they don't capture the flavor. My wife and I ordered the Chilaquiles and the green sauce was spot on with so much zest and flavor you won't be disappointed. Finally, the servers were very busy but were checking and inquiring so often for things it was a very nice establishment. read more

First visit back in quite some time. Covid conditions, obviously. We returned to discover it is as excellent as ever. The host greeted us immediately and welcomed us back. How great to be remembered after all this time? We were seated immediately, server was there in less than a minute, and food was out within 10 minutes of our order. My wife had huevos rancheros with custom preparation requests and they came out better than she could have hoped. She was in hog heaven, so to speak. I ordered the huevos a La Mexicana and they were delicious as well. Corn tortillas we're as thin and light as flour tortillas. Homemade salsa was flavorful and spicy, pairing well with both dishes. We're now taking off at happy butts out of here with the expectation we will be returning soon. We highly recommend this place. read more

We didn't have breakfast but we order 3 Philly cheese sandwiches. The sandwich meat was over cooked and the grilled peppers were good because they used red peppers. The French fries were soggy and not crispy. They business was busy but l know never to order anything but breakfast there. read more

Aptly named, this restaurant's excellent food and wonderful service will definitely leave an impression on your mind. They've got so many options, from rich, hearty Chile Colorado to much lighter fare. There's something for everyone no matter what the mood is! My husband and I began our meal with fresh cups of coffee ($3.95 each). He ordered the Cancun Omelette with hash browns and rye toast (bacon, cheese, green chile, and sour cream $17.50), which was heavily stuffed with the goods! It was very fresh and incredibly flavorful! There was lots of bacon bits and the green chile was definitely an interested, delicious addition. I bellied up with the Chile Colorado and Eggs (two eggs and tender beef smothered in roasted tomato sauce, refried beans, potatoes, corn or flour tortillas, topped with sour cream, $16.95). This dish is RICH & HEAVY. I'm not sure where they buy their eggs, but their definition of "two" eggs is more like four. The beef was phenomenally seasoned and packed with flavor and beautifully tender. The sauce was delicious, I wanted it smothered on the eggs and hash browns. To add to the praise, it was very authentic, tasted very reminiscent of what I've had before homemade using ancho and guajillo chiles. Wowza, there was no way I was going to finish this dish. Good thing it saves well! To top off our amazing breakfast, we ordered Cinnamon Roll French Toast ($16.95) to-go. This one was a miss. Maybe it would have been much better if it wasn't sitting in a covered container for 2 hours before we ate it. It didn't look very appealing, nothing like the images shared by other patrons online. What I saw was a ginormous cinnamon roll toasted and drenched in syrup and frosting with cinnamon dusted over the top. Not what we got at all. It was 3 sad, flat cakes sloppily placed in the box and way dusted. Did I see something else...??? If so, please let me know as the menu has no pics and I expected something very different. It still tasted fantastic, and came with plenty of maple syrup but no cream cheese frosting. I'd love to come back here! Despite the disappointing dessert, it was still a great meal! Who knew finding a Breakfast place on a Monday would be such a challenge? I was driving and our favorite place, Waypoint Cafe, was closed. Hubby found The Best Breakfast Cafe on Yelp and it was such a great surprise! The ambiance is classic diner with booths and lots of locals. The Service was both friendly and efficient- our waitress was clearly the hardest working person with lots of tables and authentic can do anything with a smile attitude! The food I have to say is 5 stars for the value, generous portion sizes and skill of preparation. We ordered 2 of the Chili Verde with eggs and hash browns and I ordered the Cancun Omelette with Ortega chili and bacon with the potatoes. Quality of the food is comparable to Waypoint & Pete's! Delicious place to stop by for breakfast/brunch! It was busy when we came but Diana our waitress was super friendly and attentive! Food didn't take too long to come out either. The Breakfast burrito with chorizo was super satisfying and filling. I could only finish half it but now I have dinner for later lol. WOW! The name fits! We were on vacation and we will come back to Oxnard JUST TO EAT HERE! Diana is a phenomenal server, the food was on point (AMAZING). The ambiance, staff, everything was fabulous. Our party had: Adult orders: *California omelet (+sausage +spinach). The ranchero sauce was fire. Soooo good. *Chile Verde Omelet (we are coming back for lunch just to try the Chile verde entree!) Service was great, and the atmosphere was also great. Food, not so much, had the chicken fried steak, eggs, hashbrowns, biscuit, and gravy. I have had better there in the past. Asked for hashbrowns crispy on both sides, and I did not get it that way. The excuse I got was that this is as crispy as we could get them. Very poor excuse or lousy cook. This was the best breakfast we had while on our trip. Food was solid, cooked well, and fresh. Portions were generous. Covid precautions were in place with everyone wearing masks and customers spaced far apart. Nice mix of classic American breakfast fare like standard omelette, pancakes and waffles also some Mexican classics like Chile verde, Chile Colorado, Chilaquiles, Huevos Mexicana and Huevos Rancheros. The service was the stand out here. Everyone was friendly and kind. I love the atmosphere and service here. The waiters and waitresses are so friendly! I've only come for breakfast in the early morning, so there's no wait at all. If you're hungry have the steak and eggs or the country fried steak with gravy. If you have a sweet tooth try the cinnamon roll French toast. read more

Okay the name- who doesn't love someone with this much confidence? Obviously it was enough to get us in the door. Three of us on a Tuesday morning got seated immediately but they were BUSY for a weekday at 10am. The wait staff was super kind and got our drinks and orders right away. We ordered the spinach omelette, del chef omelette, and the Chile verde omelette with added broccoli (gotta add a vegetable) all with hash browns and biscuits. The biscuits are SO FLUFFY. The hash browns perfectly crispy. The omelette stuffed. Really is likely the best breakfast (in the area). They filled our coffee and water consistently and the price point was great. Now this place was GOOOOD ! Which is HARD to come across on this side of town. After being here for a year my boyfriend and I discovered it the morning of his deployment which was disappointing because it's exactly what we were missing ! I've never had such horrible service & food preparation. The biscuit was hard as a rock the gravy was separated. The steak was burnt missing sausage food was so cold no cutlery. Needless to say will never will I spend over $50+ for horrible service & food. The manager sucks at his job with terrible attitude. Very busy Saturday morning and food got to our table in what I think it was 5 minutes after we ordered! Portions are huge and food is great. The server was really nice and helpful I ordered the spinach omelette and it was good My son ordered the chilaquiles rojos and was not impressed at all. The sauce looked like it was from a can. The taste was ok but nothing to rave about. Sorry to say. Also, usually we get asked how do we want the eggs cooked, I guess that wasn't an option here. We valet parked, walked in, and took a seat at an open table. After waiting about 10 minutes, a staff member finally approached us--not to welcome us, but to tell us we couldn't sit there and needed a reservation. What made the experience frustrating was that there were plenty of open tables throughout the restaurant, yet no effort was made to accommodate us or offer any alternative solution. We completely understand that restaurants have reservation policies, but hospitality matters. A simple greeting when we arrived, an explanation of the policy, or an attempt to help us find a way to dine there would have gone a long way. Instead, we felt unwelcome and dismissed. Unfortunately, based on this experience, we won't be returning.

The process was super easy and made the wait feel seamless. We were seated on the "outdoor" patio, which was absolutely delightful. It's covered, so it feels like you're inside, but it's still open-air and pup friendly, which we loved. They even have a pup menu and bring out little metal water bowls. Our doggo was living his best life. The menu is large with tons of options. We initially tried using the QR code (which is great because it includes photos), but ultimately asked for a paper menu, sometimes it's just easier to flip through. My husband ordered The California (eggs, bacon, and pancakes). This breakfast also comes with toast and your choice of potatoes. We upgraded to the chili cheese tots, thinking it was just a small upcharge from the standard side, and didn't realize until we got back to the hotel that we were charged $8 for them, which was a bit disappointing. That said, the tots were tasty (just eat them quickly because they cool off fast!). Then, on the morning of the trip, we weren't entirely sure where the lunches would actually appear. Tiny scavenger hunt energy. Thankfully, they were waiting for us at the ferry office, and we both immediately took the same relieved breath: "Excellent. We shall not perish on the island." The sandwiches themselves were genuinely delicious. I had the Caprese, my husband had the turkey baguette, and both were fresh, flavorful, and substantial enough to fuel actual adventure instead of just delaying hunger by 20 minutes. Each lunch box also came with chips, Fuji water, and a chocolate chip cookie that quietly stole the show. Soft, delicious, and exactly the kind of reward you want after hauling yourself around an island pretending you're far more athletic than you really are.
