I took my bike to the Bicycle Tree yesterday. Without belaboring the issue, here are my observations: 1. Kindness 2. Great price (below market) 3. Expert knowledge Kudos and gratitude in the order of appearance: 1. Russell, another customer who will be cycling from California to Florida in September. A kind soul and in my age bracket. 2. Gene, the technician who volunteers at the Bicycle Tree. A gentle and kind person. Much taller guy that I. Spent time to fix the flat tire for which I had taken my bike to the shop; but also fixed the gears and adjusted them. 3. Alex, an Asian-American gentleman who speaks Spanish. He was the shift manager. May the Bicycle Tree continue to prosper and attract good customers, such as Russell. And may good and decent folks, such as Gene, continue to volunteer there. Amazing staff everyone was very helpful, great budget friendly shop even with no bike experience they'll make sure you leave with new knowledge to fix your bike yourself the next time it breaks helped me fix my derailleur and chain on my mountain bike for around 20-30$ with used parts, another shop that recommended me to them told me he could replace it new but it'll cost about 120+ and told me to try stopping by at the bicycle tree to try getting it done cheaper and sure enough they did read more

Best bike shop ever. After being turned down from three bike shops in Huntington where I recently moved, decided to come back to the place that I knew would help me. I had all the parts so I just needed guidance on how to fix what I want. Conrad helped me, but not only did he fix the bike he showed me how to work on it so if wanted to myself, I could, which I have more confidence in doing so now. This place is a hidden gem!! I'm hesitant to post a review for fear it will start getting too crowded though either way I'd want to make sure it stays in business so please check it out! Paul and Conrad and staff are all amazingly friendly and knowledgeable! I went to pickup an affordable road bike and was able to snag a keeper for a very very affordable price. Their stock changes almost daily so you it may be best to call ahead and check if they have the type or frame size you are looking for. Adjustments/alterations are super affordable and done expertly. One of my favorite places to stop by! I've been working on rebuilding my first bike from practically just the frame. All of the volunteers and workers while I was there, especially Alex, are awesome! They're very accommodating and helpful, allowing me to stay for an egregious amount of time (sorry guys, haha) but I'm super grateful that they do! It does get busy in the shop, so if you're low on patience and time, this might not be the place for you. It's a learning and community space for everybody and takes a lot of hard work, but I love it here. Prices are kept very low for good quality parts! You'll be hard pressed to find new ones for things such as shifters and derailleurs, but 90% of the used parts are in good shape and may just need a little TLC. If you need help figuring out what's good and what isn't, volunteers and workers are there to help you out. It gets pretty busy shortly after opening on Saturdays (though I can't speak for the weekdays), but despite that, people are there to help you out if you need it. It's a great opportunity to observe other builds and people's work as well as trying out putting together your own by yourself as well. Access to nearly infinite tools and resources. Overall... hidden gem. I'd like to keep it that way in a bit of a gatekeeping way, but I also would love to see these guys blow up in popularity (even more so). Just make sure to keep your low prices, lol! read more

Failed miserably in trying to DIY fix a flat back tire on Jetson E-bike. Walked in and was welcomed in like a long lost friend. Ivan and Paul expertly guided (more like took over) me to a replaced back tire inner tube and put the wheel back on in less than 30 minutes. The value and cost is unreasonably fair and honest. Not only that but they were so nice and nonjudgmental. This establishment is a godsend and I walked out in disbelief and with a smile. Do not hesitate to bring in your bike and learn from these geniuses. I will be brining my traditional road bike in for tuning next week just cause. What a local small business treasure!!! read more

Great shop, found a great second hand bike for a good prize and the people were very helpful and even replaced a tire for me for free. The only downside for me was that I lost my headband there, but that was me being dumb while trying on helmets that didn't fit my large head :P. This place is badass. Most of you reading don't want to work on your own bike ...because it's a lot to learn if you're not experienced. So, those folks take it to the shop and PAY. Here's the in between for those who want repairs AND to learn how it's done. Jeff was the bomb. We did $100 worth of repairs for $36 and shot the shit for 2 hrs. Love my EMOJO RAM Sport E-Bike. Took it out for a ride. It was great, so much fun. 20 mph, 30 miles on a single charge (4 to 6 hours to charge). 20 x 4 in. Tires. 11 mile ride to Newport Beach / Huntington Beach from Santa Ana Ca. using the Santa Ana river Bike trail. Stoped by the Bicycle Tree in Santa Ana and got my tire tubes filled up with commercial grade tire sealant for $10 for all small hole stickers. Which I had already got 2?and that's why I went there. These guys are so awesome!! =) Came in here after having some trouble with my bike. Paul & Christopher here was so patient & helpful with fixing & teaching me so many different things about my bike. I learned so much today that i would have never known if I had to take it to an expensive bike shop & having someone fixing it for me. Yay! =) The people here not only help you with any problems that you have with your bicycle but they also teach you how to fix your bike & also answer all your questions about your bike. I had this guy help me before and I thought we got a long really well. He's pretty cold and basically tells me I have to fix it myself. This is a very unique place. They're a nonprofit that supports the community by providing lessons on building/repairing bikes and they even offer bikes on loan to people in need. They also have a lot of used bikes for sale. You can either buy one as-is and fix it up yourself or they'll do it for you for a price. Really even getting a fixed up used bike "out the door" with all working parts is worth it in my opinion. It's a lot of work. I bought a used Cannondale for about $50 and my wife fixed it up herself with Bicycle Tree's help. She paid for used parts and paid for their time. read more

I had been sent to The Bicycle Tree in Santa Ana, CA by the Salvation Army. I, Vincent (Spanish), was looking around the store on Saturday October 5th, 2019. Five minutes before the store was about to close I found a bike that I believed was perfect for me, a Jamis Eureka. I asked Paul and Mark if they would hold it for me, they both said yes and wrote a note to place on the bike. Another worker, Vince (Asian), saw the bike and yelled out, "Hey, that bike is worth $3,000.00!" Paul, and Mark, promised me the bike and asked for me to come back the next day Sunday at 1:00pm. I told them that I would. The next day Sunday, October 6th, 2019, when they opened the door I could not find my bike anywhere, so I asked Paul where it was he said that a customer had changed his mind, while another employee, Vince (Asian), told me that someone bought it. Someone is lying. One more thing, Paul treatment towards me was very bad, since like he said, "If I am from the Salvation Army I should accept whatever treatment comes my way." This is a really good bike shop super affordable they help you fix your bike. They also teach you how to fix your bike. Definitely worth coming here versus going anywhere else in Orange County. They got on my bike down and fix an added a new brake pad for under $25 and oiled my chain fixed my chain and it was very fast less than 30 min. I love this place thankful for it being here.
