Kendall, the woman server, was so nice! She provided good service and the food was great. She said it was her first weekend and I couldn't even tell(i mean she told us, so we knew, but we couldn't tell) also the water is so good

We love the big biscuit. No wait on weekdays. Chicken and waffle is amazing. Biscuits and gravy are consistently good. Omelette is big and flavorful. Service can be slow sometimes. Clean place, plenty of seating options

Great food. Good service. Amazing menu. Warm and friendly. Very cold outside so the hot chocolate really hit the spot. We had the Southern Sunrise French toast and the Red, White and Blue waffle.

This breakfast spot is super yummy and convenient for an early breakfast. They open at 6:30 which is when we arrived and there was hardly anyone there which equaled quick service. I can't say anything about how service would be when they are busy but when we were there the waitress was quick to help us and was very polite and friendly. The biscuits and gravy were so delicious. The place looks a little outdated but has some cool lighted signs inside that made the inside really cool. This is one of the only breakfast places in Lawrence KS but according to a friend we were visiting it is the best breakfast place in the area.

The food here is excellent with the only problem being that their portions are huge! Which means, you'll leave with an extra meal or need to be carted to your vehicle (not so bad!).

The corned beef hash was outstanding, crispy where it should be, tender where it counts, and clearly made by someone who actually cares. You can taste the effort. The scrambled eggs were perfectly cooked too. Now, about that "sourdough." I have to confess I'm a bit of a sourdough snob after spending time eating the real deal in San Francisco. This wasn't sourdough. It was good white bread wearing a fake mustache. That said, it was fresh, buttery, and the marmalade was absolutely delicious, so I still happily cleaned my plate. The coffee is self-serve and bottomless, which I actually like. If you're the type who enjoys topping off your own cup whenever you want, it's perfect. If getting up to refill your coffee feels like an Olympic event, you may disagree. Service was friendly, fast, and exactly what you hope for at a breakfast spot, attentive without hovering. We visited around 8:30 on a Saturday morning. Since it's a college town and summer break was in full swing, it wasn't busy at all. I'd expect it to be a much different story once students are back. Overall, I'd absolutely come back. Just one request for The Roost: either upgrade to real sourdough... or call it white bread. My inner bread critic will thank you.

This trip so far has been the extreme opposite. We came to the hotel at 12:30 hoping to be able to check in a little early. We stood at the front desk for almost five minutes before a woman came out and said, "do you need something"? She asked our name and said, "we have nothing available right now". We had hoped to change clothes and freshen up before a meeting with University of Kansas officials and a subsequent dinner with them. There is no school going on at KU as commencement was the previous week. There were only six cars in the hotel garage. We have never been treated so rudely by a hotel's front desk personnel. I also asked when the room might be available and was told 4:00. She made no effort to look anything up or accommodate us in any way. Very disappointing.

The room I stayed in had plaster and paint peeling off of the wall in the bathroom. It also just felt very sparse--no carpet, no rug. The bed was only half made. Other reviewers have mentioned odd noises at night, which I also experienced. The service at the restaurant is absolutely terrible. I waited about 50 minutes after ordering breakfast. My order included a cup of coffee. After about 25 minutes, the lone server came over and explained that she had many things to do before she'd get to the coffee order and could I just get some coffee from the lobby instead? What?? You're serving breakfast and you can't just pour me a cup of coffee?? I would never, ever go back to this hotel. It's truly terrible.

The decor throughout the restaurant makes a clear statement to all who come- this is a KU affair! The menu has selections that are on par with what you'd expect to find in Kansas- steak, pasta, and salads. I opted for the Chicken Caesar Salad-it was very good and just what was expected. I also ordered a spicy jalapeno margarita. I will refer to it as "spicy" because it really was not. They had a few specials for the evening as well. Everything sounded good! Our waitress was friendly and very prompt with our order, which was much appreciated. It was a good time. We only stayed for one cocktail but I would definitely go back to try some other delicious cocktails that I saw on the menu.

The restaurant itself is beautiful inside -- a cozy mix of rustic and modern that creates a really inviting atmosphere. Service started a little slow, though our waitress became more attentive once she came by. We mentioned it was our first visit, so I was a bit surprised there wasn't much guidance on the menu or any recommendations. At one point I asked about the two kinds of fries (I love fries!), and the explanation was simply that they were "fancy fries," without much detail on flavors or differences. We started with drinks and the Brussels sprouts appetizer. The sprouts were actually very good, with a nice balance in the sauce, and both the wine and sangria were refreshing. Unfortunately, dinner is where things went downhill. Our meals -- a steak and a gluten-free chicken sandwich -- took about 45 minutes to arrive, which felt long for relatively simple dishes. I had asked about the gluten-free bun since they can sometimes be dry, but didn't receive much insight beyond "it's gluten free," and sadly it was indeed very dry. The chicken itself lacked flavor, though the goat cheese cilantro sauce helped make it somewhat enjoyable. The fries looked homemade and delicious but arrived cold. The steak was cooked as requested, but it didn't have much flavor beyond the mushrooms on top. The broccoli side was tasty, and the potatoes were good, though it on a bed of Some kind of cheese sauce that wasn't quite to our liking. Overall, the space and gluten-free availability were promising, and the appetizers and drinks were enjoyable, but the food execution and service details didn't quite meet expectations for us this visit.

Chicken parm is not made w thigh meat anywhere! Seems like it was a way to use a 1.50 piece of chicken and .50 of grits and charge 38.00. Last night may 30 i ordered the chicken milanese w breast meat as you can see from my attachment from menu. Nope once again took a cut of the chicken and dark meat again and I hate dark meat. Cut it in half and showed waitress who went and talked to the kitchen. They said that when they butcher the chicken they sometimes get thigh meat w the breast???? What? Unbelievable that a manager didn't come to discuss but 35.00 bucks for thigh and arugula salad is robbery. She was kind enough to take off bill but still feel 715 is trying to pull one over again which might explain all the empty seats as well. Have shared this story w a few folks who have said it has gone downhill in the last several months. The prices you charge are over the top. Plenty of other places in town to eat like q39 where you can get a 3 meat platter w 2 sides and order of wings for the same price as 715's chicken thigh and arugula salad! Ok after this i am done. Here in mexico and ordered the chicken parm at the marriott and guess what cut of chicken they used? Breast just like 99% of the world except 715. They should be embarassed
