He got the Knockout and I got the French toast platter. Honestly, I could pass on the French toast because it did have an interesting spiced flavor to it that I wish I had known before getting because I ended up not finishing a toast. My boyfriend was also not a fan of the Buffalo sauce in his dish because it did overpower his meal. But because the knockout came with biscuits and gravy as well, I was able to try it and let me tell you that I will be coming back for just that next time. We came to see oir daughter while she is living in Lawrence, Kansas. Every time we visit, we got to the Bog Biscuit for breakfast. Once again, we had a fantastic breakfast! The only suggestion I have is that you habe a wonderful selection of pancake toppings but only offer maple syrup. I'm not a fan of maple syrup. Okay now.... I wanna preface this by saying that I was super skeptical about their "home cooked" claim... having said that, I was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the 2egg, pancakes (2x pancakes the size of the 9" plate), sausage patties and grits. I have zero complaints about the food or the service. We ate a Big Biscuit for breakfast when we were in Lawrence for a friend's retirement party. We had heard about it but had never tried it so we gave it a chance. When we got there the line was long and we almost left because of it but the hostess insured us it would be about 15 minutes. She was right and got us sat down and I am glad we stayed. Been here a couple times and don't have much negative to say or really overly impressive to say either. Pretty average breakfast by my account. Never leave hungry that's for sure. Bit on the pricey side but what isn't now a days? B&G definitely fantastic. Staff always friendly but management leaves something to be desired as they always seem very reluctant to lend a hand and help with a pre bus or drink orders or anything. Mainly see them huddled around a CPU behind the bar chatting with staff. The Big Biscuit is a solid choice for breakfast in Lawrence. The name also hints at portion sizes... you will get a LOT of food here. The restaurant is fairly large but during busy times you can expect a little bit of a wait. If you're not ok with a little wait time for a table, I suggest you avoid going to the Big Biscuit on weekend mornings. It's packed! I've also enjoyed everything I've ordered here. While the menu doesn't necessarily offer unique choices, all of the usual breakfast staples are available. I particularly like the omelettes and the (big) biscuits and gravy. The only thing that I wish was different about the Big Biscuit was the addition of a drink menu. Breakfast is always better with a drink in my opinion. The Big Biscuit does offer the usual hot coco, chocolate milk, juice and coffee. Sadly, no mimosas or Bloody Mary's are available. read more

We had such a disappointing experience. We had heard great things about the food here so we were really excited to try it this morning for breakfast. When we were sat the waitress was immediately rude and stand offish. She took out drink orders right away and then we never saw her again. We waited 20 minutes for our drinks until I finally asked a busboy and he brought them to us. We watched as our waitress avoided our table the entire time and never came back to take our order. We sat there for 45 minutes and then finally decided to leave and not order any food. We left cash on the table for our drinks and walked out.
