What a Gem of a restaurant. Got off work early and decided to give this place a try. I ordered the Jimmy which consists of one biscuit with gravy, potatoes and eggs. The biscuit are the star of the show. There big supper fluffy and fantastic. There not heavy like a lot of other biscuits I've had. The gravy is thick and rich with flavor and has a ample amount of sausage. Plenty of parking, very responsible prices, and a great staff. I ordered the Honey Money Sandwich which is the fried chicken breast covered in honey mustard with lettuce and a tomato with a side of French fries. The chicken breast was brine for 24 hours and breaded. The chicken was juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. The honey mustard was good and not too sweet. First time visitor, I am hooked! Ate on a Friday late morning, so no line or waiting, lucky us!! However, I've heard there can be a wait on weekends. They utilize the No Wait app, so use it and plan accordingly, if you plan on going. My GF and I shared the Big Breakfast consisting of 2 each of: eggs, bacon strips and sausage patties, along with breakfast potatoes or hash browns, we opted for the potatoes; an order of 2 biscuits and gravy. This rounds out this plentiful breakfast. And ............... we ordered cinnamon swirl pancakes to boot! Lots of food!! It's a breakfast place that gets slammed in the mornings on weekends and holidays. Here's the thing though - I know the situation, but this restaurant still seems to not grasp it. Got on the wait list for what was a 15-20 min wait. Arrived and was told it was going to be 30-40 minutes. I watched as people arrived and asked to sit outside and were seated with no wait. I watched as people arrived after me, got on the wait list, and were seated before me. I even saw a party of 3 get on the list after me, get seated, eat, and leave before me. After 50 minutes, the app said we were next in line for a table. Two more parties walked up and said they received texts their tables were ready. I asked the family waiting next to us how long they've waited and they said they had been waiting an hour. I asked the hostess where we were on the list and she said my party was next. The other family overheard us and asked why they were still waiting. The hostess told them they were next. I asked the hostess if that party was next then why did you tell me we were next? Great visit to the Big Biscuit! I had to run an errand in this part of town, and stopped here on a whim. It was a great choice! If you are looking for a filling breakfast at an affordable price, this is the place. The service was fantastic. It is clear that the manager runs a tight ship. Sorry to say this Lees Summit Big Bisquit has gone down hill. They no longer take phone orders on weekends so you are supposed to use the website. It only works about 40% of the time. They also have ruined their pancakes by switching to Mrs Butterworths syrup. They used to have Smuckers and the change has completely changed the taste of their pancakes not in a good way. read more

We love this place every time we come. I have been super apprehensive of places during Covid but they had the tables spread out, the staff was all wearing masks and it felt very safe. Disappointed. I am a big breakfast guy, and to me, biscuits and gravy are the prime rib of breakfast! That said, I had waited patiently for the new "Big Biscuit" to open in Lee's Summit. But just to be fair, I did wait a bit longer so that they could sort out in opening day issues. Maybe I should have waited a little longer. It is in the same strip mall as Johnny's Tavern and Price Chopper so it is easy to find. The location grants them great parking and the restaurant is large enough so that wait times should be short. Quantity! All the servings are large! Now that can be important for breakfast, so is quality. I ordered my favorite biscuits and gravy with hash browns. When it arrived I was surprised at how cold it was. Since our waited had gotten away before I could say anything, I had to run down another employee and point out that my meal had been served cold. A few minutes later yet another employee (maybe the manager) returned with a replacement meal. This time the gravy was warm and the hash browns were tepid. I was hungry so I went ahead and ate guessing that it was going to be futile to complain again. That was when I realized that the gravy lacked any serious flavor and loading it up with salt and pepper did not bring it to life! I did not look in the back but I have to believe that their gravy was from some generic mix and not made from scratch. While the prices appear reasonable, there is an air of indifference that hangs around the staff. And that indifference seems to have been absorbed by the food. The Big Biscuit brand enjoys a great reputation, but sadly I think we have an outlier here. People do fill the place, maybe it is a question of location, but for me I will go the extra mile and a half for my breakfasts catch the Egg & I on 291. read more
