Great meal choices for everyone that was in our group. Located near the University, gets a good mix of young and older clientele. We sat in the back garden where there are a number of picnic style wooden tables, most with umbrellas for shade. The garden is decorated with lovely plants and flowers and makes the space that much more pleasant. Dogs are welcome here. Our drinks came put first and the food did not take too long to follow. I ordered a breakfast burrito which easily shared with another person. The particularly liked that the burrito was not soggy and maintained its structure while I ate it. Everything that came out to the table was very well put together and nicely presented. The dishes and cups used were also uniquely picked. I ordered a chai latte and it was perfect, not too spicy. I'd definitely go back here again.

Every time I've been here I have been thoroughly unimpressed, and the fact the prices are not cheap only makes that so much worse. First off, I'll say that the servers are all usually very friendly (I have only praise for the waiters and waitresses) - but aside from that, I can't think of a single thing about this place that I could consider good or worthwhile in the slightest. Atmosphere: The front door is always wide open blowing in frigid, cold air - and often times there are DOGS in the restaurant. There is a difference between a service animal and a comfort/therapy animal - and I don't know about you but I'm beyond sick and tired of going into places where I'm eating food only to have to sit next to a smelly, hairy beast as I consume my food. I'm NOT paying top dollar for that. Anyway, perhaps I would take all of this and just deal with it... if the food were as good as the price suggests. But it's not. Which brings me to my next and final point. The food itself: Today was the last time I'll ever eat here. I will not even return if someone offers to pay for my meal. It's just not even worth the space in my stomach. Got my turkey club and it was, honestly... for lack of a better word: totally pathetic. Not only did they only squirt one tiny little dab of mayonnaise on each side of toast (so basically two little dots of mayo for the ENTIRE sandwich), but the turkey was all stacked in the middle. I had to take the sandwich apart and re-organize the contents of the whole thing before eating it, plus had to add mayo since there was basically NONE on it. Is that what you call a sandwich? Then the fries it came with were so soggy and gross they were absolutely inedible to me. I recommend the Wildflower Cafe or the Green Lily in Eureka for breakfast and lunch... Not the Big Blue. Ever. Good food, but refuse to eat here until they let go of an employee they have by the name of Ramsey. He has sexually assaulted multiple women without they're consent while they were under the influence. I unfortunately see him around town from time to time hitting on women of all ages when they clearly want to be left alone.This guy has no filter and, in my book, should be considered a dangerous predator. I realize the restaurant probably hires people based on work performance, however, I feel like if they haven't gotten weird or unusual vibes from him before, then that's they're deal to be reckoned with. I've heard that he's already been fired but am not 100% sure. If that's they case then just consider this a shout out of community awareness. read more

I get Karen's Potatoes every time, literally amazing every single time. The food is great, the staff is very friendly and amicable. I have had nothing but great service from all of the waitresses and waiters, they are always super sweet and friendly and the food comes out hot and fresh, never late. And regardless of how busy they get, they have plenty of seating - tables outside, tables inside with a view of the plaza, and tables in the back if you're not feeling very social. I'd give BB a 10/5 if I could! read more

The prices here are insane. We asked for a side of pico.... it was about 3oz and cost 3 dollars. My breakfast croissant sandwich was undercooked (saw the same exact review from a few days ago). The last 3 times I've been in, our server has been this young girl who I swear is stoned out of her mind. Never smiles, monotone voice, and had to return to our table numerous times because she could not remember our requests. All 5 people at our table were shocked and frankly annoyed. read more

Lexi was one of the worst waitresses I've every had in Humboldt County! Thanks for the horrible attitude that completely ruined our breakfast.
