I had it with the chicken last time and I didn't like it so I thought i would do chicken this time around. Over Priced is an understatement! The salad's already start at $10. You used to get certain toppings included. Now you only get one topping including from a small selection and the rest are .50¢ each. This doesn't sound like much but before you know it you have a small $17 salad. Yay! More new things in T-Town/Woodhaven! I'm a huge salad eater, so naturally I was really looking forward to trying this place out. My mom and I went during a weekday and brought my newborn son with us. We both ordered the first item we noticed on the menu--a salad made with spinach and crab meat, tossed with a wasabi-like dressing. I believe it was called "the Alaska." So let's break down how everything works here: First, you pick what you want. Next, your salad is built in front of you. Think about it like Subway but for salads. For my particular salad, everything was chopped except the crab, which was added on top at the end. Please note that the wasabi dressing has a KICK big time! My nose was definitely running while eating it, so you may want to sample it before trying. The one employee suggested this option and noted that it was strong. I appreciated the honesty. I happen to love hot and spicy food, and also love wasabi, so this was right up my alley. There are only two size options to chose from: Baby and Big (or large..something along those lines do don't quote me on it). The large is huge, so next time I will be ordering a baby. The drawbacks: the price and the chilly environment. I thought it was on the high end for a salad, over 9 dollars. Also, the ac was so cold. Im glad we brought blankets for the newborn because they were needed. One other thing I noticed is that some employees were a little unsure of how to make the salads. Mine turned out great, but maybe some additional training to help their knowledge and confidence would be a good idea. My mom enjoyed her salad as well. This is my latest Go To spot. I am following WW. A Chicken Caesar salad with Caesar Egg Dressing is delicious and 4 points!! (It also comes with bread which I usually don't eat at this meal.). I add beets to my order sometimes for 50 cents; absolutely love this salad and could enjoy it 3-4 times a week. Everything tastes so fresh here. Buy 2 items, i.e. soup & salad, get $1 off. Also, Planet Fitness members show their cards and get $1 off purchase. For the quality of food, I don't find The Big Salad pricey at all. Everything is top quality and fresh. Great new lunch spot. Had the build your own w/ balsamic dressing first time then had spicy chicken caesar today. Both were delicious. Staff was very helpful and let me try balsamic dressing before putting on my salad. Other reviews say it's pricey, but compared to a salad at Applebee's $12.99 or a Big Mac meal $8.00 , I think $7.99 for a healthier option lunch is not a big deal. I have been to this area before, but I never noticed this place. However today, I was ready for lunch at 11 but I wasn't feeling anything heavy or extremely unhealthy. So I stopped by The Big Salad! It was my first time here and the service was great, they answered questions we had and were patient with us. My boyfriend got the Asian Wrap and I got the Spicy Chicken Caesar and Avocado Wrap. I LOVED mine and he loved his. My wrap was different but it was perfect for my tastebuds as my boyfriend didn't like it. The price is well worth the portion and the flavor you get. The place was very clean and everything looked extremely fresh. I will definitely be back way more often to try more menu items! read more

I wanted to love this place. I really really did. It is clean on the inside and there is a nice array of salads / toppings to choose from. The first time I had a salad here something just didn't taste "right" about it to me. I thought maybe it was just because they chopped it too much and everything became mushed together. A couple of months later I tried it again, I got severely bad food poisoning from eating here. I don't know if they don't chill their ingredients enough or they are just tainted and old. OMG!!! A giant salad bar with every topping you can imagine. Pricy, but SSOOOOO good. The lettuce is always fresh, the topping selection is insane, like 10 different kinds of dressings, smoothies, beverages, everything! I stop in here every so often after my work out & get a large salad (about $10) & I can literally eat it for lunch & dinner. You pay by the bowl, not the oz (like some yougart places) so a $10 Salas that provides 2 meals doesn't seem too bad to me, but Lower prices would have made this a 5 star review. Try it! Came in with my grandson and they have only 1 highchair which was being used and them the manager told us he would try n get one next door so we waited about 10 min. and then noticed he came back n just started working and never came and told me he couldn't get one. As a huge fan of Snappy Salads and Salatas in Texas, I was excited when I found out that Woodhaven would be getting something similar. I finally got to visit this evening and sad to say that my experience was disappointing. I dragged my cousin out with me this evening to finally try it out. We walked in and were the only two inside. We continued over to the end to start building our salads. As we walked over, a lady walked from the register over to where 2 other employees were standing on the end, behind the counter. When we finally reached the starting point we both stood there waiting. As we were waiting, standing DIRECTLY in front of the 3 employees (1 older lady and 2 younger girls), they continued to talk. We stood there long enough for them to clearly see we were ready. For a second I thought we were invisible. I spoke up and asked if this is where we begin to make our salads. They continued to talk. I excused myself and asked again when finally, one of them decided to acknowledge us! No one apologized and seemed bothered to have to make our salads. I should've left right then and there. I can say that I won't be going back, at least to this location. read more

Went there today as I have seen the Grand opening sign in the shopping center and waited for the hype to die down. As I arrived at the order counter I was ignored as another poster mentioned, an employee was being trained and I get that but a hello would have gone a long way. I ordered the large cobb salad, which I expected to be a traditional cobb salad as served at (Marie Callenders) years ago not mixed up a as tossed salad. Shame on me for not noticing avocado in the salad???? For what I paid I got one serving of salad dressing with way too much oil and not enough vinegar and was asked if I wanted a single roll with no butter to go with it. I'm so glad they opened a new Woodhaven location! I used to go out of my way to eat there when out near Twelve Oaks in Novi, but now I can just as easily run for a quick dinner after work. Waited at the counter for over 5 minutes while EVERY staff member walked past my boyfriend and me, when we were standing there ready to order. Several of them looked us in the eye but continued to mess around with other staff members & not even acknowledge our existence. Even the oldest staff member (who I assume was the manger) looked directly at us standing there & continued walking! Since this was our first time here I finally asked one the girls if we were standing in the right spot to order & she said yes....... confused on why if we were standing there for five minutes in an empty restaurant why no one had helped us yet but ok!
