    Snacker wings
    Christina S.

I will start by saying the hostess was super nice and friendly. Our waiter not as much he was okay but he kept getting stuff wrong I'm assuming he probably just had a long day. The food on the other hand wasn't good at all the snackers were the only thing that was decent. The fried chicken was cold and dry. The fries weren't good at all I just remembered everything from years back being better. The snackers wings were so dry and overcooked and the flavor from the snackers do not go on chicken they should stick to making Olga's because chicken isn't there forte. The ambiance is pretty basic nothing spectacular. Overall I wouldn't go back I did not enjoy this experience at all.

    Pita and hummus appetizer

It's been awhile since I ate at an Olga's Kitchen. First I have to say, that the price is not worth what I get for the food. The menu has changed since I ate here last. Same great taste but my sandwich had less meat and onions in it. Salad changed as well, now its a mixed leaf salad instead of just iceberg. Ridiculous price for a hummus and pita appetizer! Not many people sit down in the restaurant, don't know if it was a weekday or just a few hours after the noon lunch crowd. I guess I'll wait a while before going back...maybe something will change.

I worked at Olga's off and on for 9 years back in the 90s. I now live in California and crave Olga's food all the time. I stumbled upon Gold Belly who ships Olga's nationwide. I ordered and received my order quickly! Food was fresh and absolutely delicious!... just like I remembered it. The Original Olga's and Snackers were easy to cook and put together (per the directions). The food was packaged so nicely too. I'm so grateful you're willing to ship your food because it made me and my family very happy! Thank you!

I visited this Olga's location yesterday! I believe this restaurant is newer in this location in Allen Park. It is on nice a lo-key actually, on the "Hill". I think it's in a great spot, Bc there are so many stores surrounding the restaurant to shop at. I usually order the Perfect Pair, and that's what I ordered yesterday. With the half size Classic Olga and seasoned curly fries. Plus a small cup of Broccoli soup. And of course, extra snackers! I love the snackers! And when I went to check in on Yelp, there was a free dessert offer. So I ordered the Birmingham Brownie. Everything was really good! Food and service! So I definitely will return to this specific location in the future to dine again.

I paid $4 for this amount of fries wtf Zucchini Fries I will not be tricked by this bs anymore #SCAMARTISTS

So beautiful, bountiful, nutritious, and delicious. We chose grilled vegetables instead of the rice or noodles( less carbs). Lamb, chicken, beef and vegetables. Yummy. The fries were surprisingly good. We also enjoyed the red spicy garlic sauce. The service was not great. Our weirdly cheerful server, Oksana, was serving multiple tables, and was quite busy -- we had to flag her down to get our bill after she visited our neighboring table THREE times without checking in on us. All this while three young bearded stood behind the counter watching the dining room but doing little but scroll on their phones and talk to each other. Another three bearded young men, apparently cooks, sat in a back corner table on their phones... one of them wore black (latex?) gloves and continued to wipe his nose, lips, and forehead! Not good.

There's a parking garage in the rear and plenty of spots. I did enter through the rear of the establishment since I parked there. The menu is pretty extensive. Ended up getting the half order of hummus. A basket of warm pita and two sauces came out. I initially thought that was the pita. This was complimentary I believe. The garlic sauce is solid. The other one is a spicy sauce of some sort. This spicy one was super good. The hummus came out. Very smooth and flavorful. For my entree, I got the Shish Kafta. You can choose between lamb or chicken. I went with the chicken with a side of rice and my choice of soup or salad. I opted for the lentil soup. That came out piping hot. This was delicious. Flavorful and good texture. My entree came out and wow. The portion is way more than what you pay for. Came with 4 very huge blocks of chicken kefta. Nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. Had a nice char on the outside, but still juicy on the inside. I used the two sauces from earlier to give it an extra kick. I washed it all down with a mint lemonade. This was absolutely refreshing. Clean place, very good food and the customer service was solid.

Ordered carry out. crushed lentil bowl, chicken kafta, two sides: small hummus, small baba ghanouj, large fattoush salad with no pita. $38.13 Food takes about 15 minutes to be ready. Drove all the way back to the office. My chicken kafta looks to be lamb, not at all what I ordered. My large fattoush is covered in pita chips. Had to spend several minutes getting every pita chip out of the salad. It's good I am not allergic to gluten. They shove the dressing packet in the corner of the salad, so you get a bit less, that and the pita chips. Other than that, the salad was fine. I am quite disappointed the order is not right! The crushed lentil soup has a lot of rice in it, which is just filler to me. Has some clumps of something, may be rice and starch? It's too inconvenient to drive all the way back. Do be sure to check your carry out order before you leave the place. The crushed lentil is quite bland, not much flavor to it. Tastes some fennel, quite a few clumps of starch. The soup is more rice than lentil. I could count on one hand how many traces of lentil was in my bowl of soup. What in the world? My husband ate the lamb kafta, since I don't eat red meat. He said it was so-so, but rather dry.

Kind of surprised they don't get more business given how good the food is here. We got the restaurant week $40 special which basically came with a $40 Combo for Two + a $6 Spicy Potatoes. The combo comes with a variety of items. Pita - Their bake their pita for longer than most other places, resulting in a permanent puff that doesn't flatten. It almost resembles a crusty bread roll. The exterior has a somewhat hard crust but the inside still is moist from steam and retains some of the signature soft and tender pita texture. Toum - Some of the best toum I've had. Very strong garlic flavor, doesn't seem to have much, if any, filler. More of a paste rather than a gel/mayo consistency. A very slight green color like they didn't take out the garlic shoots. It looked like there was maybe a touch of black pepper, but I couldn't taste it. Hummus - Not much I can say except that this is a very good hummus. I think they use a little more tahini than other places. Salad - Very lightly dressed mix of crisp romaine lettuce, red cabbage, cucumbers, onion, and tomato. It's a pretty standard salad you get at most Dearborn Middle Eastern restaurants. Similar to a fattoush but without the fried pita. Main Platter with Rice and Fries, 2x Kafta, 1x Chicken Kabob, 1x Shish Kabob, Deboned/Boneless Chicken, Chicken and Meat Shawarma, various Grilled Veggies - The rice didn't have any almonds or vermicelli but was fluffy and well seasoned. The kabobs were grilled to perfection. The boneless chicken was actually some of the best chicken I have ever had - inside was moist and juicy, outside had the perfect grilled crisp. Kafta was pretty standard. The only real weakness of this platter was the shawarma. Alnawras does not specialize in shawarma and you can tell - both were quite dry and the taste wasn't there. You can get much better shawarma at many other places in Dearborn. The veggies were standard-grilled carrot slices, bell pepper and zucchini. Spicy Potatoes - Lightly fried potatoes with parsley and red pepper flakes and doused with a vinegary hot sauce (Tabasco?). The addition of hot sauce is kind of strange to be honest and really dampens the crispy edge of the fried potato. The potatoes were chopped into all sorts of different sizes, resulting in uneven cooking. I'm not sure if this was special for restaurant week as the menu has a photo of this dish and it looks totally different. Tap water is available at no charge (I only mention this because a lot of the mom and pop restaurants around here only offer bottled water).

I remember visiting the first time a couple of years ago after reading the reviews stating the restaurant was inside the liquor store and being confused when I couldn't find it. Instead, they had just moved right next door in a newly renovated building. To be honest, I find that the restaurant interior here is bland and soulless but luckily the food here doesn't match the surroundings. During that initial visit, I did not like the food. I ordered the Meat and Chicken Shawarma Sandwiches and found that the meat in both were exceptionally dry and tough. If I had been on Yelp back then, it would likely have ended up as a 2 or 3 star. I went again recently for lunch to give it another chance, getting the same items again. The food arrived within 5 minutes or so after ordering. Meat Shawarma Sandwich ($6.75) - This was totally different from my previous visit. The meat was tender and flavorful, not mushy and not dry. There was a great balance of ingredients, with the meat, veggies, and tahini mixing together to create the perfect bite. The veggies were super fresh, with tomato, parsley, and crunchy and aromatic onions. The tahini added a good nuttiness. Overall the sandwich had a good amount of moisture but not enough to cause anything to go soggy. Chicken Shawarma Sandwich ($6.75) - Again this had great construction and balance of ingredients. The pickles were nice and crunchy with some sour acidity. The chicken was not the juiciest, but definitely not dry, and had a bit of a nice charred flavor. The garlic was solid and added a nice complementary pungency. The ingredients were distributed pretty evenly, resulting in a piece of each component in each bite. Side notes: Both sandwiches weighed between 7 and 8 ounces, which I think might be a bit on the smaller side. I am also not certain if the shawarma is shaved off the spit here. In & Out Shawarma improved so much this trip that I will definitely be going back in the future.

Knowing about the history of Dearborn I was ready to put the shawarma to the test and am glad I did. The restaurant is located in a strip mall but the inside is newly decorated with ample space inside to dine in. We ordered the shawarma sandwich (mixed), side of hummus, falafel sandwich, and salad. I took the first bite of the sandwich and had to pass it around to everyone at the table because it would be an injustice for them not to try it. One of the dishes came with a side of garlic sauce that is so potent it will make your mouth burn. Honestly, that is the perfect level of garlic for me. In regards to freshness, everything is made in front of you. You can tell they know how to prepare their meat as everything is super juicy and dripping with flavor. In fact, the only negative to this place is that they need bigger napkins. You will go through a bunch just wiping your face and hands. This is a meal that I will be thinking about for a long time.
