I went with a group of ladies today for lunch and had an incredible meal and time. I would say I have very few "favorite" restaurants, The Till in Colorado Springs is one, this Bistro is now my other! The food is fresh, very unique, and delicious with reasonable prices. The service was fast and friendly, and the owner came by our table a few times. He is a hoot! Great all around experience which is rare these days. This was, hands down the best anniversary dinner we have ever had (17 years). Robie was not only attentive but incredibly accommodating and thoughtful with every single extra special touch, we have never had a server so intent on creating a celebration for us, amazing! Chef Vito is truly an artist he was precise and inventive creating special dishes that matched our dietary needs, not only did he adjust the ingredients but he deliciously curated an entire meal that just knocked our socks off! We bought two appetizers and one entree to share between 3 people. No one got a drink, and our bill total was $52. The appetizers were tiny, as was the entree. It was very over priced for not a lot of food. The entree we got was the lobster ravioli and we could barely taste any lobster. Also, my mother in law is gluten free and the waiter was not helpful in finding her a good meal. When she asked, he said "pretty much anything", but then as she asked about specific dishes she wanted it turned out most things weren't gluten free. The food here is excellent. I've enjoyed all the menu items I've ordered. The people I've brought with me have also enjoyed their meals. The scenery sitting out on the patio is nice. Eating indoors is a quaint little space and cozy. The place gets packed during peak hours so making reservations makes getting a table easier. The staff is friendly and the place looks clean. This is one of my fave spots in Monument. There's a cool outdoor patio area for drinks in the evening as well. read more

The restaurant was easy to find but a bit confusing as to where the entrance was. The staff was friendly and greeted me promptly. The setting is very intimate and quaint; perfect for a nice meal with friends. They had a lovely drink and lunch menu that even provided for a vegetarian. My friend and I both enjoyed our meals. This restaurant is an amazing find! We absolutely loved it. Food is fabulous, I had the special seared scallops on a bed of crab quinoa. It was out of this world! My husband had the chicken piccata and it was fabulous as well. We highly recommend this adorable restaurant in a house. This is a great little place - quaint vibe as it seems to be a house transitioned into a restaurant so small rooms with only a few tables each. Very nice outdoor patio area for summer months. Menu on the pricier side, but everything sounded delicious (hard to choose) and everyone at our table enjoyed what they ordered! Visiting from LA and went to this lovely restaurant in a large home with friends. It was a wonderful evening. Great vanilla martini. Friends had Moshin Pinot noir which was smooth. Shared different appetizers which were very good like the tuna tar tar, sautéed shrimp, and the salad. The ono dinner with miso sauce and grains was delicious. Key lime pie and chocolate dessert were great. Service was perfect. Would come back ! Perfect for date night, nice dinner or special occasion. read more

Love this jewel in Historic downtown Monument! An old historic house renovated with separate smaller rooms makes for a great place to meet up and have quiet conversation. Wonderful menu with something for every palate and budget. Upstairs has a large table for family or other groups. Their soups change on a regular basis and their Chicken Piccata served over garlicky mashed potatoes and freshly sautéed spinach is made to order and the best I have ever had! read more

We tried this place on Friday, 12/22/17. We were really enjoying everything until the manager/owner (I'm not sure exactly who he was.) started yelling at an employee. We heard him berating an employee and cursing. This would have been bad enough, but then we heard the manager/owner yelling at another employee. All this was very unsettling. If this is how they treat their employees when customers can hear, I can't image how they're treated in private. We will not be back. read more

Cute place. Cozy converted house to eatery. Food was tasty. The staff was friendly. We had drinks, and the flavors were a bit much, I didn't like mine, the taste was overpowering. The apps were very yummy and the main courses were ample portions, I loved the mashed potatoes the most and I am not a potato fan - but these were like mom made. Not bad for a Saturday afternoon. We had lunch at the Bistro today and ordered the Chicken Pot Pie and Chicken Picada. In the pot pie there were multiple unidentifiable black objects, and in the chicken Picada there was an inch and half by inch piece of oily paper (probably a butter wrapper). When we showed the black pieces to the waitress, she said she'd ask the cook what it was but never did. I try to write thoughtful, helpful reviews rather than simply using superlative expressions for the bad or good points. I will try to do that with this review. We visited here on a Saturday for lunch. I had the brie bites appetizer and the macaroni and cheese with coffee. Husband had a sandwich..turkey/cranberry. We are well traveled baby boomers who have been to numerous cooking schools ( long and short courses) and have eaten in some superb places around the world. I am comparing this to other bistro type experiences, not the French Laundry in wine country. The positives: 1. We were greeted in a friendly manner and service was friendly and efficient. 2. The brie bite appetizer was delicious. Presentation was artistic. 3. Although we didn't have wine, the wine list looked good for a small establishment. We have visited a number of the featured vineyards and know their products to be good. 4. Portion sizes were more than adequate. I actually took some home, but I am a smallish person. Room for improvement: 1. My mac and cheese was creamy, but a little bland and barely lukewarm. It should've been hotter. 2. The cranberry was superb in the appetizer plate, but somewhat overwhelmed the other flavors in the sandwich. 3. I would've preferred breadcrumbs/panko to "toasted cornflakes" but this is a matter of personal taste. The great selection of cheeses used in this entre merit a more "gourmet" topping. (My opinion) 4. The meal overall was a bit rushed. I wanted more of a slow food experience. Maybe I've just spent too much time in Europe? The place is definitely worth another try and since we live in Woodmoor, it's nice to have it as an option. read more

Unbelievably rude service. We were seated in the upper level, where the bedroom was renovated into a 10x10 ft stark white cell (as a dining room). Cold air blasted on our backs from a vent. Others in the room also complained of the cold as we moved downstairs to seek another, warmer table. The restaurant was about half empty so I asked to be reseated. The hostess would not make eye contact and said she was booked up. The waiter appeared and told us to put our water down and get out. I was shocked at his quick temper and wondered what we had done to offend him. I've never been so rudely treated and humiliated. Racism still exists in Monument Colorado read more

This has become my favorite place to go for casual or special occasions. Located in Monument which is a short 15 minute drive from North Colorado Springs. Easy to find and the setting is relaxing and cozy. Last night took out of town guests for dinner. Able to get reservations quickly. Had the sea bass last night. My husband has the stuffed portobello mushrooms. Both were delicious. For desert try the Bananas Foster you won't be disappointed. read more

I was excited to eat here on Easter, as my parents raved about it. I was disappointed. My mom got prime rib. It was very good. The dessert was also very good. My trout was SO dry and overcooked. The vegetables were so overcooked and tough, we couldn't cut into them...the potatoes were...you guessed it! Overcooked. Not impressed. For the money we spent, not likely to go back. So sad, as I had heard good things about this restaurant. Also, there was a kitchen staff member passed out on the chairs around the outside fire pit! Definitely not professional! We visited Bistro on 2nd for the first time early Thanksgiving week. I'd be hard pressed to say the experience was much better than average. Among five of us, the best entree was the bison meat loaf. The lobster mac and cheese lacked distinctive flavor. The filet was well prepared with a tasty sweet bacon glaze, but the sides were very, very unremarkable; bland pasta and below average Brussels sprouts, and the presentation surprisingly unimaginative. I don't mind paying a premium, but seasoned patrons would definitely agree this was definitely nowhere near what you would expect for a forty-buck entree! The service was adequate but inexperienced. Wine selection fair. All in all, B on 2 was okay but WAY overpriced for the food, atmosphere and dining experience. WORST experience EVER! As soon as we entered I saw a young man tossing a salad bowl with his hands after he wiped his nose! Then salad bowl was delivered in a cart to make a 'fancy' presentation. The. We got sat upstairs by the stairs where people constantly walked by and bumped us. The table cloth was dirty and we asked to have it change. When our order arrived our food was COLD - not lukewarm, but plain cold. Whoever cooked my pork does not know what pounding means and the why you don't over cook fish. I asked immediately to have my food boxed so I could feed it to my dog (seriously)... well my dog not even liked it either!!! They ended up not charging us for my plate and apologized. Not coming back and will not recommend. Such a shame as the setting is quite nice. read more

By far one of the nicest restaurants I've been to. My fiancé brought me here for my birthday dinner. We ordered the buffalo mac and cheese. It was the most amazing mac and cheese I've ever had and I'm not the mac and cheese type. Our server was excellent and made sure to check up on us when we needed her. The music that was playing was great as it set a relaxed vintage feel. The fact that you can see the mountains in the background really makes for the perfect romantic place for dinner. I recommend this place based on delicious food, excellent service, and a relaxed romantic atmosphere. read more

Little gem in Monument! Great food, beautiful ambiance! Will definitely return soon....owner came out and chatted with every table, ensuring things were to our liking. My Mom had the lemon pie the day before and asked if she could get it again. The owner went out of his way and actually brought her key lime pie, which is her favorite. (Added a little note saying "call me" in raspberry sauce on the plate.) Super friendly guy and not only knew his food, but obviously knew how to work a crowd. So my sister and I traveled to Colorado Springs and read about the Bistro online. So we drove on up to Monument. We sat on the patio and enjoyed the lights, cool breeze and view of the mountains. We had the charcuterie appetizer which was too die for! Especially loved the cranberry with with grilled pita. Our entree of filet mignon and salmon was heavenly along with a nice glass of wine. Wait staff was pleasant and helpful. We liked it so much that we ended up having dinner there one more time as well as Sunday Brunch. Never disappointed! The hubs and I just moved to Monument and celebrated our inaugural evening with a date at Bistro on 2nd. The prices caught us off guard a bit (it is Monument after all), but we were pleased with our selection. Baked Brie for start, chicken piccata for main. Both were quite tasty. The patio area and ambiance are lovely, especially on a warm evening. I think they could revamp the decor slightly to make it more cohesive, and I would recommend painting the bar area (maybe a rich navy blue to better hide the dinge and better contrast with the crisp white dining areas?). read more

So this place used to be the cutest little tea house until it shut down. With it being a restaurant now, my mom and I have it a shot. Food was over priced and wasn't the best( I had vegetarian lasagna). Service was spotty with the waitress having an attitude of "could care less". I'm all for giving places a second shot, but this time I'm not so sure. read more
