Just left this place, my bf made RSVP at 10 and we got here kind of early so we walked around a bit, they did sit us at 10, wasn't quiet as we expected but it was very cute and lights were dimmed, didn't take pics because they ask not to use flash, when we got there a man was playing the piano , we ordered artichoke dip , for drinks the "don't trust the living which was good and cucumbery" and "two sizes two small" was VERY STRONG! My only complaint was that the pita bread was burnt like I had a hard time enjoying the dip like cmon how can you serve that ??? , but I was soo hungry i just ate it. When we arrived, we didn't see a host, so we stepped inside--only to be abruptly told by the bartender to wait outside. The hostess eventually appeared and greeted us with an unfriendly attitude. Although we were dressed nicely and respectfully, she gave us a rushed explanation of the rules and told us we could stay until 8 PM due to upcoming reservations. We had just eaten elsewhere and simply wanted to try their well-known drinks. It seemed like that annoyed her. Despite the place being nearly empty at 7 PM, she seated us at the worst spot at the bar. We weren't loud, drunk, or bothering anyone--we were simply sitting, enjoying our drinks, and chatting quietly. Still, before 7:30, the bill was brought to us without us asking, and it felt like we were being subtly rushed out. When I reminded her she had said we could stay until 8 PM, she brushed it off, saying they had reservations. The whole experience felt not just rude, but discriminatory. I've never been treated like that in an establishment before. If you're a person of color or from a diverse background, just be mindful. I haven't been to The Blind Rabbit since before Covid so I wanted to see if the drinks were still excellent. The reservation process was easy and it wasn't as hard to secure a reservation as before, which is a good thing. I ordered the Tren Al Sur and my friend ordered the I Knew You Were Trouble. Both drinks were well balanced and well made. I preferred mine as I'm a big fan of La Luna Mezcal. The bartender informed me that particular Mezcal was made specifically for The Blind Rabbit. I recall the bartender saying it was infused with Rabbit breast. Unique and interesting for sure. We were offered two samples to taste and it was pretty smooth. Back to my drink, it was well balanced and anytime you there is milk punch, I have to try it. It did not disappoint and neither did the Blind Rabbit. Staff is horribly rude here. I walked in with my family excited to try some food and drinks and loved the overall ambiance of this speakeasy. No where did we see that we needed a reservation or anything we when we looked up this place online. We walked into the establishment through the hidden door, sat down, and were immediately met by one of the male bartenders working today (Saturday at 2pm). He LOUDLY told us that for future reference we shouldn't just walk in if we don't see the host at the podium because they don't need people "meandering about". Mind you, we walked right past the host because the podium was not marked so we assumed it was for the shabu place next door. Couldn't believe the disrespect we were met with because of a genuine mistake. We took our business down to BXCR instead, also in the Anaheim Packing House, and were treated much better there so glad it worked out that way and our money was spent in the right place. 0/10 do not recommend The Blind Rabbit. read more

Our reservation was 5 PM, you wait at the podium, and the hostess comes out promptly at 5 PM to check you in. They are very serious about carding, so be prepared to bring your ID even if you are 60 years old. Amazing ambiance in this place. It's on the downstairs level when you enter in quite the speakeasy style through a barrel wall to a New Orleans type dimly lit bar. I had been here once before, it's situated reasonably close to the hospital. Just about 15 minutes north of Uci pretty near Disneyland parks. Parking is not very easy although there is street parking nearby you have to circle to find it and there's valet available in a pinch. read more

We were fortunate enough to get a last minute reservation last Saturday for The Blind Rabbit. I'd recommend making reservations ahead of time, especially for a Saturday. Our reservation was at noon, when they first opened, and we were the first ones into the establishment that day. The greeting that we got once inside was friendly and welcoming. Yes, the ambiance is dark, but the lighting is warm, and it feels like a true speakeasy. Once you enter, you forget you're in an establishment within the Anaheim Packing House. The drinks we got were amazing. For afternoon cocktails, they didn't skimp on the alcohol. I got Becoming the Memory, while the rest of my party had the Lonely Day and the New Boot Goofin'. Everybody was impressed the flavors and enjoyed their drinks. We were hungry and decided to try their food, so we ordered the Short Rib, Steak Frites, Short Rib Gyoza, and fried olives. The food was surprisingly delicious! I don't think I'd get the fried olives again, though, because the olives didn't have a strong flavor. It was a good, quick pop in your mouth kind of snack while drinking though. Overall, it was great to try the food there because we've didn't do so the first time we visited The Blind Rabbit. However, it's very pricey, so next time I think we'll eat somewhere in the Packing House and then have drinks only at The Blind Rabbit. I feel like this place hasn't ever bounced back to pre pandemic quality, or perhaps it's because they've changed ownership since then, but their cocktails aren't quite as good anymore. My friend and I both ordered 2 cocktails each and they weren't quite as good as they used to be. Our first round was either too spirit-forward or too sweet-forward, our second round was then too watery and too bitters forward: a well balanced cocktail was not had. With that said, their food was actually really good still. I had a mac and cheese dish that was really flavorful and had a good cheese pull. The service was fine enough. We were seated at the bar and the bartender never checked up on us, but that's completely understandable as she was also the one making the drinks, so I can't fault her on that. Of course, the ambience will always be great. The novelty of walking through whiskey barrels into a hidden bar will still always be there and the dim lighting does always set the tone for the roaring twenties. Overall: I'm not sure I would recommend it to repeat visitors (especially if you remember pre-pandemic quality), but it's still a really cool place to go! read more

Absolutely wonderful! Had been wanting to go to this speakeasy forever, finally had a chance last night - was impressed by the attentive service, cozy dark ambiance, and delicious drinks/food! Our group of 6 (the max # I think) ordered the mi chiquitita (ube drink), green beast absinthe (surprisingly tasty!), prince of a thousand enemies (comes with a really cool mug), and uninvited guest. The food was also really solid - fish and chips, potato cakes, and finished off with bread pudding - very good, honestly better than most typical bar food. Second time here. We came specifically for the Beetlejuice decor this time. Loved the environment the first time and second time around was just as great. I had the Dead Man's Party drink (which is named I'm sure after the Oingo Boingo song since Danny Elfman made the Beetlejuice music), and it was a rum-filled delicious drink. My lady had the Dante's Inferno Room drink which was just as tasty; easy to drink and mixed well. There was also another drink named Just Another Day that I'm sure is another Oingo Boingo reference but I can't be sure. For food, we tried the Bavette Steak Frites (CHIMICHURRI * DUCK FAT POTATOES GREEN PEPPERCORN AIOLI) and for it being first time trying, yes, it was amazing, but with a base cost of $34 I am like ooh, that's steep for a plebe like me but I mean you should know what you're getting into when going to a nice place like this. read more

What he made lavender, lemon, gin, and something smoky I couldn't quite place was exactly that. We talked about everything and nothing for over an hour, letting the night stretch itself out. No rush. I checked in and they took a bit to seat us upon entering the place itself is very very crowded and small. Of course it should be small because it's a speak easy but this made you feel almost claustrophobic. The drinks are ok, you're paying $20+ for a cube of ice and a tad bit of alcohol. The food itself wasn't great. The appetizer we got took a while to come out since it comes from a kitchen they share with another's establishment on the second floor. We got the short rib gyoza which was soggy. Cool decor but definitely not worth the hassle of getting a reservation, the loud obnoxious people in there, and overpriced drinks and bad food. read more

I had to go with the short ribs......Amazing! If your like me and love short ribs, the best I've found in the Anaheim area. Unfortunately, they only release reservations a few weeks at a time & as soon as my desired date was available, it was already fully booked. Since we were staying in the area, we decided to see if they would take walk ins. Unfortunately, the hostess said that they were fully booked for the night. I was super bummed & was ready to walk away but decided to ask if I could put my name down in case there was a cancellation. Fortunately, she said if we came back in an hour, she could take us in before the next resy came in. Score! We had dinner at their neighboring restaurant & waited until we got a text. The space is super neat! It is dimly lit, they had a piano player in the corner, & cozy. We went in February so their drink menu was love themed. I recommend getting something from their seasonal menu & their regular menu so you can taste the best of both worlds. They make their cocktails delicious & strong. Probably my favorite speakeasy, this place is small and laid back and the cocktails are among the best i've ever had. The staff is always welcoming and helpful in suggesting drinks based on our preferances. The bartenders are amazing!! Their skills are showcased in the perfectly crafted drinks, with each one unique and refeshing. Rare to find speakeasies in the OC; but this spot actually doesn't disappoint. It's located in the Anaheim Packing house and you're able to make RSVP through Yelp. They did a great job of capturing a prohibition era vibe with a great ambience. It's dim lit with jazz music playing. Each rsvp allows up to 90 minutes. Food and drinks are both served here. I really enjoy their appetizers/small bites such as the short rib gyoza and potato cakes. I will say I wasn't too impressed with the espresso martini. Coffee liquor is used instead as the ingredient, but the server was transparent about that before ordering. Service was great!! Tip: make sure you order things 15 min before your rsvp time ends, so that the kitchen and bartender has enough time to prepare the items.
