We got there at 5:25 for a 5:30 reservation and the door was locked. So we stood out in the cold until they unlocked it right at 5:30 - Weird. Interior is quite dated. We sat upstairs and somehow that decor was worse. French onion soup was probably the best thing we had and it was pretty average. Gnudi and mushrooms were both pretty bland and too buttery. Lamb was cooked well and was tender but had a shake and bake thing going on that seemed cheap. Also whatever puree they served it in was terrible. The jalapeno mint jelly is awful. Duck breast wasn't cooked great - Fat was really rubbery and Currants and grapes were strange accompaniments. Had heard the lamb was great here but the place is just soooo AVERAGE. Not worth the price. Will not return. read more

Live entertainment, we were seated next to a fun group of locals, fantastic attentive service, delicious dinner! My elk entree was tender, flavorful and cooked perfectly! I requested the sauce of the side and I enjoyed it's smoky flavor with bits of bacon and mushroom. Kudos to the cooks. Great sides! My nephew thoroughly enjoyed the lamb chops that our waiter said was a favorite of many patrons. We had a fabulous Mother's Day dinner last night. I love restaurants that appear to be located in an old house, and this was no exception. We were seated downstairs and I prefer this to the upstairs seating, definitely more ambiance. The acoustic guitar sounds of Marco Soliz were much enjoyed. We kept guessing the old rock classics that he was playing, oh so subtlety. We started with the stuffed mushrooms, yum! We both had the elk tenderloin and it did not disappoint! Served with mashed potatoes and asparagus, I finished the whole thing. My knife slicing through the elk like butter. Then, just because it was Mother's Day, and we both happened to be mothers, we split a Mud Pie for dessert. One of my favorites! Again, delicious! The service was great too. Lamb was the best, but barely seasoned besides the crust. Beef tenderloin was basically raw, elk was also more raw and also burnt. The trout was kind of bland. Scrumptious! Get the lobster and shrimp scampi. Awesome friendly service. Henry our server was really friendly and always attentive to our needs. A woman named Yinnie was awesome and THERE with the water refills. I split the halibut and scampi with my sis. I'd definitely recommend there scampi. The scampi has delicious lobster and shrimp. The best part is the creamy, buttery sauce over everything. Holy smooth. So smooth. The halibut was good too because it has a crunchy top and tasty tartar sauce. The brown rice and steamed broccoli were nice sides. I prefer the scampi tho. Speaking of sides, my blue cheese salad that came with my meal was delectable. Great lettuce leaves and nice pecans or some kind of nut. The restaurant was a little cold, but other than that, it felt cozy and intimate - like a Swiss chateau! read more

We weren't overwhelmed by the service and definitely did not appreciate our table on the second floor that was tucked in a corner next to a stairwell. I would say give it a try but preview where they see you before you accept the table. They take reservations and require you to give them your credit card when you make the reservation. Came here for dinner on our last night in Jackson Hole and it did not disappoint! Service: 5/5, I called a few hours ahead and they got us a reservation booked right away. Our water glasses were never empty and the complimentary bread came right away. The main dishes did take a while to come out but worth the wait and time to digest the bread and appetizers. Ambience: 5/5, cozy, dim-lit vibes in this wooden, two-story cottage style house perfect for either a romantic dinner for two or an intimate group dinner over nice conversation without loud music/chatter/etc. Food: 4/5, bread was slightly cold. 3/5 - grilled wasabi elk, the wasabi and seaweed salad combo with elk is not a favorite, with the former overpowering any taste of elk. Would go for the stuffed mushrooms over this. 4/5 - duck cakes, a little dry and can't taste the duck all too much. 5/5 - main dishes (rack of lamb and tenderloins) served with seasonal veggies (cinnamon/nutmeg roasted butternut squash) and potatoes - yum and cooked just right! If you're hungry but not too hungry, skip the appetizers and go straight for the entrees! read more

Cozy and comfortable, this intimate restaurant is exceptional. The service was so accommodating, many special needs and requests handled with grace. The food was simply delicious. Their famed rack of lamb lived up to the hype. The corn soup was delicious and the trout spread simply devine. For dessert we were concerned about caffeine so our waiter brought us a scrumptious, light macerated raspberries on a mixture of sour and sweet cream. To die for. This place was def a nice surprise after a long day of travel and wandering through Yellowstone. We finally made it into Jackson only to find that so many places were closed or full. Luckily we were able to get a late reservation at Blue Lion. We got there half and hour early and hung out in the Lounge with a drink (which was fantastic). We shared the lamb chops and added the trout which was a great mix combo and very filling. Everything was cooked to perfection. We had great service. There was also some live music while we were there and so we got to enjoy the ambiance and nice weather in the outside patio. read more

We had the elk and seaweed salad appetizer and I really enjoyed that. We didn't really enjoy the salmon, the house salad or the bread. Everyone around us ordered the gigantic rack of lamb but we just weren't hungry enough to go that route and they have a plate sharing charge. Server said the same exact robotic script to every table that was wedged right next Ti us, which is fine but makes for an odd experience. I'd say this place is worth a visit if you're in the mood for a $60 rack of lamb so we'll come back hungry and try again next time. read more

Overwhelmingly disappointing. All the food was acidic -lacking balance. The gnocchi over cooked, the famous lamb rank lacking any substantive flavor but smothered in bread crumbs. Brought in a bottle of wine -the waiter turned it upside down into a decanter (we had to request the decanter), and then did not pour the wine once throughout the evening. The experience was rather disappointing. We made a reservation for dinner one night by calling the restaurant directly as they are not on OpenTable or any other reservation service. I was told by the hostess that if we get seated by 6 PM that we would get 20% off of our bill which is sort of like their "happy hour "special. We got there around 5:45 PM and was able to get a small table. The restaurant is not very big so reservations are highly recommended. Because we had a very late lunch on the mountain we decided to get an appetizer and then an entrée to share. Our waiter asked us if we wanted to split a plate and of course given the option we said yes. Only later to find out it was a $12 charge. That was not communicated to us when we place the order it showed up on our bill and when I asked our waiter about it he said that he didn't want to embarrass us while we were ordering. Huh? The food was decent but I honestly prefer the food over at the gun barrel. The prices here is about 20% more expensive. After the meal when we got our bill not only did we see the extra $12 charge, they also didn't take off the 20% discount like they promised. When I approached the hostess about it she gave me major attitude and dirty looks before reluctantly change the bill. And when I asked them about the extra split charge they refuse to take it off and after going back-and-forth a couple of times they only took $4 off. Talk about bait and switch scheme. I would not recommend this place at all due to the dishonesty of it's business conduct. read more

What a fabulous find in Jackson, WY. This little gem is in the middle A cowboy tourist town. It's in a sweet little house with multiple dining Rooms. We were greeted and advised there would be a short wait. Speaking of cowboys there was one in the bar playing a guitar and Singing sweet ballads. We enjoyed a glass of wine and were soon seated. We started with a fabulous green salad with blue cheese and candied Pecans. Next shared an outstanding rack of lamb, four chops each, Perfect medium rare. Met a sweet couple from The Netherlands Enjoyed two glasses of Frangelica and a little more music for A perfect night. read more
