Holiday after-party friends
Cathy W.

I've been coming to The Blue Room since I reached legal drinking age, and it's always been a fun, reliable neighborhood bar. Over 20 years later, I still make it a point to stop in with friends whenever I'm in town. It has now become a tradition that after the LA RIMS holiday party, our group heads down the hill from Castaway to The Blue Room. The cash-only bar is always festively decorated, and the bartenders are fast and friendly. The music is enjoyable without being too loud, making it easy to have conversations. The Blue Room serves drinks only--no food--so plan accordingly. If you're looking for darts or a pool table, you won't find them here, but the atmosphere and consistent quality more than make up for it. For smokers, there's an outdoor patio available.

I came here as a part of my friend's birthday bar crawl and the vibes were immaculate! There are big booth for larger groups, smaller tables, and an outside patio. It was pretty crowded when we went but the bartenders were attentive and made sure everyone was taken care of. The bartender who helped us was really friendly and talkative and we had a great time chatting with him! The bar is cash only but they do have an ATM in case you forget. Everything is reasonably priced and nice and strong. I tried an AMF because my friend ordered me one and it was exactly what I expected from an AMF--strong, sweet, and gnarly enough to mess me up. I had a great time and would love to come back!

I've been wanting to come to this place for years. But somehow I just never got around to it. I finally made it out this past Saturday. This place has everything I love in a bar ! Cozy booths, touch tunes "jukebox", friendly staff and great drinks. It was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Twinkly colorful lights everywhere. Whoever is in charge of decorations to do fantastic job! Note: This bar is CASH ONLY. If you don't have cash, don't worry. There is an ATM . But I advise to come with cash so that you don't have to pay the extra atm fee . You're also allowed to bring in outside food which I think is very convenient. The parking lot is small. We parked across the street at The habit and just walked over. No biggie.

Open early! Grab a quick drink before going through IKEA . We got 6 drinks for $53 (before tipping) which was a crazy deal! Ambiance is really cool too so we killed time the right way.

What a cute little spot!! The Halloween decorations were amazing! Great ambiance, owners were there, and they were a super fun!

Fantastic celebration goin' on tonight: it's the keyboardist Herman Jackson's birthday. What a turnout of patrons, friends and fellow musicians. Tonight's vocals and instrumentation was at another level. You could feel the electricity vibing in the air: mesmerizing, soul stirring, introspective, jubilant. Herman and his band were a tremendous musical vortex tonight: jazz classics, bossa nova, R&B. Dayuuum it was sho' am good tonight.

ate a habit burger here on tuesday jazz nights. vibe was immaculate i think i start to understand jazz now. beer menu but you can ask for any cocktail, my lemon drop was 12 dollars. wahoo

They should call this place The Aqua Room. It's a cool ivy covered building with actual parking and some neat vintage furniture inside. But that is where it ends. The cocktails they advertise on the sign are lackluster. The music is trite. The patrons are D-list all the way. I'm not sure what ownership is aiming for, but it's either got to be a dive or a snazzy cocktail joint with actual great cocktails and a waitstaff that actually takes showers. Like it is today - it's a relic on life support. Aqua is a shade of blue, I know. But aqua seats and pleather is a little much. Makes me want to puke up my poorly made cocktail.

This is a little secret place in Burbank called The Blue Room. Little cozy bar. You can bring in food and no drinks. The service is fabulous. John was fabulous and willing to share the story of The Blue Room. Jazz every Tuesday. This is a fun place. You must give this place a try if you visit Burbank.

Ask the Community - The Blue Room

Is there dancing?

It's a pretty small bar so there's not much room to dance. I supposed you could dance at your table with your group but there's not much dancing.

Yelp says this place has live music. True? if so, what kind? Who’s the booker?

I don't know about the other days but Tuesday night a little bit after nine or 930 is when you wanna be there. They have amazing musicians that are in the local industry and I'm sure you've heard them on many major albums and soundtracks.

Is this club 18 and over?

This is not a club, it's a bar. 21+

Do you really open at 10am? Is day-drinking an okay thing here? Wheeeee!

there are cars in the parking lot 24 hours a day! what i really mean is... if they happen to like you, you get "specially" "picked" to stay wayyyy passed closing time! Wheee!!! who knows what kinda awesome things are happening in this place... it…

Can u medicate in here?

No but they don't care if you walk around in the parking lot.

With the seemingly ever-changing landscape along Brand Blvd. in downtown Glendale, this establishment has been around since 2012 (which I believe was the first and only time I came here). Primarily known for its inventive craft cocktails and a killer whiskey selection, it was a nice place to sneak away into before or after your main event... or, maybe this could be the place to spend an entire evening. Would this bar famously make an impression on me to remember to return in the future!? After a few minutes of reviewing the menu, we each placed our order at the bar, our drinks were delivered quickly while the food took mere minutes to arrive at the table. We had to approach the bar each time we ordered something, but any empty glasses and plates were collected at the table. Once we closed out our tabs, we were thanked for coming as we headed out into the night. Everything was chill and easy - thank you! PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance): I parked in the nearby original Glendale Galleria parking structure and simply walked over first to The Americana then to this place. Otherwise, there was limited parking along the main drag of Brand Blvd. and other surrounding side streets, the nearby Glendale Galleria II parking structure, The Americana parking structure that offered validation, numerous public transportation options, and rideshares - 'nuff said! ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A dark cavernous speakeasy-like place with open space, various tables and couches strewn about, and a large long somewhat decorative bar with an impressive whiskey selection displayed behind it. I appreciated the exposed brick walls which gave it that old-time feel with a few framed pictures hung on them. Minimal natural lighting came through the front doors and windows while minimal electric ceiling lights filled in rest. There was at least one projection TV where we watched the Dodgers game while music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=SomLKsk1KVcemeOCHGOZfg ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... Echoing what everyone else has been saying - the service is SO slow. It was about 45 minutes before we were able to order our second drink and our water glasses were empty. They have so many runners bringing the drinks out but only a few servers and, from the looks of it, one bartender (on a Saturday night - what?!). The server was saying he was trying to find a manager to help out but they were nowhere to be found. Clearly management is fine with these service times since they're still making $$$. The drinks were delicious, and I loved that there were heaters on the patio (though they did get very hot at times). Our server was so kind and brought us a celebratory drink. I do wish there were more explanations with the beverages, especially for the Paid Vacation as most people will not realize you're supposed to bite into the buzz button for the tingly sensation. I would come back, but need some time for my wallet to recover first, haha!

The cake was first brought out with a candle, then taken to the back, sliced, and returned piled on top of each other, placed on the table with tongs for us to serve ourselves. For a paid birthday event, this felt careless and unprofessional. There was a clear lack of food and service. The salads and meat were cleared by 10:30 PM, leaving our table bare, and the beef BBQ was so dry I could barely bite into it. We were told to expect a DJ and live music, but there was no DJ. The live music did not even start until 8:30 PM. Between the few live songs, elevator-style background music was played, which you couldn't dance to. Most of the time you were just sitting and waiting for the next song. In total, there were only a handful of songs the entire night, from about 8:30 PM until 11:30 PM. Then all music was completely shut down by 12:00 AM while there were still guests in attendance. This felt extremely unprofessional and cut our celebration short. The alcohol service was handled very poorly as well. I personally supplied the alcohol to the restaurant, yet only two bottles were placed on our table initially. The rest was kept to the side, and throughout the night the men at our table were asking for alcohol and felt they were expected to tip servers just to have their shots refilled. (Over $250 in tips server collected from my guests) This was uncomfortable and completely inappropriate. For the price I paid, the lack of food, lack of service, and especially the poor handling of music and alcohol made this a very poor experience. I even asked the venue employee would music be back on and they said oh yes long as there are guests music doesn't stop! But it clearly did. I would not recommend this venue for an important celebration. Party ended at 12am on a Friday night.

Polo made a great suggestion to try the knafeh dessert, which nearly melted in my mouth. It was yummy and will definitely be ordered by me, again.
