Worst "boil" I have ever had. Would avoid this place unless u just want a beer. The bar seemed pretty capable. But I would not ever eat here again. Was later told by a local that they had multiple violations with food services. Just my opinion. Oh and the boil was 65 dollars and no bag. Lol read more

I've only been here twice for lunch but recommend it. The server was friendly and helpful and the food was good ! I had the Philly (chicken version) and a side salad. We will definitely return in the future to try the dinner menu. read more

We have been to Boil Yard many times and never had a bad meal or bad service, Jenn has always been very fun as our waitress and very good, Jenn and the great food is the reason we go back. I recommend the Boil Yard any time of the day or week, you won't be disappointed. Besides the entrees the side salad is awesome, best around. read more

Four of us went here for Father's Day lunch today. Took about 20 minutes to get our drinks. We placed our order. 40 minutes later, we got one appetizer. They brought the oysters and realized it was a wrong order And took it away. Tables around us got their meals and we were still waiting for the oysters, never mind our meals! I was a bit disappointed with the menu. Maybe I was being moody. But, it just felt like there was some variety lacking. I at the cheeseburger and I must sing it's praises. The wait staff was wonderful as well. I'm interested in actually trying a boil, but no one wanted to try it with me. So, maybe next time. The atmosphere is ok. The music was completely entertaining l: from Milli Vanilli to System of A Down. I wouldn't scratch this spot off the options list and maybe you'll find something you love. read more

We visited this restaurant on Memorial Day because of the amazing reviews. The reviews were far from the awful experience we had. Although the server did the best she could under the circumstances, we waited 45 minutes before we could place our order and another hour before we got our appetizer. The Cajun boiled peanuts were DISAPPOINTING. The lobster roll bread tasted weeks old and the lobster was not fresh. I had the lobster roll and split the shrimp po boy wrap which was also unsatisfying. There was one server on and she was extremely overwhelmed. We felt bad for her, being in the industry ourselves. There is a decent beer selection, local crafts on tap - yum. Had oysters on the half - meh. The oysters from the same plate had very different flavors and neither had much brine, almost tap water taste, like they were rinsed. Some oysters were - and hard to explain with oysters - almost bitter. Definitely weren't "off" but were not pleasant and a completely different taste than others on the same plate. Tried the wings which were standard as wings go, but fit the sports bar area well. For entrees we had the Dirty Rice and Lobster Flat Bread. Lobster Flat Bread was more sauce which overpowered the bread and lobster, all you could taste was the sauce - surprising as the Dirty Rice was lacking in flavor. Maybe I should qualify; when I think Dirty Rice I am think NOLA Dirty Rice, this lacking in flavor almost to a point where a toddler would eat it because it was bland. We liked the vibe of the place, worth another visit as there are things on the menu that were tempting. Hoping for some better flavors the next time. Current thoughts are, as a "Seafood" restaurant there are better choices nearby. As a Sports Bar, have a beer and some appetizers type of place, yeah its worth a stop during happy hour for sure. read more

This was my first time here and the food was great. The spinach and artichoke dip was delicious and I was glad they were able to cook the ahi tuna to order. Not all places do it properly and I was very happy they were able to. The prices were also reasonable. Our server Megan was able to answer all our questions and priced excellent service. read more

Recently moved to area and have been to boil yard a few times now. The food is always excellent, The service we have received from different servers such as Melissa, Cassidy, Bianca has been exceptional. Most of all love how the owners really engage with there customers and genuinely care for there restaurant. Sitting and observing from the bar you can tell all the locals are like family.. always see everyone laughing and having a great time.. Being new to area and being treated like family by the staff and owners really set this place above the rest. Love all the entertainment they have different nights of the week. Just the felling like home when you are there is worth it all. Thanks boil yard and keep it up! read more

The food was okay. The service poor. The martinis had no olives. The appetizers had no plates to eat them on. We had to ask for forks and knives to eat them..and yet no plates. We visited on a Sunday evening and sat in the bar area. There were 2 people at the bar that were clearly Over Served (Kristy and Mike ). Mike was yelling and every third word was the "N" word. His wife Kristy came over, sat down at our table uninvited and stayed while we ate dinner. At one point, she picked up a knife and cut into my food. She didn't like it and put it back on my plate. Again, she was completely hammered drunk. When we paid our check, we told the server, she told the owners and no one ever talked to us about it. Don't waste your time at this "Shit Show". There are many better restaurants in Crystal River. And they appreciate your patronage. read more

Seafood is fresh in our boil bowl and the Backyard Sauce is the way to go if you like heat. We always ask for extra chili flakes. You can not go wrong with the fish and chips for those of you who like a good crispy crunch. The staff is always friendly and the food always comes out quickly. While visiting Crystal River for our 10th Anniversary, we ate at The Boil Yard twice and were impressed both times. We had friendly and prompt service in comfortable and casual atmosphere. The menu had a wide variety to choose from and the Crab Ragoon Dip as an appetizer was to die for. I had the scallops on the first visit and a steak on the second visit - both cooked to perfection. Love that the menu has so much to choose from for every taste. I wish we lived closer it would be a weekly "must" for dinner or brunch. My husband and I are visiting Crystal River for a few days and was trying to find a nice place to eat. We came across the Boil Yard and decided to give it a try. I ordered the Jambalaya and my husband ordered the boiled shrimp. I found out that a lady named Jen made up the recipe for the Jambalaya and it was the best I have ever eaten. You have to like spicy food, however. The shrimp boil was also fabulous. Georgia waited on us and we had a very enjoyable conversation with her. We will definitely be back again! read more

Everything I ate here was great. I ordered the scallops deep fried and they were super generous with the portions. The Bavarian pretzel was amazing as were the boiled peanuts. My daughter loved her pizza. The bathroom has the greatest toilets ever, beer kegs. Will go back on next visit! read more

We have been wanting to check this place out since they opened in Crystal River. However, we also wanted to give it some time to work out whatever kinks places always tend to have when they're first opening! So glad we came by for dinner! We got the seared Ahi Tuna ; could have been a little warmer, it wasn't exactly what was expected - the snow crab boil; DELICIOUS. Lobster bites app were good, and the couple we were with got the shrimp boil with a half pound of snow crab and split the crab cakes which they said were delicious. My only wish was that they let you split the first pound of your boil into two different things rather than saying you have to get 1 pound of a specific type seafood before you can start adding 1/2 lbs of anything else. But other than that, we would go back for sure!! Prices were a bit up there, but nothing more than what we were expecting for seafood. read more

Karaoke night loud interesting at times entertaining at times ear piercing hard to eat with fingers in your ears at times ... our waitress was great very attentive asking us several times how the meal was and if we needed anything -- when i ordered the conch fritters and a side of fries she came back out and said the chef wants to make you a dinner/ platter what is your 2nd side -- i got broccoli -- i was very impressed that he cared that i had a good dining experience and very appreciative for the delicious conch fritters - my hubby had a shrimp platter and beer and was pleased .. i would recommend this place -- people there seemed to be enjoying themselves and by the time we left there was a line at the door -- next time i go i will bring a seat cushion with me the picnic style benches/tables were hard on my back other then that no complaints read more

Don't waste your time unless you just want a drink. The food is sub-par. The crab and shrimp Parmesan dip taste like fishy cheese poo. We sent it back. I ordered the special prime rib with collard greens and red potatoes. The prime rib had no seasoning at all. The greens taste like they were right out of the can. Ever heard of smoked bacon? My girlfriend ordered blackened grouper. Pathetic. Way over cooked and no seasoning. No manager ever came to the table. The white lights kill the atmosphere. The servers wear t-shirts that look like crap. Plastic silverware and your charging that much for food. I've got to stop or I'm going to loose it. Never again. read more

This is quickly becoming a favorite. The crab boils are delicious have had 3 different flavors messy but so worth it. You pull out full pieces so fresh. Had to have the grouper basket as a snack big chunks of fresh fish lightly battered. Then there is the beverage ice cold and served with a smile.
